There were threads on this quite a while ago..

the items itentified Martin as a druggie of sorts...

then the MJ use came out later...

but some of us got quite an education from the threads...

I read this elsewhere,

This is a very interesting part of the TRAYVON MARTIN story that is not getting a lot of press. But it was widely reported that the young lad was simply buying “Arizona Ice Tea and Skittles” from the 7-Eleven store.

Turns out that we parents are unaware that there is a drug drink made from Arizona Watermelon drink and Skittles candy and then mixed with OVER THE COUNTER cough medicine (Robitussen and similar brands) that makes a very potent drug.

Not only is there now all sorts of evidence popping up that Trayvon Martin was abusing drugs, but it also is a warning to parents all over America that simple combinations of commonly available goods can be some serious drugs in the hands of our kids.

The drug is called LEAN or PURPLE LEAN. It is very likely that Trayvon Martin was on his way to make some more LEAN the night he was shot, the coroner’s report shows that his liver was damaged in a way that is consistent with the use of LEAN/PURPLE LEAN.

Keep an eye on your kids and grandkids. Those seemingly innocent items they are toting around or buying at the store may be a lot more dangerous to them that you think.

Everyone who has been following the GZ is familiar with Purple Drank and its ingredients.

Martin even texted about it.

Also an army friend of mine said this:

“It’s true because I had friends in the army that would take those flavored cigars and soak them in cough syrup”

The preferred ingredients are Robitussin, Jolly Ranchers and grape soda.

But any all-sugar candy and any corn-syrup laden softdrink will do.

You can add vodka to it as well.

Everything I’ve read says the preferred mixer is Sprite or some other lemon-lime soda, not iced tea. Other than being aware of the recreational use of codeine, what’s the point of this speculation now?

Old news. “Purple drank” is also known as “lean”.
It was throughly covered here about a year ago.
Trayvon Martin mentioned the concotion a couple of times in his texts and/or social media.

I have found it interesting when certain “urban youths” cannot properly pronounce “ask” or identify NaCl, but sure as hell can fully comprehend what promethazine is.

There are several variants of purple drank, and this is one, nicknamed ‘Lean’. Purple drank, and variants, are thought of as popular among southern US rap artists and fans, and several rap artists have died after drinking it.

Importantly, the prescription cough syrup used contains both codeine and promethazine. The latter ingredient is called a “first generation antihistamine”. The drug has strong sedative and weak antipsychotic effects. It also reduces motion sickness and has antiemetic and anticholinergic properties. In some countries it is prescribed for insomnia when benzodiazepines are contraindicated.

Promethazine has been reported to cause significant sedation, agitation, hallucinations, seizures, dystonic reactions, and possibly apparent life-threatening events.

He had pictures of what looked like a concoction of Lean on his phone which of course could not be authenticated because, according to the judge, it was possible that one of his 7 year old cousins might have gotten to the phone, broken his password, mixed up that concoction, and taken the pictures.

Skittles and Arizona Watermelon Fruit Cocktail Juice only make you bullet proof when you beat unarmed white Hispanics.

I you don't believe this ask Trayvon, Oh snap!

Media speculation as well as internet buzz are openly querying if Trayvon Martin's purchase of Skittles and Arizona Watermelon Fruit Cocktail Juice on the night he died were just to satisfy a young man's sweet tooth or were they two of the three ingredients in a dangerous codeine-based concoction, as reported by the pop culture news portal RashManly.com on July 12, 2013.

Yes, http://www.theconservativetreehouse.com did a great informative (as all their work has been on this) article on drank/lean/purple lean.

That said, the rest of the media is LATE TO THE GAME. They should have been all over this a year ago.

Especially shameful is groups/schools handing out Skittles and cans of Arizona Watermelon drink for Trayvon days.

Trayvon's death should have been used as a wakeup call, a teachable moment; instead, an innocent man was persecuted.
