The Texas delegates have been fighting mad about these rule changes and fighting hard against them.
I’m trying to get an update from one now about the 2:00 meeting.
this is sickening.
IF and I do mean IF this country survives to another election after this mess and people like Akin cause the loss of this election.... this republican party needs to go.
The days of the old guys and the elite need to end.
Rush is all over this today and he is not happy.
Bulleffingshoot!!!!
Unintended good-thing consequences will come of this.
For decades social conservatives and smaller-govt conservatives have taken solace that they had some influence at the convention in building the platform. Which, as we all know, is pretty much useless as the part all but ignores the platform after the convention.
Maybe now those groups will spend more time focusing on things that matter: getting people who share their principles elected.
So who is it here that keeps saying “we’ll deal with Romney later?” No. You will not.
Behold the dismantling of Conservatism. More simply put ... “told ya”.
I for one will actively campaign against the Republican candidate more passionately then I do against Obama if the RINO’s succeed at changing the rules as they are attempting.
If they succeed, in 2016 the party will become pro abortion, anti-Christian and yes even anti-2nd amendment.
So the only reason I have to even call myself a Republican will have been destroyed, and thus I will cease to support the GOP.
I used to say that Romney will win in a landslide. I even have a standing $1000.00 bet for anyone willing to take me up on it. However, if he does this, then I believe Obama will win.
I say that's BS.
The country is going down in flames and we can't stop it. Voting for Romney won't stop it. I see no reason to vote in November. None. Nada. I'm waiting for the tree of liberty to be watered. My vote stopped counting a long time ago.
Back around 1940, some Americans thought that Hitler probably wasn't so bad -- he was friends with Joe Stalin, and that was pretty cool, huh? Then he invaded Russia and they ran around in a panic saying we had to support Stalin -- maybe Stalin wasn't perfect, but, hey, he wasn't Hitler.
Well, you can go vote for Stalin if you want, and you can tell everyone that you're saving the world from Hitler. As for me, I won't vote for Hitler and I won't vote for Stalin. You see ... I'm a Conservative.
I am HIGHLY pissed off at this and at what I fear will be coming out of the rules committee. It took me a while to come around and support Romney; now I’m beginning to think it may be best to forget Romney and let the house burn down with Obama leading it. We can rebuild and rebuild it right.
The GOPe wants to purge us? I think it time to seriously think about purging them.
Damn, I’m pissed!!!@ And I don’t what to do to prevent this at the last minute.
So is it within the rules for Romney to replace the committee members?
I’m not clear on what the issue is.
Is this another response to Ron Paul trying to stack the delegates in his favor even though voters rejected him?
Anyway, looks like I might have some company in the third party vote line.
If things continue down this road (including his recent mealy-mouth abortion position)I’m getting the sense that this could be a transition election. Elect Romney, then either challenge him in 2016 or form a Tea Party third party.
They can't change any convention rules unless the delegates on the floor vote the changes. What is the mix on the floor?
I'm not trying to be argumentative -- I honestly don't get it. Exactly who are these people being removed, and who put them in those places to be removed in the first place?
Just spoke to my Minnesota Convention Committee Rules Rep and she stated MN is solid support on Minority Report and encourages us to call other states reps!!!

These idiots are fighting the wrong battle.
Where are the "don't give 0bama a vote by not supporting Romney" now when the GOP are disenfranchising the conservative core of the party?
Mr. RomneyCARE is excited, at last.
The partner of Soros, Mr. RomneyCARE smells the blood
of conservatives — and his vicious Team are all
over them.
Mr. McDaniel,
I am supporting Romney and the GOP with a healthy suspicion based on our candidates very moderate past. I support the Tea Party agendas for conservative goevernance and believe their influence is URGENTLY needed in the GOP today. We really need Obama out and I expect Romney to make good on his campaign promises.
I have been dissappointed in our party in the last decade as the conservative values adopted and re-established by Reagan have steadily declined to the point of spurring a genuine conservative grass roots activism apparent in the Tea Party Movement.
I emphatically urge you to not accept rules changes that would silence the conservative influence that is rallying this nation and the GOP back to improve our great nation. The voters are taking some control over the governance of this nation. Establishment politicians have done plenty of damage. We need visionary patriots with America’s core values at heart and her future in mind to be governing to conservative standards.
The Rule 15 compromise and other rule changes are a slap in the face to the Tea Party and its supporters.
I and my family will register as Independents and consider our options if Romney’s rule changes go into effect.
Please share this e-mail with your colleagues. I may be but one voter. But the Tea Party and its supporters are watching VERY CAREFULLY these days.
Sincerely,
On one hand, I can say Romney and his supporters are wrong on principle on the rule changes they seek.
On the other hand I could say he and his group are not very politically savy, or maybe even politically stupid.
They may be in an uneasy alliance of convenience for the moment, in the GOP, with a GOP base that is more Conservative than they are, a base without whom they will not beat Obama, and they chose, and I mean chose, to stir up an internal GOP hornets nest at this time, before the general election?
Why? They have the nomination, so, they have another four years to go “in power” at the RNC if they win, so, in the long war it is really stupid to chose this particular battle at this time.
One thing for sure, it spells for a rocky road ahead for any President Romney with what will be a more Conservative GOP majority in at least the House if not both houses of Congress.
