Gay acceptance on TV at all time high, GLAAD report finds

A new GLAAD report shows LGBT presence on America's TV channels are continuing to grow with an acceptance of gay people and famlies at an all time high.

America's gay media advocacy group Gays and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation released its sixth annual Network Responsibility Index (NRI) report today (30 August), which maps the quantity, quality and diversity of images of LGBT people on television.

Mapping the quantity, quality and diversity of images of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people on television, the primetime programming of the five broadcast networks was evaluated as well as original primetime programming on 10 major cable networks.

I still believe - as Howe and Strauss indicated in their study of the saeculum of history - that cultural trends can shift, decline, and reverse pending things such as global economic crisis and war. I just cannot believe such silliness is permanent. It must be reaching its apex and reversal.

I think it’s illegal to have TV shows or advertisements that do not contain 15% homosexual and 25% African American participation.

When are the gay guys going to take over Ice Road Trucker, Bering Sea Gold, or Hillbilly Handfishing. When they do, then I’m out.

The 'free' TV is really pushing ... as in drug pusher ... evil programming (look it up ... programming ... ) because evil has not been able to get as strong a root as it had hoped.

Pushing evil is rape.

So, if TV is any indication, America is still strong and The Remnant is still powerfull with the Holy Spirit.

If that isn't true, it's my prayer.

Yet another good reason to chuck the TV.

One of the reasons I seldom watch network TV.

What better way to ensure that the crushing fist of the central planners endures unchecked and unchallenged? Breed a society of pacifist females and emasculated, gay-obsessed boys!

is there a movement which is wanting programs to have a warning system about homsoexuality like they do with strong language, violence etc

hell I have no problem with violence etc but homsexuality, that is B/S.

Soon as some queer issue , topic or acting comes up then it gets turned over or switched off.

Though I must admit I hardly ever watch most of the shows today because of the queer crap

Exactly. As they frantically increase their effort to normalize deviancy viewers will keep running for the exits as they have been. I honestly cannot recall the last time I intentionally watched all or part of some network show.

Gold Rush
Pawn Stars
IRT
Top Gear
Counting Cars
American Restoration
American Pickers
The Military Channel

A Gallup poll found Americans believe 25% are homosexual when it’s under 2%.

TV likely the reason for the false belief.

“Gay acceptance on TV at all time high, GLAAD report finds.”

Acceptance? They wish.....Just because the network execs feel the need to push their agenda, does not mean that we, the viewers, are accepting of it.

I doubt that I am alone in dropping from my viewership several programs where one of the characters “comes out” - for no apparent reason other than to create an “in your face” moment. Even the new movie “ParaNorman” - which one of my sons worked on - has a gratuitous gay character.....

Read that book. They have a lot to say that makes sense.

As to TV, it's disgusting. Every damn show has to have one of these useless, stupid characters that in no way suggests reality or adds to the plot. So far, "Suits," "Sons of Anarchy," "Breaking Bad," "Hell on Wheels," "Homeland" have avoided this. But I quit with "Alphas" specifically because of the ridiculous Lesbian scene last week.

Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent.

plain and simple,, ‘They’ won’t be happy until they are called ‘normal’, until then, we’re denying them their ‘rights’ .

‘Til then, there are many other networks and activities out there on the airwaves. nbc has been leading the charge on many fronts in attacking this country and western civilization in general... and making dough doing it.

Yes, gratuitous gay characters are what they are. I recall feeling almost insulted when a show suddenly sprang it on the audience that the character was having a clandestine gay relationship: You don’t need a political ad in the middle of a show.

The way I fight back is to only watch commercial-free TV from free downloads on the Internet.

Just google "watch free tv" and you can help drive them out of business.

They featured a newly decided Gay on World Series of Poker, twice. No reason what ever to do that. Oh wait maybe there is a reason, but it has nothing to do with poker.

The shows I really want to watch, I record in my computer, so I can edit out those scenes, they almost never add anything and are easily cut without changing the storyline. If they are not easily cut then trash can works.

Soon there will be no way to avoid the pink brigade, they have in the last decade, created an army of followers in our government schools.

I am a huge fan of “Burn Notice”. I’ve never seen any gay characters on there either. Barry Burkowski, the money launderer, is straight but very “metrosexual”, and is about the closest thing to a gay character I’ve ever seen on there.
