So, did Obama just 'Specter' Max Baucus?

One of the most consistent media themes of the last few years has been the “divisive” efforts of conservatives to “drive people out” of the Republican Party.” You probably noticed this in stories about Charlie Crist and Arlen Specter, both of whom were described as being “driven” from the party even though both left in the face of certain defeat at the hands of primary voters.

...But now we have today’s retirement announcement by Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont. As recently as last Wednesday, Baucus was acting like a senator seeking re-election. He was attempting to distance himself from Obamacare (a bill he basically wrote). Also last week his campaign announced a quarterly fundraising haul of $1.5 million, giving him $5 million cash on hand.

So what happened? Baucus voted against gun control. And in response, Organizing for Action...

Don’t even try to call Baucus a conservative. He is just as much a leftists as Obama. he just knew how to keep from being one when he was up for re-election. That is until he spearheaded Obamacare.

Problem is Baucus actually believed the MSM line that Americans were supportive of nationalizing our healthcare system, and all the conservative tricks befor election time will not fix that big error of sponsoring the bill that took over 1/8 of our economy.

No, Baucus is no conservative, and never has been.

From the article linked....

...Jon Carson, executive director of Organizing for Action, told the Los Angeles Times / Tribune Washington Bureau on Thursday that the group will train its resources against the 45 senators who opposed the legislation, including Democrats Max Baucus of Montana, Mark Begich of Alaska, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and Mark Pryor of Arkansas.

“What is happening right now is the reason that OFA needs to be here: to harness the energy and determination of people,” Carson said…

Yikes! Wonder if the RNC will lend them a hand, rather than go for the opportunities.

The truth is, I suspect, the same as with my turncoat RINO here in Georgia, Saxby Chambliss.

He’s tired of lying and trying to reconcile and justify his actions in Washington DC with lies he tells his constituents back home when he makes those unpleasant trips there.

He’s been there long enough to get that very comfortable generous retirement from the Senate, he’s had the opportunity to set himself up with post-office seats on multiple Corporations Boards (bribes after the fact), academic opportunities, speeches, and let’s just face it, all the friggin’ money they stole, took in bribes and misappropriated during their careers. It isn’t party specific. That’s what I think about my Senator here in Georgia, too.

Ideologically vapid, accomplished congenital liars and no good people. That’s what they are.

Words the Democrats took to heart in the 2012 Missouri senate race, the 2012 Indiana senate race, the 2008 Delaware senate race, the 2010 Nevada senate race....

Only if Obama is insane enough to think an Elizabeth Warren or Tammy Baldwin could win Montana.

Baucus knew the Obamacare mess would be laid at his feet, and it is indefensible.
He was going to lose.

You forgot the loss in Indiana.

That would not have been a pick up. Had the GOP won they would have retained the seat. Instead they blew that one too.

The way the Republicans have given up “Winable” Senate seats in the last 2 elections borders on lunacy. Wonder how they will screw it up this time?

Do not count on it for a minute. Montana just re-elected that slimeball Tester and it was not even close. The Rats will just bankroll a Losertarian and he will pick up 10% of the Republican vote; enough to put their 'conservative' Democrat candidate over.

They have perfected that formula in Montana, North and South Dakota and they can pull it off easily. Especially if the tea party gets idiots like O'Donnell, Angle, Akin, Mourdock, Joe Miller (Alaska) the Republican nomination.

My thoughts are;
The GOB in the GOP would rather lose a general election to a Democrat than lose a primary to a conservative or especially a Tea Party Conservative.
So I would venture the guess that Montana will stay Democrat.
