In the Mean Times

Bud Norman notes that the Left has gotten increasingly hateful, from the President on down to the shock troops in the trenches of academia and politics.

At the very highest levels of the Democratic party the president routinely tells audiences that his opposition is motivated by the desire to cause the poor and sick to suffer while making the environment uninhabitable, and it invariably gets a big hand from the hand-picked crowds of true believers. With such mean rhetoric coming from the leaders, it’s not surprising that the followers would start hoping for the death of sons and daughters....

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has recently described the “tea party” legislators attempting to limit the debt and de-fund Obamacare as “anarchists” and “fanatics.” It’s nice to know that “anarchist” is still a term of opprobrium in Democratic circles, given their longtime indulgence of the black-masked thugs going by that name who terrorized the past several international economic summits, but the insult does not bode well for any bipartisan solutions to the nation’s problems....

Yet another story involves a journalism professor at the University of Kansas, who took to the “tweets” after the mass murder at Washington’s Navy Yard to say “The blood is on the hands of the NRA. Next time, let is be YOUR sons and daughters. Shame on you. May God damn you.” ...

One story concerns the Sacramento Democratic Party’s communications chairman, of all people, who responded to a “Tweet” advocating the de-funding of Obamacare by writing on his own “Twitter” account: “May your children all die from debilitating, painful and incurable diseases.”

Actually the problem is not what the progressive/liberal left is telling us. The problem is the sheeple that believe them. And the number of sheeple is growing by the day. I figure we have less than 20 years. Probably closer to 10 before either a 2nd revolution or a complete collapse. I fear a collapse more than a revolution since that will be an open invitation for our largest debt holder(s) to come in and take over.

We'll do a Soviet Union style collapse. Not much fighting. We'll just split -- probably intio more than two countries. There will be a North/South split and also a West Coast split.

The Left-leaning nations which emerge will be surprised at how hard their life will be. But they'll have to suck it up -- I think they will have a difficult time forcing their will on the freedom-loving nation in their midst. I think 10 years from now is a good bet.

Harry Reid wants to impose socialist policies that strip away our 1st, 2nd, and 4th amendment right, sides with the guys that spy on us and all of our communications and the homosexuals who want to sleep in tents with our children, supports a President who won’t show his birth certificate or credentials that supports terrorists and puts them in office at the White House, imposes healthcare that may require the implantation of a biometric identification chip into our bodies that may possibly have tracking capabilities wex’re not aware to recieve healthcare which we will be forced to pay for or be penalized...

...and I’m the anarchist! You’re out of your freakin’ mind!!! I love my country you POS!

I’m thinking 5-6: south, northeast, west coast, midwest, rockies, Texas...

Could be. But with one freedom loving nation in the center of the country, we could maintain interior lines and be quite strong.

Northeast region, continuing along the Great Lakes as far west as Chicago or Minnesota -- it's pretty solidly blue.
West coast from California up to Seattle -- pretty solidly blue.
From Idaho to Kansas, to Texas, to Florida, to West Virginia and the Carolinas -- one very big area which is pretty Red.

There would be outliers (Virginia, New Mexico, Florida etc.) which might be awkward to absorb, but by holding the interior together, the low population center could maintain strength while making it difficult for the two Liberal areas in the East and in the West to unite and coordinate.

But, yeah, 5-6 nations is conceivable. In my opinion, however, that would be more likely to result in actual fighting, because people start thinking they can "win" and control people who don't want to be controlled.

I can see the cleveland to chicago belt, but get 70 miles out and it changes quick.

Other option I see is a split City/Country along what your hinting at. So Seatle to San Diego but nothing inland, Boston to DC/Baltimore maybe Richmond with a finger to Chicago through central PA - though the PA T may have something to say about it. Then it would end up like 3 with maybe a few short-lived city-states like Miami, St. Louis, NO, and Denver thrown in for measure.

a few short-lived city-states

Definitely got that right. Might seem like a good idea at the time, but no viability. Short-lived indeed!
