The Healthcare.gov Challenge

However, in a recent speech in Maryland, Obama challenged Americans to go to “the website” to see how much money they could save under Obamacare. He said that once you do and find out how much you save, you’re going to sign up “even if you didn’t vote for me.”

The website in question is www.healthcare.gov, and I did go to see how much money I could “save” under Obamacare.

As reasonable people already know, you do not save money under Obamacare.

If “OBAMACARE SUBSIDY HEALTH INSURANCE TAX,” aka OSHIT, is so popular, then why isn’t Mr. Michelle Obama enrolled?

This is enrollment day number two, Barry: tick-tock - - -

I've been to the site.
They tell me I have registered successfully, but I'm not able to log in.
Not because they're overwelmed with traffic.
Because there is problems with the site.
So I can't look at the plans to form an educated opinion.
I suspect that's been the whole idea all along.
:)

Oh, wrong, wrong! You “save” money, in not wasting it on “unnecessary” discretionary spending.

Just because the discretionary spending is what makes the margin of growth for much of the rest of the economy, and thus supports a more nearly full employment of the other citizens of this country, that is of no importance in the greater scheme of things. You, the individual consumer, will surely spend it badly.

The Newspeak of “1984” would rationalize the additional spending on “health insurance” (actually a wealth transfer scheme) as an “investment” - in what, is never specified.

So even if you have no need nor any intention of signing up, but merely curiousity, you divulge your IP address, some personal informtion and allow .gov to have you on record.

And your information.

Not a good idea.

Holder says that blacks are incapable of obtaining a picture ID and therefore to require one when voting is discrimination. So what about Obamacare? I think it’s going to be enormously more difficult to obtain healthcare than get an ID? Is Obamacare discriminatory?

Check out infowars.com today. It has an article of a guy making 50+K per year and has type 1 diabetes. He tried to sign up for the obozocare silver plan and found he couldn't afford it. He then tried to opt out. Accordingly, he was told the IRS would take the money for the fine from his bank account. If his bank account didn't have the funds his driver's license would be suspended and a lien place on his property.

The fines can only come from garnished tax refunds.
Another part the “navigator” got wrong.

To register at first:
your state
first and last name
email address
create a user name
pick a password
pick and answer 3 security questions

Then you get an email with a link to click to finish registering.

For everyone who wants to know what came next...

Then a screen said I was successful click here to continue. I did but was denied access. The site said my user name or password was wrong.
The email to reset my password did not help- no account for me is there.
Tried to re-register, but said my user name, email etc were not unique.

I just went on the WA state site. I have healthcare for now, but I want to see what people are suffering through.

1st attempt. I put in my hypothetical family that matches mine. This took a while because the site is so slow and every family member requires reloading the whole page. When I hit "find plans" it showed really low premiums that had me puzzled. Then I looked over at the data the plans were based on and it had reset all of it to the default, a single male, 20 years of age.

2nd attempt. I went back and entered all the data again. When I hit "find plans" it crashed.

3rd attempt. I recycled the page and it took me to the default entry page, back to a 20 year old single male. I even had to reset the county and zip code entries a couple times. Went back to the entry page and it gave me an error "please contact the technical team", no direction as to how to contact that "team."

4th attempt, still having problems with the county. It wants me to enter a county, but doesn't have a way to enter anything. I reset the zip and it brings up the correct county, but drops that data when I access the next page. The county finally sticks and now the results are for a single 53 year old single male, not even close to the data I entered.

5th attempt. Now getting results for a couple, a 55 year old male and a 59 year old female, and the rates are pretty high. This is after entering a request for a 45 year old couple with three kids.

6th and final attempt. The correct family data showed up in the "My Search" block. Here was the result................wait for it.........

Don’t know the first, wouldn’t give them the second because they already gave it to someone else (I am an identity theft victim via the IRS), and would only give them the third as a way of supplying “name, rank, and serial number” to the enemy.

My understanding, too, is that the ACA is written so poorly that there is no enforcement mechanism, and that all they can do is garnish the penalty from your refund. If you do not get a refund, but owe them, instead, at tax time, you simply do not mail in the penalty. All they can do is send you a nasty letter, which you can file in the filing cabinet of your choice (mine is under my kitchen sink).

Do people realize that for someone making $50K, the penalty in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd+ years are respectively $500 (1% of income), $1000 (2% of income), and $1,250 (2.5% of income) ?! In other words, the penalty alone in the third year and beyond is almost what a year's premiums were for a lot of people just a year or two ago. Now, I have also read that one can be exempt from the penalty if the lowest-priced converge would cost more than 8 percent of your household income (and mine would), but I am not sure of that.
