I don't live in a battle ground state but I've noticed a lack of yard signs this year for politicians. Four years ago it seemed that everyone had a yard sign and Obama was everywhere, even here in southern Kentucky. I've seen a few bumper stickers on vehicles over by the university but really haven't seen a lot of them either.
I'm curious if anyone else could tell me if I'm just early or just in the wrong place to see the usual mania that the elections provide.
I keep seeing the polls and wonder if there's so much support then why am I not seeing tangible support for either candidate.
Nothing in Seattle either and we’ve been driving around Capitol Hill, Ballard, Lake City, and all the other foofoo neighborhoods! In 2008 Obama was EVERYWHERE and on EVERY THIRD CAR (especially SUVs, which ticked me off)
i live in Northern VA and i see NO obama signs, but i do see Romney. Now my 18 yo daughter volunteers for Romney so we have yard signs and have been giving them to neighbors and friends, but even apart from our’s i am seeing them. But in places which were blanketed with Obama signs four years ago, i see none. i have no idea what’s up.
Personally, I think it is apathy and disappointment and shame for the 2008 voters, and I think it is prudence on the part of those against Obama.
His voters aren’t enthusiastic, but if you let them know in their face with a bumper sticker or yard sign you are asking for a “Burger King Hissy Fit” on your lawn or at your car window. So it is quiet support.
Even in Atlanta or surrounding metro, I see far, far, far fewer Obama stickers on cars. Only one yard sign so far.
We have talked about this in several threads. There seems to be a significant reduction in the number of Obama bumper stickers and yard signs, as opposed to 2008. In 2008 they were all over the place. I drove from the NYC area to Boston, and back, this past weekend and saw two Obama bumper stickers ad o yard signs. IMO, this is a very good sign (pun intended!) for R&R!
Here in MA (Northeast corner) I see lots of signs for Scott Brown and the GOP candidate for 6th district, Rich Tisei. Though in a couple towns, Gloucester and Rockport, lots of signs for Obama/ Liz Warren/ John Tierney (Dem incumbent in MA-6). Romney has had tough time getting signs to people (or maybe they're getting ripped off?)
Good point. Very sparse in the Indy area.
I think people are just tired of it all and just want to get to the vote and get it over with, one way or the other.
Agreed. I think people expect trouble this time around.
Carr:
>>This time, theyd rubbed our noses in it. The moonbats not only kidnapped both Republican signs, but they replaced them with a Granny Warren sign AND two Barack Obama signs. (His wife) was livid. She called the cops the moonbat mob had been on a veritable crime wave that night, hitting at least three other houses in our neighborhood...Its the old double standard. They rip down my signs and defend it by saying dissent is the highest form of patriotism. Its civil disobedience, speaking truth to power. But if I rip down their signs, its a hate crime.
Either no money from both campaigns to fund free yard signs or the Print shops have all gone out of business, thanks to the narcissist’s economy!! I believe the latter!
I live in what is considered an upper middle class neighborhood in suburban Minneapolis. It trends liberal, and my very liberal state senator lives just up the street from me. Every presidential year, I walk around my neighborhood and count the presidential campaign signs. In 2008 I counted 12 Obama signs and 1 McCain sign (mine). This year, there are 2 Obama signs and 1 Romney (mine).
The only place we’ve seen a concentration of yard signs is on Deer Isle in Maine. In this relatively small area a couple of dozen Obama signs. No GOP signs. I think that most of the properties with the signs were the homes or shops of “artisans.”
I NH, very few Obama signs. Starting to see a few more Obama stickers. What is curious is the dems that have signs for the state reps races and US congress races but not Obama signs. Either they are disgruntled or they do not want to admit they are voting for Obama again.
Meanwhile Romney signs everywhere.
I am the only Romney sign on my block.
2 Obamugabe signs.
Battleground state of Florida.
If people are scared of retaliation, the country is lost.

Putting an Obama sign in your yard is the same as announcing, “I support using government force to confiscate the fruits of your labor so the government can give me ‘free’ stuff. Now get to work, tax slave!”
Now, just because they don’t want to display a sign doesn’t mean they won’t support Obama and the party of looters and moochers behind close doors. I have friends who I don’t even care to speak to anymore because I know they support Obama.
“I’m not voting for Romney, “
We need to talk about that...
I like the yard sign that said “ YOU VOTED FOR 0BAMA THE FIRST TIME TO PROVE YOU WEREN”T A RACIST ,,, DON”T VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN TO PROVE YOU’RE AN IDIOT “ .
