Vanity: "Why aren't the Republicans at least trying to help fix Obamacare?"

I keep hearing this Democrat talking point being trotted out, accusing the Republicans of harming their constituents by not doing everything in their power to "fix" the Affordable Health Care Act. This one must test well in focus-groups because it keeps getting repeated. I've yet to hear one Republican answer this coherently. Here's my suggestion for a response:

"If I saw a friend's house being looted would I do everything in my power to stop the looting, or would I walk over and try to negotiate with the looters? Would I call the police and try to get some neighbors to help out, or would I see if I could persuade the looters to delay their looting by a few months, and maybe not take all of the good silverware? To anyone who believes in the principals on which this country was founded the Affordable Care Act is nothing less than government-sanctioned looting of our health care system. The Republican party's only goal is to put a stop to it, not to help it proceed more smoothly."

You don’t fix a sewage spill — you clean it up.

The ACA is totally bad policy, substituting government planners, compulsion, and regulation for the plain American virtues of free choice, liberty and sensible law. As such the fix is the repeal that the House has passed a half dozen times already and Democrats refuse to take up in the Senate.

The "fix" for healthcare in America is to undo the last 60 years of government tinkering with the free market doctor/patient relationship.
Good luck with that.
Most people are oblivious to the origin of the problems with the economic model of healthcare and how they have manifested over that span.
How did a huge pencil-pushing middleman become established in that economic model, to extract premiums and grudgingly dole out benefits, while also benefiting from the "float" to build skyscapers?
They only serve to increase the cost in a multitude of ways.
Then consider the parasitic nature of malpractice insurance/law-suits and the multitude of ways that government-protected revenue source for trial layers raises healthcare costs.
Und Tort Reform ist verboten.
As always government creates the problems, then rides in with move government solutions that only serve to make the situation even worse.

Sometimes, the only solution to fix something is to destroy it and start completely over.

Why in the world would anyone support something that is a death wish for hundreds of thousands of Americans. It needs to be killed I say before it kills you and I. The Democrats do not want the Republicans(or anyone else) to fix Obamacare. Obama was written in secret and passed through a series of dishonest and corrupt deals. The Louisiana Purchase and the Cornhusker kickback were just a few. Most of the Senators and Representatives who voted for the law never read it. The Obamacare bill was provided to legislators late at night a few hours before the vote with no explanations.

Everyone who understood it said it could not possibly work.

The purpose of Obamacare is to destroy the greatest health care system in the history of the world and replace it with a government controlled single payer system. Obamacare is meant to fail. When speaking to their supporters Democrats describe Obamacare as a first step towards government control of the health care industry.

Democrats and their agents in the MSM dishonestly say they want to “fix” Obamacare. They want Republicans involved so that they can blame them for the failures of Obamacare.

The purpose of Obamacare is for the politicians and Democrat operatives to control all health care funds and all health care decisions and take no responsibility for the failures of the the system.

In short, they take your money then they decide whether or not you or your family are allowed to get treatment.

The Democrats want you to have beg them for access to medical care if you or someone in your family children gets sick.
