A sad announcement - Lost guns, so sad.
Protein wisdom ^ | December 20, 2012 | Jeff G

Posted on 12/20/2012 2:56:33 PM PST by HammerT

I know I probably shouldn’t have done it — especially because yesterday was a snowy day with the temperature here in Colorado dipping well below freezing — but on a whim I took all my guns and ammunition out in a small skiff on one of the nearby lakes and, sad to say, the boat capsized when I stupidly tried to prove to myself that I could do it Gangnam style, even in an inherently unbalanced situation, while also tending to a fishing pole.

All my firearms and my ammo stockpile is now, as a consequence, sleeping with the fishes.

Just so you know. All you who are reading here. And no, I have no plans to replace them at this point. Because children.

Yes dear, it does.
Many Freepers were very unsympathetic to the large group of us who all lost our entire collections during the 1st Freeper swap meet/canoe trip.

Ugly, ugly threads that were deleted by the admin mods.

I think it's very brave of HammerT to admit to a similar error in judgement, after all that was said on those older deleted threads.

We have all learned important lessons about water safety, and the importance of properly sealed weapon cases.

All jokes aside, I kept my M-1 Carbine in a sling on the fender of my tractor whilst I bush hogged. I was mowing underneath a large oak tree and one of the limbs swept over my head, hit my carbine and brushed it off underneath the mower. One can imagine what the blades did to the carbine when it usually can chew up a stump. All the gunsmith could do was declare it deader than a hammer.

“Does the endlessly posted lost in a lake shite really need it’s own thread?”

The thread is for you so you don’t have to read it on other gun threads. So—don’t read this thread.

To all of us that lost our gun(s). Lets all now put “Gun Free Zone” signs in our yards and we will all be safe as hell.

If the world doesn't end by noon I plan to donate mine to the Syrian rebels so they can advance the religion of peace. I think it will be a great winter solstice outreach jest-ure.

You think that is bad? Well, mine are so smart they somehow undid the combo lock of my safe from the inside and wandered off. They are currently at large. Scary times!

“Sorry for the buzzkill, but, uh-wake up, folks...”

Perhaps you don't know the “code” with guns going overboard. If yours didn't go overboard, yours can be found.

Actually, mine drowned and went down the drain a short time ago. I put two doggie beds in the washer, thinking the washer could do two beds - and it couldn't. My water alarm in there went off and I took off to the laundry room. There wasn't enough room for all that water in the washer along with two doggie beds, so it overflowed and washed my guns down the drain with the overflowed water.

Stuff happens.

Well, actually I lost mine in a card game. This weekend a bunch of us got together for a good game of cards over some money. One of the guys brought a guy he recently met who had driven in from Texas. I was doing so good and thought for sure I could take the game, winning me some more Christmas money. I was wrong, I lost them all. So the guy drove back to Texas with them. Good luck getting them back. I’m very saddened.

Technically, the cop that asked me why I kept the 1911 between computer A and computer 2, knows where mine is. And why I keep it there.

I asked him if there was room for his lardy butt up there between the two. I keep a firearm because cops cost a lot to feed. And a cop wouldn't fit in that limited space.

I'm less afraid of death than I am of tyrants.

See, I told you libs say guns kill people - you got really smart ones who could hack out of your safe. I’d say keep a gun on your always in case those smart ones come back and try to shoot you. Pesky thinking guns.

who takes their guns out on a boat?

You never duck hunted? What kind of red-neck are you, anyhow?

Note that the "jokester" said that he took "ALL of his guns and ammunition" out on a boat. That is part of what I had reference to. Usually, that's exactly what Freepers post, i.e., that they lost ALL their guns and ammunition in a "tragic" (it's always "tragic") boating accident.

It's not plausible and it's not funny. That, sir, is my point.

No, I don't hunt at all. And I'm no redneck, despite the moniker (I hunted possums as a youngster and acquired the nickname of "Possum"; now, I'm an OldPossum).

Perhaps there is a Starbucks Coffee thread you might like better.

Aw... You don't find it funny.

Well, I expect we should just quit the hoo-rahing and horseplay and shut down this thread.

If you've never been called a stick in the mud... this is your special day.

I would get another gun to protect me from the others but finding a low to no IQ gun is damn near impossible! I’m thinking really strong rare earth magnets Placed strategically around my property should keep me safe from those renegade killers!

Wow!! And, I thought it was just me!

I was Jet Skiing this past summer and I took a turn too fast and lo’ and behold, guns and ammo gone like a cheap hooker!!

Sad to say, though, I have heard reports that a gang of crappy have been shooting up schools of lake trout at the same lake where I lost my guns . . . . . . . . . . !!

I would imagine that some will begin what I,d call a sniper guerrilla war at places and times of their choosing, rather than confronting them directly.

Oh Hell, you and the rest of your playmates can play your juvenile “joke” indefinitely, it’s no skin off my ass.

I was just pointing out how this particular FR “joke” has worn thin and tiresome and that it was never really funny when introduced a decade ago.

Adios. I’m gone.
