I don't live in a battle ground state but I've noticed a lack of yard signs this year for politicians. Four years ago it seemed that everyone had a yard sign and Obama was everywhere, even here in southern Kentucky. I've seen a few bumper stickers on vehicles over by the university but really haven't seen a lot of them either.
I'm curious if anyone else could tell me if I'm just early or just in the wrong place to see the usual mania that the elections provide.
I keep seeing the polls and wonder if there's so much support then why am I not seeing tangible support for either candidate.
What area are you? Del Ray area of Alexandria is a moonbat Jim Moran voting hotbed, and i see NONE this time around. My daughter’s HS is located in that neighborhood. i live near the nutley st metro and see very few. Peoples Republic of falls church, hillood ave, where i pass through on the way to work, i saw none. and those people are Earthwatching leftwingers!
Ive driven through the City of Boulder (Colorado) a few times in the last couple of weeks and have not seen a single yard sign for either candidate. Not one. And a grand total of two Obama bumper stickers and one of those just said 2012 with the Obama zero, so you wouldnt even know it was for Obama unless you were very close.
If any of these folks do end up voting for Obama again theyre certainly ashamed to let anybody else know about it. I suspect a hell of a lot of them are either going to sit out the presidential election or secretly vote for Romney.
It’s actually creepy; feels kinda like The Stepford Wives. Everyone kind of hunkered down and fearful. Perhaps ashamed of who they are going to vote for, even. Certainly not proud of who they are going to vote for. And somehow, I just dont think this kind of environment bodes well at all for an incumbent, especially one like our beloved Commie-in-Chief along with the deliberate destruction hes wrought to all things American.
This complete absence of overt enthusiasm is one of the reasons I dont believe the polls. Even if they werent overtly rigged as they are, I still wouldnt believe them. I choose to believe what I actually see instead of the lying polls and the lying ObamaMedia.
I used to live on the top of Lord’s Hill in Snohomish Co. Is McKenna conservative?
Compared to this time (six weeks out) back in 2008, the visible evidence of an upcoming and critical election are virtually nil. Both sides were energized four years ago, especially with Sarah Palin fueling much enthusiasm.
I am seeing quite a few Texas Rangers flags attached to car windows. The proverbial Man from Mars could see that a pennant race is happening but would have no idea that a presidential race is upon us.
First of all, I’m pretty sure you have to buy the signs. We had to buy ours. Most people can’t afford to buy them. And even more obama worshippers can’t afford it.
Second, lots of obama worshippers will still vote for him but are ashamed to let their neighbors know it.
Third, Romney supporters don’t want their homes and cars vandalized by the ashamed neighbors.
The very few cars I’ve seen with Zero stickers are driven by the usual hardcore suspects.
“Rub your signs with Poison Ivy! I do. Neighbors teenager was covered in Calamine lotion a couple days later!”
That’s just wicked. I love it!
“I will put a Romney sign; but I’m going to choke a bit while doing it! “
LOL! I know how you feel. I’ll probably put one up too, but certainly have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it will make me feel better to make a public statement to rid ourselves of our beloved Commie-in-Chief, but on the other hand I’ll feel slightly ill that to do so, I have to show support for a RINO like Romney. Oh well, at least the sign will have “Ryan” on it.
I’ve been Ivying” my signs since 2008.
Annandale area, just a tad outside the beltway in a middle to upper middle class neighborhood. The voting precinct has one of the highest turnouts in VA (and I know this first hand, being an Election Officer) and very liberal.
“I’m not voting for Romney”
I assume you must be a “true conservative” who has “principals”, unlike the rest of us “fake” conservatives who have no principals.
“True conservatives with principals” + Progressives = Death of the USA.
“a game trail camera with IR flash”
Saw them locally on sale for Ten bucks. They’re cheap!
I’m vacationing on Maui this week. I expected lots of O signs, but have seen only one. And I saw one “I built this” sign outside of a little store. Other than that, nothing for Romney. Funny as there are a gazillion signs out for local races. A fair number of signs are up for Linda Lingle, too. Maui must be a little more conservative than Oahu.
There is such a thing as keeping one’s cards close to the vest. People aren’t saying much, which I do not think is good for the guy in the White House. I don’t want the other side knowing for whom I am voting, that includes, no signs and no answering polls. I want this Romney landslide to knock the media off their feet.
There is that, and I don’t want my house egged, my dog bothered, or my car scratched. I saw one Obama sign just outside of my town for the first time yesterday. Haven’t seen any political signs in the town itself.
okay, i know where you mean. i have to say though, i saw only one Obama sign on Prosperity Ave between 236 and 50, and a bunch of Romney there.
Agree, not a lot of yard signs. But there is an easy fix. Contact FreedomWorks for all the signs you can use and give them to like-minded folks, especially on well-traveled streets. Stay focused, ignore the polls, get out the vote- and we can get the job done. Time to take out the trash!
In an ideal world; I would have a bush in the spot where I put signs. I could kind of hide the Romney part that way!!!
I still have my Palin sign from 2008. It used to have some guy named McCain attached to it; but I corrected the sign.
talking nothing but truth there, catnipman - bless ya
Around my house is two Romney and no Obama. People know that there is very little to get excited about.
