Time for a Christian exodus from a failed Republican Party
World Tribune ^ | August 23, 2013 | Grace Vuoto

It is time for Christians, and those of other faiths who value this nation’s unique character, to leave the Republican Party and start their very own political organization.

For decades, the Christian alliance with the GOP has failed to roll back or even mildly halt the relentless advance of liberalism. We have lost the culture, lost the traditional underpinnings of the nation and no longer have a national character we can take pride in. The Republican Party is useless for all those who are serious about upholding traditional Judeo-Christian morality.

For years Rush, Levin, and most Conservative talk radio hosts argued that a third party meant certain defeat for Conservatives. Their advice was that our objective should be to reform the Republican Party to make it advance a more Coservative agenda. It is obvious, it has not worked, it has only gotten worse. The time has come for Conservatives to break away from the lying, deceiving Rebubicans. We have enough dealing with the destructive far left without having to also fight a defeatist, left leaning Republican Party. Just look at the disgusting Repubican approach on immigration and Obamacare. If we are going to save this Republic, we need to offer a distinct, politically different choice from either of the current parties.

Yes lets all leave and have NO voice what so ever. Much better.

I will keep voting for the best candidate, note best is a VARIABLE VALUE. If you have a choice between a Cold, Flue and Brain Cancer the COLD is BEST to have

The problem might be that the RC church is not going to recover from its scandals and its outrageous stand, preferring invaders over the sovereignty of the US.

Orthodox Christian churches are numerous and well-attended around here. Maybe they'll save Christianity.

It wasn’t soccer moms or RINO’S or NASCAR dads or any other single group that put Bush over Kerry in 2004 except Evangelicals.

Loads of studies prove Evangelicals turned out and as a result - we defeated Kerry.

Four short years later - The GOP had kicked Christians to the curb. Yeah, we still voted Repub, but the bridge was already burned and Obama won.

Four years later and four more years of pissing off their base? The GOP failed again in ‘12.

Does anyone expect the Repugs will learn a lesson here for 2016?

Me neither.

I won't vote for a liberal(R). Period. The GOP-E needs to understand that a lot of folks feel that way. As far as I'm concerned, the GOP-E can go the way of the Whig party.

The only thing they will do about the string of losses is move left, losing more of their base.

Why is it that every election we move further and further left? And when do we get to the point where our society is so bleak that it just doesn’t matter anyway? I’d say we’re pretty close and if something doesn’t happen soon I’d welcome a solid, principled third party and let the other 2 try to out liberal each other. Scott Brown from Mass. has put his feet in the water for 2016 and it led me to thinking how sad it would be if one day a pro choice ‘republican’ was nominee, and worse, what it would say if he won.

I gotta disagree with you.

We have DONE the ‘vote for the best’ thing for decades now.
The cold has turned into the flu and cancer is just on the horizon.

The Republicans think we work for THEM. WE need to show them they either shape up and represent US again, or they’re toast - like the Whigs.

We’re at crossroads here. Either we rise up and fight the fight ourselves with OUR OWN party or we let the current parties lead us to destruction. Those two parties only represent 1. Quick demise or 2 Quicker demise.

We CANNOT sit and wait for Republicans to save what’s left of this country. It’s painfully clear that they are NOT interested!

The entire political process has been bastardized so badly that only socialists and communists can get elected to federal offices in a majority of the precincts. Why would the administration fight tooth and nail to stop voter id other than they have a stake in continuing voter fraud? Your vote is being cancelled out by the army of machine democrat voters riding in Acorn vans from precinct to precinct casting as many votes as they can. It is not only impossible for a truly honest and patriotic conservative candidate to get elected, it is impossible for them to even get on the ballot! The political class considers conservative voters as suckers. They’ll take your money, your liberty, your freedom, and you’ll just stay home and grumble. Big deal.

Then win a few GOV’s and a senator and some reps here and there.

I know its hard to stay with a lemon like the McCain, Dole, Crist(thanks for leaving by the way) and the such like. But if we left there would be no Rand Paul or Ted Cruz in the Senate or ANY opposition in the House remember Obamas first 2 years well make that the next 20 or so while a 3rd part (at best) becomes relevant

You can mock, but if conservatives do take their ball and go home, the GOP-E can forget ever winning an election again.

And with the way the GOP-E shills mock conservatives, that looks like it's going to happen.

Your sales technique sucks if you are trying to get conservatives to vote for the GOP. Bad form to mock those who's votes you need.

I just won’t vote for anyone who isn’t Tea Party approved.

Ford/Gore/McLame/Romney —these are exactly the LoyalOpposition guys who turn me off.

They’ve treated my kind like Piss Boys.

Just let them TRY to get my vote, which they won’t AND GOOD I’M GLAD.

The Republican party has decided its best shot at winning is with the Libertarians not the Christians.

The GOP has left the Christians.

A Conservative third party is the only option for Christians, and Conservatives who accept Reagan’s definition of a Conservative...

I voted for Cruz without voting for that liberal Romney. Cruz won. He's a conservative. Romney lost. He's a liberal.

I am in agreement with you.

I will also add that most of the talk radio hosts, while well-meaning, have done little more than give the troops a false sense of hope with regard to the Republican Party. And their mantra continues to this day.

The best way to accomplish this, imo, is for the real conservatives we can trust leave the GOP all together and form/join a third party. America's Party, Constitution Party, whatever. Tens of millions will follow and they will soon become a force to be reckoned with, guaranteed.

To build it from the ground up would probably be better, but there's not enough time to get it done that way.

Yes lets all leave and have NO voice what so ever. Much better.

That's addressed in the article.

"We can only go up from defeat."

In other words, electing mush or failing to elect mush is a defeat.

For if even one truly principled member of a new Christian Party is elected it will be better than 280 useless Republicans in Congress. An example of truth will ricochet manifold, in or out of office. By contrast, several hundred liars successfully elected to Congress only depresses the national character and smothers the flame of Christianity.
