I know I probably shouldnt have done it especially because yesterday was a snowy day with the temperature here in Colorado dipping well below freezing but on a whim I took all my guns and ammunition out in a small skiff on one of the nearby lakes and, sad to say, the boat capsized when I stupidly tried to prove to myself that I could do it Gangnam style, even in an inherently unbalanced situation, while also tending to a fishing pole.
All my firearms and my ammo stockpile is now, as a consequence, sleeping with the fishes.
Just so you know. All you who are reading here. And no, I have no plans to replace them at this point. Because children.
don’t you just hate it when that happens.....
What a pity!
OMG! You too?
Same thing happened to me. It was a shame. I thought it would be fun to go on a canoe ride down the Sabine river. Splash. All lost. And those catfish are just too big to risk going after them.
This happens far too much with gun owners I think the NRA should change their name to the National Raft Association and provide boating education.
Maybe a diver can recover them.
Oh, gosh, me too! I hate when that happens. Mine are at the bottom of the Great Falls area in the Potomac. There’s no way they could be recovered from there—too dangerous. :-((
There’s been a rash of that happening lately. Tragic, really.
It is literally 5 minutes to midnight (the end of the world).
Thanks for reminding me - LoL!
It’s bad enough reading this in the comments on EVERY gun thread. Does the endlessly posted lost in a lake shite really need it’s own thread?
How weird me also. This is becoming an epidemic.
A BoatUS membership, the perfect compliment to your NRA Life member card.
Well.. how did you lose YOURS?
Dang. Same thing happened to me, and I live in the South. Go figure.
Does the endlessly posted lost in a lake shite really need its own thread?
Yes, yes it does, thanks for asking.
Ed’s Underwater Salvage and Firearms - may I help you?
That’s all well and good. But I use mine. And always have an AR in the trunk of my vehicle. So, they ban them, I get pulled over, they find the AR. And then what?
Unless you have ever been faced with your guns being confiscated, and I have, then this “from my cold dead hands” crap sounds good. If I had followed that line of thinking then you would have been reading about me and my fugitive, or dead status, about one year ago today.
He said he marked the bottom of the boat but it was a rental.
