Just how many so-called 'new Americans' are we talking about?
In 1986, President Ronald Reagan granted amnesty .... At the time, we were told that population was about 1.5 million. However, amnesty was actually granted to three million of those who crossed our borders illegally.
Between 1987 and 2005, the average annual number of apprehensions made at the U.S./Mexican border was roughly 1.3 million, with arrests reaching a peak of 1.6 million in 2000.
However, in June 2010, former president of the National Border Patrol Council, T.J. Bonner told Fox News that for every person caught trying to enter this country illegally over the U.S./Mexican border at least two more successfully make it here.
"Were about 33 percent effective. It's like shoveling sand against the tide," said Bonner.
So, using Bonners rather conservative estimate, 41.8 million illegal aliens have entered the U.S. since the 1986 amnesty.
DHS also deports those who entered the country legally on legitimate visas, but who either committed a crime while here or simply overstayed their visa.
So, we do not know exactly how many removals involved those who crossed into the U.S., by eluding the Border Patrol. However, when the DHS is deporting 400,000 foreign nationals while an estimated 1 million crossed the border illegally that same year it is obvious that the federal government is losing ground each and every year.
Furthermore, when you consider that all of the amnesty bills proposed since 2006, contain a provision to eventually allow each amnestied illegal alien, to then bring 4 to 5 relatives to the U.S., you are looking at a truly astounding number of individuals.
If Congress does pass an amnesty bill, the resulting chain-migration could translate into an additional 200 million new U.S. citizens, or legal residents, practically overnight.

Levin was all over this like white on rice yesterday. He had a great fact that 2/3 of the Mexicans in US that are ALREADY eligible for citizenship are not applying for it.
Nearly two-thirds of the 5.4 million legal immigrants from Mexico who are eligible to become citizens of the United States have not yet taken that step. Their rate of naturalization36%is only half that of legal immigrants from all other countries combined, according to an analysis of Census Bureau data.

So Amnesty is provability the great train robbery of the 21st century. The people that it is for don’t even want it! This is about domestic U.S. politics. The elites want to control the middle class and this is one of the ways to do it. Nothing short of treason on the part of the GOP to go along with this.
50 thousand is a drop in the bucket.
“Youre telling me that more than 4/5ths of Mexicans would pack up and leave to come to America? “
I NEVER said that. Since you can’t follow a conversation, I won’t bother with you again.
Yeah you did. You said 100 million Chinese + Mexicans.
Which is ludicrious - there aren’t even 25 million that would willingly go to America.
At least we’ve established that your positions are based on hysteria and not evidence.
“Yeah you did. You said 100 million Chinese + Mexicans.”
NO, I did not! BE careful about someone elses quote, I said NO SUCH THING. If you can’t keep up, GET OUT!
Show it or SHUT UP.

C’mon, smart guy...point out where I said there are 100 million chinese in this country!!! NOW!
All you’ve got is insults! WHAT is your point???? If you’re for amnesty or open borders, just say so! But STOP LYING about what people say!
In fact the link I posted estimated "22 million" Chinese "would likely come" - but to this you would have to add their spouses and children (and maybe their parents and siblings).
I mainly posted to give a grasp of how the HIGH the worldwide numbers really are and how CLUELESS Rand Paul is when (in his recent speech on idea of immigration reform) he said:
"If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you."
I’m waiting!!!
How funny, it's estimated there are 25 million more Chinese men entering marriageable age than Chinese women.
though you're probably right; Chinese think American women are ignorant sluts.
To put it in perspective, present migration rate is just over a million and a half people a year, or about .4 percent. Demand at present is about 6x this, or what would be 2 percent immigration per year.
However, this is just at present. Those numbers are going to change. Thanks to Obama, America now has a long term deficit of about 600k people per year, about 40 percent of the present immigration rate.
If the people shortage increases while the immigration demand to the United States drops, it would be quite possible to see US total immigration demand be less than the present worker shortage (as we see in China, Japan and most of eastern Europe).
Paul might be wrong today, but he won’t be wrong for long.
Oh, I’m for amnesty because I’m arguing for sensible numbers vis-a-vis immigration demand to the United States? You can’t make good policy unless you are working with real numbers.
STop trying to change the subject. STILL WAITING FOR YOU TO SHOW THE QUOTE YOU ACCUSED ME OF MAKING!!! PUT UP OR SHUT UP!
Here, I’ll make it easy on you...here are all my posts so you don’t have to sort through every post on this thread.

Thanks, lodi90, I heard that but didn’t catch his source.

The most interesting point, which proves Mexicans do NOT want to be part of this nation, only bleed it for what they can get while they remain loyal to Mexico is this...
“Their rate of naturalization36%is only half that of legal immigrants from all other countries combined, according to an analysis of Census Bureau data.”
It is frustrating for me to see some claim that there isn’t enough money to deport them.. yet, those same people don’t stop and consider how much MORE it would cost keeping them, here, supporting them... o.O
a bus ticket out compared to 2050 years of supporting them?! Heck, MANY Americans would donate their own moeny to get the the heck out of here.... $$$ problem? I don’t think so.
Like B says, put up or shut up!
Lets see it...
Right now!
Nope. They are already counted for the purposes of allotting Congressional Districts. Don’t you remember all the effort the census went to to count illegals?
The gov numbers are bogus.
I know one apartment complex in Houston with at least 20,000 illegals. They must be packing about 10 into each apartment. Every morning it looks like an ant hill as they pour out. I would put the number of Hispanic illegals at 30M minimum.
In addition, you never see the vast millions of Chinese and Vietnamese here. They stay off the streets and are much less visible than the Hispanics. I have seen many manufacturing plants with hundreds of Asians working three shifts where no one speaks English except the boss.
So you’re retracting your claim that I support amnesty? Thank you. :)
