“Skocpol predicted that it will quickly be obvious to most Americans that Ryans breathtakingly extreme budget plan is a path to prosperity only for the top five percent.”
If helping the top 5% prosper helps me prosper, so be it. This class envy has got to stop.

Google
Bush "reverse robin hood" and in less than one-third of a second you get
this, in which it is revealed that the phrase "reverse robin hood" or "robin hood in reverse was used
- by union boss George Meany in 1971 against Richard Nixon.
- It was used ten years later by Albert Shanker - another aptly-named union boss - against Ronald Reagan.
- It was also used by Jesse Jackson against Reagan in 1984,
- and against Margaret Thatcher in England.
Other uses of the phrase are covered in the article, courtesy of CNBC.

Theda Skocpol is a political sociologist. I read her books/ papers in grad school in political and sociology courses. Her approach mainly is from Marxism point of view. Didn’t realize that she’s now with Kennedy Government.

Any reference to the Ryan plan should be met with “OK what’s your plan?” Senate Dems have not put forth a plan. New Romney ad should be: Dems condemn Romney/Ryan plan, but Dems won’t put forth a plan. Obamacare response from Pelosi: “We have to pass the health care bill so we can find out what’s in it” New Romney/Ryan ad: “Dems say, you have to elect us to find out what we plan to do”.

Theda Skocpol (born May 4, 1947) is an American sociologist and political scientist at Harvard University.
State autonomy (institutionalism)
State autonomy theorists believe that the state is an entity that is somehow impervious to external social and economic influence, and has interests of its own.
"New institutionalist" writings on the state, such as the works of Theda Skocpol, suggest that state actors are to an important degree autonomous. In other words, state personnel have interests of their own, which they can and do pursue independently of (at times in conflict with) actors in society. Since the state controls the means of coercion, and given the dependence of many groups in civil society on the state for achieving any goals they may espouse, state personnel can to some extent impose their own preferences on civil society

Medicare for a New Century-Paul Ryan's plan would modernize a program stuck in 1965
The same concept governs the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program, which insures everyone from postal workers to Members of Congress.

Ryan’s plan doesn’t cut enough spending. Enormous numbers of useless bureaucrats need to be laid off, pensions cut, etc. And it’s eventually going to happen regardless of tactics used by various political groups (default, repudiation, currency adjustment ahead).
