One Year Anniversary of DADT Repeal
Flopping Aces ^ | 09-26-12 | CJ

Posted on 09/26/2012 4:52:56 PM PDT by Starman417

WARNING: This post is full of sarcasm and bloviation. It reflects my own personal opinions and does necessarily reflect those of this site or any branch of government. If you are prone to calling people who disagree with homosexual conduct “bigots” you may not want to read any further. Otherwise, I’ll call you a bigot for not respecting my beliefs. Bigot! Stick and stones may break my bones...yadda yadda.

Yippee! I feel like frolicking through the corn rows in those sexy Marine PT shorts and big, pink sash in celebration. I’m so excited that the military and our federal government is so focused on the sex lives of gays while we are falling apart at the seams. It makes me proud (no pun intended) to be a part of such a monumental social engineering and experimentation project gone wrong.

Yes, folks. September 20th marked the one year anniversary of President Obama signing the repeal of the so-called “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” law. The president was so overjoyed, he even sent out a press release to ensure that Americans were made aware of the sex lives of a super-small percentage of US troops:

A year ago today, we upheld the fundamental American values of fairness and equality by finally and formally repealing ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.’ Gay and lesbian Americans now no longer need to hide who they love in order to serve the country they love. It is a testament to the professionalism of our men and women in uniform that this change was implemented in an orderly manner, preserving unit cohesion, recruitment, retention and military effectiveness. As Commander in Chief, I’ve seen that our national security has been strengthened because we are no longer denied the skills and talents of those patriotic Americans who happen to be gay or lesbian. The ability of service members to be open and honest about their families and the people they love honors the integrity of the individuals who serve, strengthens the institutions they serve, and is one of the many reasons why our military remains the finest in the world.

Isn't that sweet? I just can’t wait until we’re allowed to celebrate the one-year anniversary of allowing fraternization, incest, and polygamy within the ranks and truly celebrate sexual deviancy in ALL its forms. After all, it’s okay for two men or women to get it on, but not an officer and NCO or me and my cousin. Odd. I wonder if it’s fraternization if it’s a gay officer and gay NCO? Then they could just claim they were targeted for being gay and not fraternization.

But, seriously, I take offense to this statement - “It is a testament to the professionalism of our men and women in uniform that this change was implemented in an orderly manner, preserving unit cohesion, recruitment, retention and military effectiveness.” Here’s the thing – I haven’t seen, heard of or met a single openly gay Soldier in the past year. I don’t see same-sex couples shopping at the commissary or PX. I don’t see them holding hands walking around the common areas or barracks. There is nothing “orderly” about forcing troops to accept deviant sexual behaviors (my opinion) or else face punishment.

In the past year, I have a seen a few stories about how “successful” the repeal has been. The Army Times recently quoted an independent report that said “the military has reported no substantial problems as a result of allowing gays to serve openly in uniform.” But, what it doesn’t tell you is that either gays are still staying in the proverbial closet or there really aren’t as many as we were led to believe that are hanging up their rainbows in exchange for camouflage.

While our media – including the tabloid-prone Military Times magazines – has gone through great strains to highlight people like Brigadier General Tammy Smith’s recent (legally unrecognized) marriage to her girlfriend, the fact is that most troops still are opposed to such relationships.

That photo is disgusting beyond belief.

A brigadier general in the 82d Airborne just got busted in theater for sodomy & other charges. Sex of “partner” not mentioned so we know what that means.

I retired last year. What’s become of our military?

I did a check of the military reports of Sexual Assaults which are tracked by whether it is same sex or not and if you compare the year prior to DADT repeal the report encompassing the period after the repeal there is a spike of same sex assaults. The assaults more than tripled. You have to go to the back of the reports where the spreadsheets with the detail data is but its just as expected sex assaults now that homosexuality is open in the military has increased dramatically. I was surprised to find that the military hadn’t censored the data. I’ve not had to time to break it down like I have before but. Compared to their very small population in the military homsexuals represent a very disproportionate number of assault cases. Those that are most at risk for such abuse are the new young recruits.

The military is going downhill, very fast. Good and honorable men are being forced out and replaced with "snot nosed punks" who can't fix an aircraft engine to save their lives.

It's no longer important to be able to do your job; you only have to to do # of situps, # number of push ups, and run the 1.5 mile in a certain time. God forbid if you should not be as fast as someone half your age.

Is my bitterness showing too much? I'm mad, and I'm sad, at what our once proud military is becoming. It's no longer, "the few, the proud."

. Sex of “partner” not mentioned so we know what that means.

It was heterosexual.....there was a thread about it earlier. (To those that inevitably ask - no, I am not going to search for a link. Hit the "next page" button a time or two and it should come up.)

Anyway, I agree with you that it is disgusting beyond belief. A lot of people I know are disgusted with what the military has become; I know I am.

I made the AIDS argument ad naseum prior to the repeal.....one FACT they don't mention in the article - if there is a mass casualty event, they call for X blood type and you go down and roll up your sleeve. They don't have time to test it before it winds up in the patient.

According to my wife (former Army medic) there are 2 individuals (unnamed - HIPPA and all) that received HIV from transfusions in Iraq from the hospital where she worked during her tour. This was pre-repeal of DADT.

Imagine how many we don't know about.

We need to forgo the repeal, forgo DADT, and go back to a no-homo policy.

I’m hearing the same thing from my son. He is pretty bummed. Mil service got considerably better after Clinton left, I’m hoping for the same when the current WH occupant gets the boot.

While I won't say I enjoyed your rant, I will say I agree with it.

So now it's OK to be openly “homosexual” in uniform.
Is it now also OK to openly be a sexually deviant heterosexual?

Having voluntarily abided under the UCMJ for eight years, I'm a little confused on how integrating self pronounced sexual deviants into the DOD is going to work out in an all volunteer force.

It is a testament to the professionalism of our men and women in uniform that this change was implemented in an orderly manner, preserving unit cohesion, recruitment, retention and military effectiveness.

Last time I checked, the rank and file of the Military have not choice but to follow the orders of those appointed over them, so that isn't professionalism, that is contracted servitude (but I don't recall the government offering unconditional releases to military personnel due to these unexpected and major-life-altering contract changes)! Also, recruitment and retention is still high because this pathetic excuse for a President has the economy so effed up that the military is just about the ONLY option for people 18-25! DUH! And last but not least - as it has been noted by others - the number of sexual assaults are up across ALL categories and will continue to be high simply because the military is now open to every single sexual deviant! When you see others being allowed to be proud of THEIR deviancy, you will find more people, under stress, delving into their deviant sides - it is already happening, but the MSM wouldn't report this information if it meant saving the entire world; they will hide this data for all they are worth!!!

Yeah, it was heterosexual rape of several subordinate females. Setting a fine example.

Plus conduct unbecoming, alcohol use in theater, falsifying travel vouchers, I mean how does one make BG and manage to be so dumb? Sheer arrogance I guess. When I was deployed I had opportunities for both sex & alcohol but since I was already well into my fifties I figured I was being set up by CID so I prudently refrained & later retired after promotion with my record & pension intact.

I mean suck it up & go for nine months or however long, do your job, save some dough, stay out of trouble, how difficult is that? My biggest problem was keeping my weight down & passing the PT test so it didn’t wind up on my evaluation report.
