So far this year President Obama has removed nine flag officers from their posts. Three of these firings are linked to last years attack on the US Consular facility in Benghazi.
US Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel defended the moves as the prerogative of the nations Commander-in-Chief. The President must have men he can trust to carry out his orders.
U.S. Army General Carter Ham, who commanded U.S. African Command when the consulate was attacked, lost President Obamas trust when he contradicted his assertion that no forces were available to rescue Ambassador Stevens. Ham contends that reinforcements could have been sent in time.
Similarly dismissed was Rear Admiral Charles Gaouette, commander of the Mediterranean Carrier Strike Group, for saying that aircraft couldve been sent to aid those under fire from the terrorists assaulting the facility.
Hagel emphasized that whether or not these officers assessment of the situation was correct is not the point. Their open disagreement with their commanding officer is. President Obama needs to feel secure in the knowledge that the officers under his command have his back. By contradicting the official story on Benghazi these men left the president vulnerable to attack from his enemies in Congress and the media. Disloyalty of this magnitude is a dereliction of duty that we cannot, in good conscience, let slide.
In related news, James Clapper, the retired lieutenant general now serving as the Obama Administrations Director of National Intelligence made a bid to join the ranks of purged military men when he challenged President Obamas plea of ignorance about the National Security Agencys overseas eavesdropping on phone calls made by various European heads of state.
In the first place, anyone with any brains has got to know that all governments spy on other governmentsfriend and foe, alike, Clapper said. On top of this, President Obama was explicitly informed of these activities on numerous occasions. The NSA isnt some rogue entity carrying out nefarious actions on its own. Everything we do is at the direction of the President.

Obama is weeding out all the Generals who might overthrow him—thats all. All dictators do this.
There is a certain mid-level Roman functionary who will be by to defend this shortly. Last time I beat him in by five minutes. I’m shooting for 3:16...
Its my assessment that these commanders did not disagree with the CIC but told the truth with respect to the situation. It’s the CIC and SOS that were dishonest. Does anyone else sum up the situation as such?
I’m sure it was Stalin’s position also.
Are any of the cashiered officers of the African-American variety?
Not that it isn't true.

Dagnab it, John. You got me again. LOL!
Purge of Military Is Commander-in-Chief’s Prerogative, Says Hagel
Yes it is.
It is also our prerogative as citizens to call out the President for doing so. Even more so because he lacks any knowledge or understanding of the military having never served.
Any chance he would purge the SDEF?
I firmly believe that the military should NOT have defined pensions.
..its making people that have no business being there to stay on.....
like teaching....people that have no talent staying on simply because its a half year job with a nice pension after 30 yrs...better than chucking coal for a living...
a better idea would be to give a proportional pension at age 60 or so.....you serve the military for 8 yrs, then you get a proportional pension at age 60..
that way, that guy doesn't need to stay in when he has no more desire, yet not loose his 8 yr service...
Stalin did and it nearly cost him WWII when Hitler invaded and he had no senior leadership left in the military.
I read the whole thing and didn’t realize it was satire untill the very end.
“The President must have men he can trust to carry out his orders.”
Mo. The United States needs men who can be trusted to obey their oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies both foreign AND domestic!
Stalin executed about one-third of his military command structure in response to a fake conspiracy that he was tricked by the Nazis into believing.
In a way it was a very early case of "hacking" into a wireless communication system.
The Nazis used fake coded radio messages to trick Stalin's military counter-intelligence apparatchiks into reporting that there was widespread collusions between his generals in the field and the Germans. This was in the weeks just before Hitler launched Barbarossa.
Please excuse this post, but as this is satire.

This is Part 5 of “The Tuskegee Airmen” (1995). Start at about the 4 minute mark for one of the most stirring scenes in cinema history. ‘Gets to me every time.
Why with two Purple Hearts were there not a Bronze Star or some other higher medal awarded?
I don't ever recall there not being a higher medal along with the Purple Heart.
Anyone have a differing experience?
