How old are you? ( Just wondering.)

My first vote was for Nixon in 1972, and I still have my Nixon/Agnew button and bumper sticker. So I'll let you do the math!

any useful and balanced information. His wording shows that. He is goal is

I don't think we can discern what the author's "goal is". That would be reading his mind. And the "useful and balanced information" phrase, is, I'm afraid. straight from the textbook of political correctness, commonly used by the MSM to obfuscate the ugly truth, but not required elsewhere.

"There are many specific reasons for this failure, but only one root cause: the liberal policies that started with LBJ and continue to this day. Obama has only made a bad situation worse."

I'll give you that.

This is a biggie that we refuse to even consider as a society and need to badly:

That gap has been established for 100 years. It remains no matter how the tests are jiggered to remove real or imagined bias. It even persisted when IQ tests were rewritten in Ebonics. It means affirmative action is a grossly unjust and counter productive farce that has cost the United States trillions in lost output. It means the Federal government needs to get out of the racism business completely and now.

teachers have to teach what they are told to teach by the administration
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

And...The teachers obey and thus are directly responsible for implementing practices that **HURT** children!

Sorry...This isn’t Hitler’s Germany and schools aren’t the equivilent of a military staffed concentration camp. NO ONE is holding a gun to the heads of these teahers. NO ONE is forcing them to take or keep a job whose policies they **know** HURTS children.

I am tired of this, “Poor, poor teacher! Those administrator make them do bad stuff!” It’s nothing but whine. Theachers do the job because they **willingly** applied for the job. They take the paycheck and cash it. And...they **WILLINGLY** comply in the implementation of harmful practice. They do not quit. If they do, there are armies of stupid Useful Idiots more than happy to hurt kids.

The white victim slobbered all over himself, denying the attack was race-based despite being TOLD it was by his attackers. The guy said if he could find the criminals, he would thank them for letting him live.

The white guilt-ridden mindset is pathetic. So are you, if you can’t take the truth.

So because someone else may not have made the same type of connections you have, they’re incompetent, or a liar. Odd.

You really are hung up on the veracity of this one article. But let’s assume it’s skewed on the bad side, and your experience is skewed the other way, with reality being in the middle. Are we supposed to feel better about that?

You are probably correct about that.

Are we supposed to feel better about that?

Not necessarily. My goal was not particularly to make anyone feel better. It was to present a counter-argument to the original posting.

Now off topic:

Everyone has a claim to fame. Some people have dined with royalty. Others have seen a Super Bowl in person.

My claim to fame is that I once met and shook hands with Moe Howard. He was very pleasant and gracious. I only wish that I had a photograph of the occasion!

I mention this because I noticed your User name.

"It was to present a counter-argument to the original posting."

Which IMHO is where you made a wrong turn. The article is a "small sliver" of a much bigger picture. Ignore the articles details and focus on the general cultural aspects. Dogrobber #68 really knocks it out of the park.

Here's the one sentence that sums up the article.

"Of course, there are a few loutish whites who will never think past their next meal and a few sensitive blacks for whom anything is possible, but no society takes on the characteristics of its exceptions."

And I always like hearing FReeper Stooge sightings. There's been a couple Moe sightings, but most are Larry. One Freeper used to see him at the Motion Picture Home.

Now I'm just bragging, but I can claim a two-fer. I met Larry Fine the same time I met Moe. It must have been around 1967 or so. Moe and Larry were on tour, along with Joe DeRita. For some reason, I didn't get to meet Joe, so I can't claim a hat trick.

First of all, you taught college kids. You cannot compare college kids to public school kids, because college kids are already a group selected for better grades. They are at least marginally an elite group compared to any/all high school students. And perhaps he tried to teach them such fine points of British history because they had a standardized test in Global Studies which would be asking them questions about just such material.

You "made them go sit in a corner"? I guess you don't realize that THAT action, in a NYC classroom, would get you up on charges of corporal punishment. I am absolutely NOT kidding.

Personal insults again.

Teachers are a professionals. I fully trust that teachers are not using these debating tactics against children who are in a position of inferior power and too immature to recognize the abusive manipulation. Teachers would **never** be abusive. Never.

I bet abortion workers say the same about ditching a job in a tight employment market.

As for 7-11 workers selling cirgarettes:

Last I checked no 7-11 worker is FORCING any **adult** to buy or use cigarettes. No taxpayer is forced ( under police threat) to pay for it.

Children though are being FORCED ( under police threat) to be subjected to a non-stop GODLESS worldview in socialist-entitlement schools that can never be religiously neutral in content or consequences. And...taxpayers are under police threat to pay for this godless and socialist indoctrination. This is an abomination and teachers **willing** seek work in these abominable places.

“Agreed! But what you're missing is that the author of the article goes out of his/her way to make it about all about race.”

LR, what you are missing is the liberals have made everything about race.

Traffic ticket - racism, poor academic achievement - racist curriculum, poverty - racism from slavery (150 years should be enough time to recover), the nuclear family - racist (we doesn't live dat way), a Hispanic male shoots and kills a black male in a scuffle- racism but a group of black males killing a lone white male is not racist, and I could go on and on.

Black profiteers continue the racist screed and they are supported by enablers like LR! Let one voice speak the truth o the current situation and LR steps up to scream RACISM!

This nation has allowed 12% of the population to have far too much influence in society in order to avoid an appearance of prejudice. What do we have to show for the effort? The situation presented in this article and the inevitable race war to follow when the Obama/New World Order crowd achieves their goal of destruction of the US economy and culture.

This is not a race issue - this is a cultural issue and the present situation is nothing more than a breakdown of the culture present when the US was a great nation.

Now you are comparing teachers to abortion workers? You have no credibility whatsoever, you blew that about half a dozen posts before. You are just a mindless cannon blowing out meaningless blather.
