If liberals needed exposing for their in-your-face-we-hate-you intolerance, the Chick-Fil-A episode has unmasked their bloody fangs. Nobody who believes in traditional marriage may go unpunished. Just like "gay" activists went after those who donated to Proposition 8 in California, they and their fellow travelers are now lunging for the throat of a business that's as American as apple pie and fried chicken.
Let's take a look at the back story that brought out the muttations foaming at the mouth for chicken blood and snapping at the heels of the company. It began back in January with a story about Chick-Fil-A donating food to several traditional marriage conferences. That was enough to put the company on the radar screen for annihilation. In November, the gay advocacy group Equality Matters revealed that the company had donated close to $2 million to organizations that defend traditional marriage. But the spark that ignited over-the-top intolerant rage against the company was an interview of 91-year-old president Dan Cathy with the Baptist Press. Here's the section of the interview that brought out the homosexual hatemongers:
The company invests in Christian growth and ministry through its WinShape Foundation (WinShape.com). The name comes from the idea of shaping people to be winners. And there you have it folks. Surprise! Cathy is not calling for lynching homosexuals or banning them from lunch counters. He doesn't refuse to serve them at his restaurants. He is simply defending his own belief in traditional marriage as the bulwark of the Christian family and society. What he implies in the interview is a dislike of divorce, for heaven's sake! Thousands of years of history support Cathy's view. What exactly supports the "gay" redefinition of marriage? Nothing -- not a single thing!
It began as a college scholarship and expanded to a foster care program, an international ministry, and a conference and retreat center modeled after the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove.
"That morphed into a marriage program in conjunction with national marriage ministries," Cathy added.
Some have opposed the company's support of the traditional family. "Well, guilty as charged," said Cathy when asked about the company's position.
"We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.
"We operate as a family business ... our restaurants are typically led by families; some are single. We want to do anything we possibly can to strengthen families. We are very much committed to that," Cathy emphasized.
"We intend to stay the course," he said. "We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles."
University of Louisville is thinking about kicking out this chain for the anti-gay marriage...and I don’t think they care!
Back in the early nineties when I was about to graduate from there, it was already a safe haven for liberals...too bad - they had a great Criminal Justice program and Law School - plus the Southern Police Institute.
oh well — students that want it can go right off campus and get it...no big deal...
I’m getting sick of these articles.
My problem is that I’ve vowed to eat there EVERY DAY there’s a news article about them. So, just had another nice dinner thanks to them, third day in a row (skipping Sunday, of course).
Outright violence will be their next step when they realize that their assault on the first amendment is not working.
There are certain people in the world with lots of money who think there are too many people. These are the ones who hanker for, and fund, politicians and policies that counter traditional families. Money is a powerful player no matter how you cut it. Love of money is behind the insta-hate.
The only one saving grace is that the sodomites percentage of population is NOT increasing, even though they’re attacking sense and sensibility.
1-1/2% is low, and no matter what they preach or scream, it’ll never get any higher.
Just another stand the Liberals will live to regret! Seems to be a continuing effort on their part though...
Feels like the last days of the old Wiemar Republic, doesn’t it?
Eat More Chikin!
bkmk
“Eat More Chikin!”
Of course. EVERY DAY that Chick-a-fill is in the news is another day that I go there (except for Sundays). I’m still not tired of them, so I’ll stick to it.
This easy math chart teaches the Left that 1 + 1 = 2; not 0. When one can't do the math, their percentage in the population stays in the low 1%. Socialist never do the math:
“What these people really want, hidden behind obscure legal phrases, is the legal right to propose to our children that theirs is an acceptable alternate way of life. [...] I will lead such a crusade to stop it as this country has not seen before.”
Anita Bryant, 1978
Let the intolerant bastards try. They would be sued so fast it would make their heads spin. And they would lose.
She had them pegged 34 years ago.
Good for you, but maybe you should rethink that pledge.
I think this will be in the news nearly every day up until the election. It wouldn't be a bad thing for our side if it is.
Forty five years ago marriage was declared dead by the Hippie movement. If you loved someone you could just live together, after all, a marriage license is just a piece of paper.
Now, marriage is the most important two people can engage in, BUT ONLY IF YOU ARE GAY!
The cartoon is funny, but to get technical, a hen can lay unfertilized eggs without ever being with a rooster.
****I will lead such a crusade to stop it as this country has not seen before.
Anita Bryant, 1978****
And the MSM destroyed her.
It’s not saying hens can’t lay eggs.
Chik-Fil-a not egg-fil-a
