Why does the government want health exchange enrollment to fail?
me

Posted on 11/08/2013 7:43:10 AM PST by JustSurrounded

Since there is clearly no legitimate excuse for the healthcare.gov debacle, I have been wondering why the HHS sec and president want the signups to be so difficult. An idea has occurred to me: to punish the states that declined to set up their own exchanges.

I believe this administration's priorities are:

1. Punish your enemies

2. Massively redistribute wealth away from earners (and to your cronies wherever possible)

3. Remake this country into a bleak, totalitarian backwater, making sure we can never go back

Given that, doesn't it make sense that this exercise should be made to HURT?

If I were in charge of something like this, I would definitely not make a website the only portal to the system.

Why is there no paper application? The IRS will ultimately own this, and our tax code is not simple, so we have 'expertise' in convoluted systems for extracting money from the people. So why no paper enrollment? Why does not every library, as with taxes, have stacks of application forms and instruction booklets with all the costs and subsidies charted out? Families could mull their choices over the kitchen table. Why did we not have TurboTax put a program together to guide people through and spit out a paper form or an e-file?

We know how to do this. Something is 'off' about this whole website thing.

In order for the government to take it over as a single payer system. It’s that simple.

So they can "graciously" offer us a Plan B: A Federal Single Payer System.
Total Central Control of all health care. Free for all non-taxpayers. Must be better than 0-care, right?

It's a "fundamental transformation" of America into a perpetual state of "FAIL".

Have you observed the economic model for Venezuela? This administration's model is far more disfunctional. We are just seeing the beginning of the collapse.

To usher in Soviet styled government controlled, government insured, government DECIDED medical treatment called single payer.

Why is there no paper application?

Oh, comrade, there IS a paper application.

Unfortunately, some Obamadrone has to enter the information from the paper form, into the website!

If Single Payer is the endgame, doesn’t it stand to reason fhey have already been secretly working on that? A hundred million dollars disappeared a month ago...... I bet they are working hard on a single payer IT system....... In the shadows that is.

And single payer is simply a means to the end of the top priority listed in the article.

Yes, now that you mention it, that does make sense.

It's true to form. You know they were working on the so-called ACA long before Pelosi took over. They had their bills all lined up and ready to go. Makes sense they'd be readying, or have ready, single-payer.

Note: It may take a few moments for the actual article to appear. At least it does for me.

But, but Michael Medved says this line of thinking is beyond contemplation and as wacko as Pearl Harbor and 911 conspiracy theories. It is impossible that a sitting administration would ever do anything that would intentionally make them look this bad no matter the outcome. End of discussion. That’s what he’s been spouting - can he be that ignorant? or just laying down cover? I mean there’s no evidence in the 20th century or previous history of conspiracy? It is merely a deception or a ploy. The one I love the most touted in the past by some of the biggest right wing talk show host is there is no such thing as conspiracy because if there were it would be provable and then it wouldn’t be a conspiracy.

Nah, I’m sorry, but that’s a tad silly even for a Liberal. It takes shooting ones self in the foot to the extreme. You don’t make yourself the laughing stock of the entire nation (and possibly the world) just to try and punish another in a way that will be hard to explain later.

I’d also add that while yes, single payer is the desire, its chances are being destroyed by this debacle. Most Dems wouldn’t vote for it before, good luck now. And while we are likely on the verge of a death spiral, the InsCos got protection in the form of a mandatory bailout if it happens written into the law - the companies won’t be going away. Plus Medicaid not being force expanded means no single payer can easily be forced even if Dems were willing to say 2 years from now after half the people lose insurance that “its too expensive for everyone and we want to take all insurance away and give everyone medicaid” - they would literally be in risk of being strung up at their state capitols as next to no one would want to go along with it this fast

At this point we will prob see a death spiral, millions lose insurance, the mandates on what is covered dropped to allow people to get catastrophic and most other services go into a true free-market situation like Lasik, Lapband, etc are now.

This F*up this fast is the last thing they wanted, I imagine, because the law was already unpopular and in risk of destructive changes which might help it go away. Now that many of yhe lesser legs will be tossed in the courts and others will have to change to make constituents happy, its even worse for its chances. Dems are in a horrific situation right now. If they don’t make parts of it go away then they will go away in the elections and the entire bill be be in bigger risk.

"Just study Hitler."

It never occurred to me that the 0bamacare rollout failure could be their REICHSTAG FIRE. Hmmmm.. They want to eliminate ANY AND ALL market involvement and go to single payer and this is their way of de-legitimizing the 'free market' aspect of health care.
