I have absolutely NO wish to impose my non-neutral political, cultural, or religious worldview on any other parent's child.
No parent or voting mob should impose their worldview on my children or force any other citizen's child. No one should be forced to pay for it.

For this reason government schooling should be **abolished** since it is impossible for any government school to be religiously, culturally, or politically neutral in content or consequences.

Vouchers and tax credits, with gradually moving to complete privatization, is the only possible action to resolve the conundrum.

More personal insult.

I have complete confidence that personal insult NEVER happens in a government school against any child....( Teachers being professionals, as they claim.)

Now Hear This: as a taxpayer, I sure as shootin’ do not want to subsidize YOUR kid's religious education.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Godless government schools are not religiously neutral in content or consequences. (And...Neither are they culturally or politically neutral. )The godless worldview is just as religious non-neutral in content and consequences as a God-centered one.

Solution: Get government out of forcing taxpayers to subsidize religiously NON-neutral ATHEISM!

Solution: Vouchers and tax credits as a transition toward gradually moving toward a completely private system of education.

you had the unruly ‘sit in the corner for 5 minutes’? In my educational experience that stopped in the second grade. So enlightening to see it’s now progressed to the 14th grade.

When the behavior was childish, the punishment matched. It worked. The class saw that I was not going to put up with mess, and they buckled down. My toughest girl got a D in my class and the dean tried to get me to raise it; but I knew the student would not develop her considerable talent by goofing off and getting socially promoted, so she got the kick in the pants when it could do some good. By senior year, she won the department prize and her parents thanked me.

You might enjoy the movie Stand and Deliver, about a real-life educator who took ghetto hispanic kids and made them champions of mathematics. He did not do it by worrying about their vanity.

Government schooling has lost its credibility and status among aware conservatives. That means those working the godless and socialist-entitlement K-12 are well on the way to that end as well.

New world. Time for everyone to get used to it.

Ethnocentrism is the belief that your particular ethnic group is better than all others. Racism is the theory of a hierarchy of ethnic groups which was, in the western world, based upon the color of skin. I urge you to read Dinesh D’Souza’s book “The End of Racism” - thought provoking and a real eye opener about race and racism.

And note that I use “racism” with respect to the beliefs in the American Black culture because of the aspect of lighter-skin color being “better” than darker skin tones within the American Black culture. This indicates an embrace of the hierarchy of color, not simple ethnocentrism. Self-contradictory within a group which attacks the same beliefs if a “white” person were to express them; but there you have it.

Trust me when I tell you that art students are not the most linearly gifted group. Many have active emotional dysfunctions that drive them into art or other right-brained activities; many had depression, some were cutting themselves or other self-harm. When the artsy goths get to college, the necessity to meet academic standards can be a huge shock.

As a teacher, you have to use what works in a classroom. College sophomores might sit in the corner; obviously downscale high school kids would not. It seemed from the essay that the teacher was probably a liberal, and probably tried to reason with the kids or enable them rather than find an effective way to gain control in the classroom. It’s impossible to deal with horny, violent high school kids physically. But a teacher has to have creative ways to deal with each situation as it presents itself, remembering that even those kids are created in the image and likeness of God. The essay was defeatist, blame-shifting, irresponsible and passive.

...The person who accepts, even implicitly, the lesser role within a racist hierarchy is just as much of a racist as the loud mouth idiot who proclaims their racial superiority. ...

Your post in its entirety is brilliant. Well done.

Your definition of ‘racism’ is cold, precise, (no offense) pedantic, and probably correct, given the examples you cite. Nevertheless, we live in a culture where words carry more than their strict dictionary meaning. And so “gay”, implies happiness, “choice” implies freedom, and “social justice” implies goodness, and who could be against happiness, choice and goodness?!

And so, “racism”, a concept that had to be invented, and some say was invented by none other than Leon Trotsky, has come to be associated, subliminally or not, with none other than the evil monster Dr Mengele, and whether Trotsky was the one to invent it, the Soviet propaganda machinery throughout the world (via their media agents and useful idiots) used this idea to fight the West in the field of politics, starting with the colonial Africa, and culture. The seed planted by the Soviets, no one else but them, has grown into a monstrous, infectious plant in the West, so that now more of us in the US and Western Europe believe, and the word is ‘BELIEVE’, in the existence of ‘racism’ than in the past existence of Jesus, and while we’re at it, in the existence of the Beatles. Yes, I’m saying that, as absurd as that sounds, ‘racism’ is bigger than Jesus and the Beatles!

Address the issues without the name-calling and personal attacks or don’t post at all. Thank you.
