G-men interviewed Chicago mobster Jimmy "the Monk" Allegretti only a week after the November 22, 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy in order to determine whether he had any connections to Jack Ruby who on November 24 had killed supposed assassin Lee Harvey Oswald according to the recently released FBI file on Allegretti.
Allegretti was the Rush Street crew boss who ran the vice rackets -- gay bars, strip clubs, whore houses, gambling dens -- from the mid-1940s to the mid-1960s on the Near North Side for Chicago Outfit underboss Ross Prio, and in the FBI interview he denied knowing Ruby although with typical wise guy attitude "indicated that he was not sure whether he would be willing to discuss him if he would have any information concerning this man."

According to this same report the FBI also suspected gay bar operator Nate Zuckerman as an Allegretti associate, and interviewed either him or an employee – the name is redacted – at the Front Page Lounge at Rush and Grand Streets who similarly disclaimed knowing Ruby.

The FBI interview with Allegretti confirms that it was interested in a possible mob connection to the Kennedy assassination from the very beginning.

Hubert Humphry was a good friend of Jack Ruby’s brother according to a Minneapolis police detective. If I recall, the brother was a union official and possibly a thug. But then I am being redundant.

My statement regarding the mobster Jimmy Allegretti has NOTHING to do with unsubstantiated allegations of involvement in the JFK assassination.

I thought JFK’s White House tapes (HE installed the taping system that eventually brought Nixon down) were supposed to be released at the 50 year mark. Don’t know about assassination files being so embargoed.
And wonder how many 8 minute gaps (or “unplayable” tapes) will be discovered when the public is finally able to shed some light on the Kennedy White House.
LBJ’s tapes revealed scandals like permitting a bank merger in exchange for a signed letter from a someone involved in the Houston Chronicle to only give his administration positive press. Also revealed a humorous cut with him telling a tailor how to cut the crotch in his pants.

Then is there a place where we can see where our overlords have gone to on our dime? The only official reason I can see going to Columbia is to stop the coke flow. I see no reason to go to Thailand (other than a vacation) and I’d like to see which politicians vacation at both place on our dollars.
