One of two victims identified as Adonis Mera, 14, who was skating with his friends and sister [may never walk again]
A New York teenager has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly opened fire at skaters in Manhattan's Bryant Park and then seemed to confess to the crime on Facebook.
During an hour-long standoff at his Bronx apartment on Sunday morning, Corey Dunton, 16, wrote on the social media website: 'Feds trien [sic] kick down my door its over were do i go from hereeeee...[I don't know] wat to do i f----ed up.'
Minutes later, he added: 'These n----s gunna have to take me out take my life I aint goin to jail i reather [sic] take my life!!'
The alleged gang member is accused of shooting two men at the ice rink because of a dispute with another man over a coveted 'biggie' jacket he was wearing.
When police began banging on his door at around 8 a.m., he posted: 'Feds at my door Im goin out with a bang!!!!!!! take my soul.'
He is suspected to be a member of the Bloods gang and was taken to the Midtown South precinct house in Manhattan where he refused to answer questions and demanded a lawyer.
The teenager allegedly fired on Javier Contreras, 20, of the Bronx, but in doing so hit Adonis Mera, 14, of Manhattan who now faces being paralyzed from the waist down.
Police believe that Contreras was targeted for the particular Marmot Mammoth 'biggie' jacket he was wearing and was shot in the hand and the hips.
A source with the NYPD confirmed that Contreras and Dunton knew each other.
The arrest of Dunton comes after the distraught family of 14-year-old Mera expressed their fears he will never walk again.

Melt the lock to the bars. Feed him scraps.
Isn’t that cute....the little punk was under the impression that he actually had a soul to take.
Big 0 has emboldened his Amish comrades the last 5 years. They just keep bringing it.
What a sense of entitlement! A true ‘Gibsmedat’. So now he’ll go off to Juvie until he’s 18. I really doubt he’ll be tried as an adult.
And when he’s once more released into the ‘outside’ he’ll be a full fledged predator and woe unto anyone who he thinks is his prey.
This is what he intended. Except the drills for real will be carrying the 7000 plus ‘personal defense weapons’ the DHS purchased (they bought ‘assault rifles’ but intentionally wrote PDWs in the RFI) to go with the billion plus rounds of ammunition, MRAPs, Helicopters, Predators and mini drones.

I must really be out of it. I have never heard of a “biggie jacket”.
Doesn't sound right. A cookout?
As part of his sentence, perhaps they could inject him with something that would cause a temporary paralysis without him knowing it, giving him time to contemplate directly the harm he caused.
Well at least his “NEW” outfit will be the same color!! Prison jumpsuit orange!!
Wait, NY has tough gun laws how is it a sixteen year old didn’t follow those laws!

When you spend several thousand hours simulated murder robbing in a game, you can expect the repetitive training to bleed over into reality a bit.
Are they worth more if they have bullet holes in them?
wasn’t this a ‘gun-free-zone’??
couldn’t he read the signs???
I can only assume this is one more in a long long line of NGB stories.
Sort of shines the light of reality on large urban areas, social media, and cultural collapse.

Oh, and PS, since when do sixteen year olds have apartments?
Makes you want to vote for another school levy doesn’t it? Improved public education and all that...
I had a sentence in there about language bastardization but I deleted it. To quote a very important person, “WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE”.
When it comes to schools, and education, there is a lot to be said for local control if parents are involved in the decisions made, and less admin and more teaching.
Most administrators think there is never enough money, while those paying the taxes know they face total ruin if public education ever gets complete control over financing.
$600 for that???
