ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Darden Restaurants (DRI), struggling to draw more customers into its Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants, said Friday that its third-quarter profit could fall below Wall Street's expectations and cut its outlook for the year.

The Orlando, Fla.-based chain has tried to revamp menus and marketing for its flagship chains. But revenue at Olive Garden, Red Lobster and LongHorn Steakhouse locations open at least one year is expected to fall 4.5 percent in the quarter ending Feb. 24, indicating those efforts have yet to pay off...

If you want good food, fast, good service, go to In and out. They only do one thing, you can have a burger,a double, two doubles. Always fresh as can be. Fast.even their drive in moves. Cheaper than Micky D or B.King..Love em..+

In general, I find when out with the kids in those chains, they torment us... by being slow.

With children at 7 & 5 there is a window of opportunity to get in, get food on the table, and get out before the kids get restless.

Every one of them...Applebee’s to Red Robin, Olive Garden and Longhorn, it seems that there is no care taken to get these families in, seated and served in a reasonable time frame. The kids are always bouncing off the walls by the time any food comes, and they are simply unmanageable after 60 minutes in a restaurant.

There is a local place we go, where the owner knows us now, and we are seated and there is something on the table for the kids to nibble on, within minutes of being seated. We order, and the food comes we begin eating and the bill is on the table, we pay it and we are out of there in 30-45 minutes. No trying to up-sell us on deserts or whatever.

It makes going out....a pleasure instead of a nightmare like Olive Garden, Longhorn, Red Lobster, and even Red Robin.

Maybe if the food didn’t suck, the results might be better.

“You think Boehner would have figured out how to out smart the DemonRAT tricks”
**********
You’ve zeroed in on a fundamental problem here: after all these years of repeatedly falling victim to the Democrat playbook, why can’t Republicans figure things out? I guess they really are the Stupid Party.

Actually, I’ve thought about this for some time and, if you watch Obama and the Dems in action, they are pretty predictable. Now if you and I can figure this out what’s up with the Republicans? A possoble answer is that Repbulicans get comfortable with life in DC and are content with being bystanders just watching the show, albeit from good seats. The real players on the field are the Democrats.

The Republican motto appears to be: “To get along, go along.”

Regards.

“More than that - I believe that Olive Garden changed their menu to “align” with Michelle’s wishes. I’ve eaten there once, it was Never Ending Pasta Bowl, and I didn’t notice a difference (still never-ending salad and bread sticks too). But I suspect that a lot of people were put off. I know I won’t go there anymore, except for that special, which is like once a year.”

I had forgotten about that. You are correct:

Don’t have In and Out here, otherwise I would be happy to give them a try.

Skip it... they're disgusting, worse than Burger King or Jack and the Box by a mile...
