The numbers are in and former governor (Ill leave the phrase disgraced former governor to the sour grapes Democrat media) Mark Sanford beat comedian Steven Colberts sister. Since she lost there is no need to identify her as anything else because that is what she started as and that is what she remains.
Congressman-elect Mark Sanford got 54% and even though Steven Colberts sisters name was on two lines and South Carolina allows aggregate vote counting she got 45%.
One of the lines Steven Colberts sister was on was the Working Family Partys. This is a Communist/George Soros bought and paid for bunch that has been run out of many districts across the country.
There are several factors in Congressman-elect Sanfords victory worth focusing on.
Sanford won because he is a fiscal conservative which is just what people want. When he was the Governor of South Carolina he was fiscally conservative enough to decline to live in the state mansion and lived at home. His wife bought her clothes off the rack at Walmart.
He won because he tied Steven Colberts sister to Nancy Pelosi which is something stupid people like those who run the Republican National Committee should take note of.
He won because the voters in this district are very sophisticated they were the same people who looked at Tim Scott a Black man and Strom Thurmonds son in a primary and voted for Scott because he more closely represented their views. The dopes in RNCC might consider this fact as they tremble under their desks the next time they are called racists.
He won because the Democrats have succeeded in making sexual indiscretions a non- issue even for Republicans in the Deep South. This is something else the dummies in RNCC
I'm not sure if that means that Republican voters have be come more forgiving than they have in the past, or if it means some people have come to realize that chasing shamed Republicans from office is a strategic error when the other side doesn't do that to their corrupt members.
Curious...
Either way, it doesn’t bode well for this country.
He didn’t resign. Voters in SC begged him to quit and leave.
Jenny Sanford was an established investment banker, and her family was not a bunch of lawyers but from the Skil Tool manufacturers.
And if she "used" him, pray tell, what did she get out of the deal?
When Sanford's supporters try to tell lies about Jenny in order to make CrazyPants look good, there will be those who tell you about it!
I just wish SHE had run for the seat.
It's not that difficult to figure out. Protected minorities (blacks, Hispanics and native Americans) have a pretty good deal. Affirmative action helps these minorities get into good colleges and good jobs. Scholarships reserved for these minorities fund a lot of college students belonging to these groups. If the GOP wants to attract the protected minority vote, it will have to stop attacking the special privileges to which they have become accustomed.
You could say to the aristocrats of old that their inherited wealth and privileges were making them weak, and they would have laughed at you. Affirmative action essentially creates a class of hereditary aristos, and there are plenty who use that elevated status to get ahead, including people like Obama and his wife. The question isn't why blacks vote for Democrats; it's clear that the Democratic party has harnessed the resources of the white majority towards handing out freebies to protected minorities. It's why any white person votes for the Democrats.
Unfortunately the "Great Society" plan of the 60s Democrats worked perfectly. They destroyed the black family structure via welfare, raising the illegitimacy rate from 15% to near 80%.
Now all these black people are dependent on govt and vote accordingly.
But he is due in court on Thursday to answer a trespassing charge from Jenny. He was sneaking into his old house, in defiance of a court order.
I keep telling ya'll, he's a NUT.
Your comment has some validity, but the overwhelming majority of blacks in America are not the “protected EEO aristocrats” but “poor” folks taking advantage of a huge variety of govt handouts.
But both segments are reliable Democrat voters.
It’s also a wonder that any non-protected minority (Asians, Muslims, Jews) votes for the Democrats, given that they are being milked for tax dollars to subsidize protected minorities.
They have a choice between goofing off and making like Obama. Their white counterparts don't. That makes them aristos. Obama is a lazy no-good so-and-so. But because he's a member of a protected minority, he's gotten a free ride from the media. Similar things happen with respect to members of protected minorites at corporations around the country - they can slack off and still get ahead. The GOP has been working against quotas for decades. Why would protected minorities work against their own interests? Affirmative action makes every protected minority a blue blood without having to be born into a blue-blooded family. The academic admission and hiring standards for protected minorities vs whites are literally a standard deviation apart.
These, of course, are the same people that, if the results were reversed, would be crowing about how The Voice Of The People Has Been Heard.
One called Sanford an "odious immoral hypocrite who cheated on his wife and lied to the public"...and she's a HUGE Clinton fangirl.
Excuse me while I tinkle myself laughing.
Another said, "We really have no idea if they voted for Sanford or not. They make an input on computer screens, vulnerable-easily-hacked software runs, a result is reported. That result may be a tally of votes, or what some hacker/insider wanted it to be, or the effect of a programming bug -- no one knows or will ever know. There are no ballots to count or re-count -- it's an entirely faith-based. Any resemblance to democracy is purely cosmetic."
What I find especially interesting is (a) the US Justice Department monitored the voting in Charleston County, in which Sanford won, and most especially (b) this was the first election in SC in which one WAS REQUIRED TO SHOW I.D. TO VOTE.
~raises eyebrow~
Don't get me wrong - I've got no dog in this hunt. I'd prefer that our politicians were honest, moral, intelligent human beings. What I don't like is the amazing hypocrisy of the left.
Thanks for the info, but I didn’t even know he was divorced and used the custody line as a lead-in to a punch line!
To a point, yes, absolutely.
But then there are the ones who go over board with their hatred and bitterness. They should try to temper the damage it does to their children that both parents don't turn into scumbags. Writing a book about the intricacies of the marriage falls into that category, so does leaking sealed court documents to the press to screw over the other parent after publicly claiming to leaving it all alone for the "children's sake".
Jenny Sanford has over spent her sympathy card.
I agree!
Turnout matters too.
Quite a bit has been made recently about how blacks had a higher turnout % than whites in 2012. I’d like to see the turnout numbers from this election because they might be the only thing from it that points the way to what 2014 will look like.
Black voters in North Charleston couldn’t vote in this district because they have been switched to Jim Clyebun’s 6th district.
There was some anger over redistricting but there was still a 20% turnout (100k voted).
