At what point does it become clear that we no longer inhabit America?
When we "Press 2," not "1," for English?
When a national Social Security Number syncs an electronic identity that the government hospital provided us at birth to track us till death?
When borders are no more, but the Surveillance State always knows where we are?
Ours is the age of dislocation before realization: The United States of America no longer exists. Why? How? The answer is simple, tragic and outrageous: Government officials, elected and unelected, with precious exceptions, no longer preserve, protect and defend the U.S. Constitution. Instead, they do whatever it takes to beat it, flout it and ignore it. Worse, We, the People, let them.
This can't go on. Otherwise our-country-'tis-of-thee becomes a melody to be forgotten, a mirage of a tradition more storybook than real every day. Nowhere is this more the case, of course, than in Washington, D.C., where absolute unaccountability corrupts absolutely, where echoing down the cool, white marble halls of power, hollow men and women trample sovereignty and citizenship in a pathway to American betrayal. And I haven't even gotten to Congress, busy "reforming" the illegal-alien crisis they antiseptically refer to as "immigration," while considering passage of a $940 billion "farm bill," 80 percent of which will fund food stamps. These two laws alone can institutionalize the lawlessness of the land and make countless more Americans wards of the state.
Meanwhile, there is in Washington a faceless power-mongery that lives and works in the shadows. City by city, rural state by rural state, its mechanisms of "immigration," "refugee resettlement" and socialist government programs overwhelm a near-impotent citizenry with alien cultures, religions, languages and traditions.

Ten years ago I pointed out that Bush was growing the government (DHS, TSA etc.) and still ignoring the borders. “Sit down and shut up” was the response from the GOP. If things like the US-Mexico border weren’t fixed in 2002-2006 they never will be.

Find it strange when the excuse is being given that while the government knows whats going on in 300 million citizens lives but because the illegals are not citizens and in “the shadows” the US doesn’t know who they are or where they’re comming from so we must make them citizens..

In that May 3rd speech Obama gave before the Mexican Anthropological Museum in which he blamed America for the violence in Mexico I believe he went even futhur. There’s a inference but never referenced by name to the Gasden purchase and border settlements US made with Mexico where Obama hinted he seems to side with the Mexican claims. Would those in attendence share that view is a question that should be asked, because I believe they would,.he does.
The Mexicans have been getting most favorable treatment above the rest of our neighbors both north and south. They’re permitted to cross our borders and enter illegally and are allowed access to rights of citizenship (with the exception of voting which if the democrat party regains control over the House will happen) other nationals entering this country don’t get.
Also by allowing Mexicans to do this any quota ration for immigration from other south and central American countrys are taken up by Mexicans while that country is laying claim to a large chunk of our sovereign territory.
We are already seeing the result of this in certain areas claimed by the Mexicans. Their national flag (standard) gets displayed over ours. Where there is a controlling number of Mexican nationals (illegals). It’s displayed over certain institutions particularly schools accompanied by riots and disturbances. Blacks are threatend by Mexicans in certain sections of citys in those areas. We’re courting trouble by not placing a value on our sovereignty and our citizenship.
Worse yet if a US citizen goes into Mexico never mind illegaly but legally. They’ll get 2nd class treatment. Land ownership in title is prohibited period. And there are a slew of regulations they must comply with. Which doesn’t apply to a citizen of Mexico.
By not insisting on reciprocity particularly on those who have entered this country illegally we’re offering no incentive for assimilation and we’re not easing the burden for our fellow citizens who for what ever reason decided to live in Mexico.
ENOUGH OF THE ONE WORLD SOCIALISM ...BRING BACK SOVEREIGNTY AND SANITY TO OUR COUNTRY .....BRING BACK BELIEF IN GOD ..TIME TO GET THIS GOVERNMENT OUT OF OUR FACE..... OUR RELIGIONS..... AND OUR BEDROOMS..

What’s going to happen in the next few weeks, possibly by July 4th, the Senate will pass the amnesty bill.
At the same time the House is going to pass a Trojan horse bill that will sound good and that will secure the borders.
The problem with that is
they’re both going to be sent to conference committee,
where amnesty is going to be added to the Trojan horse bill.
The Senate will vote yes on final passage and send it to the House.
Led by Nancy Pelosi, the House Democrats will ALL vote for the bill
because it will assure permanent Democratic political majority,
and a few Republican committee chairs will provide the final votes needed for passage.
That way the president will have amnesty for illegals
and the country will be fast-tracked to permanent progressivism.
Contact your congresscritters and let them know YOU know. Alert all the people you can to do the same.

I agree with your analysis. I often word it that the average Roman citizen probably did not know Rome had fallen, they just went about their lives.
As far as "this is over" goes. I feel like our culture is over, replaced by technological and scientific advances that even further redefine (and mostly not for the better) who we are. I think we're at the last stand for the US as a country. If the hordes of invaders and legal residents that don't assimilate to the US doesn't end and we don't stop wasting our resources blowing things up all over the world and we don't become self-sufficient again, we're over. Like you said, we're probably already over and like the Romans just aren't that self-aware.
Which just goes to show they may not be stupid, just really slow. Do they finally see that lower-income blacks are being replaced by cheaper and more compliant hispanic labor? That those abandoned houses in their neighborhoods will soon be filled with hispanic invaders (profits for the banks...yeah!) and any race rioting that happens will involve blacks and the newly-minted legal residents? That their lousy culture will be replaced by an even worse culture? That the hispanics don't give a damn about descendents of slaves getting breaks/

The people were warned over & over about this massive LEGAL immigration since 1965 (over 40 million) and how it would change America....and most of our citizens could have cared less. Now the ruin is upon us & most Americans still can’t trace the dots.
