Looking for sites useful for research

Could someone help me out, please? I'm hoping to find a couple good reference sites as useful tools for the future. I'd like to be able to research the following:

1) How much revenue the US government received on a particular year.

2) What the deficit/surplus was per month or year.

3) How much was the National Debt on a particular year.

So could someone please point me to any such sites? I'd appreciate it very much. Thank you.

I suggest Wolfram Alpha. For example, type in the query national debt USA by year or us tax revenue by year.

I found a website the other day which gave you the deficit month by month and you could make excel tables out of the data

The pros call that a time series. So, you could google for federal debt download time series and see if you get lucky.

When formulating search terms, it's always best to learn and use the terminology the insiders in a field use.

You could also try federal debt time series csv, on the theory that downloadable tabular data is most likely to be made available in csv format. You could also try xls, xlsx, xml, etc.

The Monthly Treasury Statement. There are links at the site to excel files with monthly data back to 1981.
