After a mini-controversy about a claim from President Obama that he shoots clay pigeons at Camp David, the White House released a photo of Obama shooting a $2500 Browning Citori shotgun. Problem: It doesnt look like the Presidents watch. And that leaves aside why the President is shooting a fancy Japanese-made gun instead of a down-to-earth Mossberg or Remington.
I didn’t know that! It’s too bad, because they’re wonderful shotguns. I had heard they discontinued the 800, and had so many requests, that they restarted production. Mine is quite a beautiful piece, probably late Sixties, early Seventies. I’ll have to check the serial number. All I can say is that my scores rose immediately upon first use.
Yes, as well as his shirt.
Apparently, he had to change into his skeet clothes.
LOL.
Did he switch pants too? Those don't appear to be mom jeans either. And who wears dark shakes like that when they're shooting (or is that common)?
Observations other than the watch:
Note the gas discharge the the right of the barrel. The barrel must have been ported to reduce recoil.
Note the shiny object at the muzzle of the top barrel. What is it? It is a bore reducing sleeve? If so it must have been ported just like the barrel.
No, it is probably not his gun. It was probably a fixture at Camp David, unless it was just a prop for the photo shoot.
Many have noted there is no apparent recoil.
Many have noted that he does not appear to be looking down the barrel.
Yep, the photo is revealing of Obozo.
SKB USA may not have records on when yours was made, but they do carry parts if you need them (not likely the way these were made)

Here’s some shotgun porn I posted a while back.

We had 2 Browning Citori’s. A 20 gauge and a 12 gauge for sporting clays as well as our Beretta 391 autoloader. We got rid of the Brownings to make another purchase of a liberation weapon. Kept the Beretta.
Notice in the pic of Obooboo with his gun only one choke showing. He should have a choke in each tube and there is too much smoke coming out the end of that barrel. He has the gun way too high on his shoulder and he is not in a shooter’s stance. This pic was so photoshopped its total BS.
What’s that skeet doing sitting still out there for him? LOL!!
I’ve got a 20ga SKB Ithaca Model 200E, 25 inch barrels choked skeet/skeet, hell of a quail gun.
The only time I went sheet shooting, I took a $100 Revelation pump shotgun. I got a lot of looks down their noses, but I think I shot pretty well.
$2500 for a sheet shooters is a cheap gun. Some of those guys have $20,000 Italian shotguns.
I shot a Krieghoff for a couple years, I hear ya’.
Eh.....he shanked it.
Most of that has already been noted but what I’m not seeing is the back fence. The skeet range at Camp David is circular and goes from house to house. If he’s on station either that wall or the High House should be to his right. the background in this picture is not from the skeet range at Camp David.
Google shows the fence to still be there.
The Award Winning News Department of my blog says something else.
Slim,
Thanks for the info! I’ll give them a shout and see if they can date it.
“not likely the way these were made”
Abdo-lutely true! It’s still as tight as when I bought it, after having thousands of rounds run through it. And,,,, it’s beautiful!
Had to sell my Dad’s Krieghoff 4 barrel set when he passed. Hated to do it. Detwiller, Koloch (spelling on both?) Lots of Gold. An amazing set. But by that time, value had dropped from $22,000 to about $15,000, as everyone had gone to tubes.
I think they’re so obsessed with maintaining the “Potemkin Village” that is Obama, that they lose sight of the details. He is the supreme exemplar for the Empty Suit. To our extreme detriment, there is a puppet master behind the village bent on our destruction. sd
Dockweiler made some beautiful K32’s... I’ve seen a few up close.
Yeah, tubes make a lot of sense, but those 4 barrel sets are just classy. I know a couple guys who still shoot them.
I switched from skeet to sporting a couple years ago, having a sporting range open 6 miles from my house made the decision easy.
Still like shooting skeet with the .410 though.
391’s rule.
