While the title says it all, I thought a goodbye was in order.
While I've been a FReeper for well over a decade, I must declare that it is time to part ways. While I have the greatest respect for a great many of you, the days where I can in good conscience remain silent about the issues that set me apart from the rest of FReeperdom have past. For clarity, or perhaps catharsis, I'm not entirely certain which, I'll lay them out on the table an call the ZOT™ down upon myself.
The racism: I just can't handle it anymore. FR has become increasingly racist since President Obama took office, and enforcement has dropped. Now, not a single crime can be reported with an "amish" comment, and I've yet to see a post express embarrassment or shame when lo and behold sometimes the perpetrators turned out to be lily white.
Homosexuality: FR is on the wrong side of history on this one, and I'll just leave it at that.
Mostly though, it's the hate. More and more posts reference violent solutions to political disagreements. Some subtly couched, others make no pretense. I wouldn't be surprised at all if I read in the morning paper that a FReeper murdered a federal bureaucrat or a federal judge.
I've learned so much, from so many of you, and for that I'm grateful. I genuinely and truly wish all of you well, and sincerely hope you all live out the rest of your lives in happiness.

perhaps you’ve been asleep for the past 4 years. Particularly the last 18 months when Obama and his campaign made it clear that they would not seek the White, working mans support.
And then took an “us vs. them” posture,, complete with rallying minorities to “get revenge” on their “enemies”.

Excellent Opus thread, at least above average. We have:
1. An initial opus based entirely on supposition and emotional reaction, not fact (as a bonus, this also contradicts exactly what the OP claimed about himself) - Check!
2. While it started off slow, with even some regretting his departure, this merely served as a tease, to whet the appetite so to speak, as later old forum divisions and/or animosities began to arise - Check!
3. It is currently ongoing, which this may provide further popcorn entertainment for 47 on an obviously slow workday - Check!
4. Meanings of posts misunderstood; this is equally distributed throughout the thread, peppering it with a not so subtle yet delicious spice. - Check!
5. Finally, the forum owner’s attention has been requested on numerous occasions, offering the promise of promoting the opus to “epic” status should he contribute to the melee. -Check!
Five stars! Thank you Melas for your self centered gravitas! If it weren’t for you this would be a truly hellacious day of intermidible hours upon hours of boredom! (I currently don’t have enough personal time to just bag the day, so I’m stuck in an inhuman cube)

Anyone agreeing with that statement needs to explain why the insertion of a penis into the anus of another man makes for a good system of government or society. Then needs to explain how they can support homo-anything and claim to be a conservative with a straight face.

As to why he is not called out on a regular basis or banned outright, I’ll never know.
