Ever since Trayvon Martin was gunned down by George Zimmerman just moments from his front door, some people have been trying to make Trayvon look like a trouble making 17-year-old black kid who started a fight with a man who was only doing his job. That's crap!
Regardless of what they say, I know in my heart that wasnt the person he was. Im not saying he was an angel because no one is perfect, but hes not what people are trying to make him out to be. I consider that totally disrespectful for anyone to slander anyone elses name when theyre no longer breathing to defend themselves. I believe its a cowardly and disrespectful move. So what if he was suspended from school for having a baggie with marijuana residue in it and he has THC in his system at the time of death, you cant judge someone for something you have done or still do. Here are four reasons why Trayvons marijuana usage should be completely irrelevant.
1. You cant judge someone for something you have done or still do.
Everyday people of all ages, races, and social statuses fire up blunts, smoke joints, and hit bongs in hopes of easing their minds and obtaining that good feeling. Though everyone in the world doesnt smoke weed, the average person does smoke or has at least tried smoking. Those who smoke can tell you that they more than likely started smoking as a young kid, teenager, or in their 20s. If anyone has tried smoking, it was usually during the previously mentioned time that this experience took place. May I remind you that The Peoples Son, as I would like to call him, was only 17-years-old? No one walking this earth is perfect, so people need to put their fingers down.
2. Marijuana Does Not make you aggressive.
THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, has been proven to make the user the complete opposite of aggressive. Anyone who uses common sense knows that weed is considered a downer and not an upper, which means that its going to slow you down and calm you before it makes you aggressive and prone to violence. After smoking any amount of weed, no one really wants to fight; they just want to eat and chill out. Alcohol is the strongest pharmacological link to violence and its the one thats actually legal.
3. People use drugs and alcohol use to paint imperfect pictures of people.
People are always so quick to use toxicology reports against other people to make them seem like a less than adequate person. If you drank a beer or two, would you like it if people called you an alcoholic? I dont think you would appreciate it very much. Ok, now imagine you were deceased. How would you feel, so to speak, and how do you think your family and friends will feel when they know you good and well you were nothing of the sort? Reports say that Trayvons THC and THC-COOH levels were so low that they cant be connected to intoxication. Even if he was stoned out of his mind from smoking the best weed ever grown, he still wouldnt have been in an aggressive state because weed is a downer and not an upper.
4. Drug use of any type is irrelevant because Trayvon was minding his own business while was he was on his way home.
It doesnt matter if Trayvon was smoking weed or smoking crack, the point is that he was in his own zone minding his own business while he was on his way to his place of residence. He never took it upon himself to go mess with George Zimmerman, Zimmerman took it upon himself to mess with Trayvon. Trayvon could have been blowed out of his mind, but he wasnt bothering anyone. If he was high at the time he was killed, he was just going home to finish watching the game and enjoy his high. He didnt want any trouble, but trouble sure sniffed him out like a rabid bloodhound.
Its been almost three months since Sybrina and Tracy saw or talked to their son. I know what it feels like to want to hold your child, but realize that all you can hold is a picture and your memories. Sometimes people just want to report the facts or get their point across, but dont always stop to realize that this isnt just a news story; this is an innocent life thats gone and a family thats hurting. People are quick to report someone elses shortcomings, but work twice as hard to hide their own.
uh oh! Don't tell that to wtc911: he contends that "trayvon did nothing illegal that night" and wants you to post proof of it.
Probably a teacher.
Was it just me or did anyone else watch that 7-11 surveillance video and think Trayvon was gonna stick the place up?
I don’t think that’s marijuana. I think that’s a drug called Khat. I don’t think mj automatically makes you a peacenik though either.
I thought that Khat was usually chewed.
After watching Trayvon fumble with money and meander around the store getting I T and skillets, and then GZ stating that he thought that he was on “drugs or something” da ganja did play some part in this incident.
Not to mention the tweets where on of TM’s cronies is trying to buy weed from him...
Yep, he’s an angel alright./s
I was in a Quik Trip (similar to a 7-11) in my security police uniform on the way to work without my pistol when two guys decided to rob the cashier. I quickly ducked behind some chips, lest they think me armed. I was only a policeman at work, unlike most cops who are always on duty and we kept our weapons in a safe at work. They were so high they probably never even noticed me, but it gave me a scare.
Agreed, and the defense will say Jorge Zimmerman was walking back to his truck when Trayvon jumped him. Two witnesseswill testify that Trayvon was on top of Jorge beating his head into the concrete when Jorge fired the fatal shot. I wonder how many times a nice mellow doper can pound you head into the concrete before you defend yourself?
The defense will call the two reporters who doctored the 911 calls to make Jorge seen like an out of control racist. Its just me but Jorge will beat the state rap, and then Holder will immediately file Federal Civil rights charges against Jorge. Reason 1,346,984 to vote Obama’s butt out this November.
He had committed a crime by smoking dope.
THC levels in his bloodstream showed legal intoxication.
He was under the influence of an illegal drug.
These are the facts.
1. You cant judge someone for something you have done or still do.
By 'you', she means OTHER PEOPLE, not herself...of course. Her whole article is about her 'judgement' of the public reaction.
2. Marijuana Does Not make you aggressive.
No, but living up to the GANGSTA CULTA does, and a brother gotta smoke.
3. People use drugs and alcohol use to paint imperfect pictures of people.
People use drugs and alcohol to paint a perfect picture of an imperfect world. If an alcohol or drug abuser is seeing everything through a haze, then how can they complain when told their 'view' of reality isn't 'perfect', and that maybe others who can see 'clearly' are just pointing out the truth?
4. Drug use of any type is irrelevant because Trayvon was minding his own business while was he was on his way home.
I am sure every drunk driver who has killed innocent pedestrians agrees with you, young lady.
The real (unasked) question here is... Had the juvenile delinquent (legally correct term, by the way) not had any trace of drugs in his system, would he still have sucker punched Zimmerman and then continued to beat him possibly to death?
Unfortunately for you, missy, the answer is YES.
You are being very generous with attributing coherent sentences to the author. Take this beaut, for example:
...the point is that he was in his own zone minding his own business while he was on his way to his place of residence
Yikes.
"in his own zone" is the same thing as "minding his own business"... redundant.
"to his place of residence" = home. Wordy like a police report. And it wasn't his place of residence.
When I hear phraseology like this, I know something really stupid is about to be said.
That's not true. If you are a white Democrat in power, you get all kinds of mulligans.
My youngest son (23) has not even heard of or followed this case... when I explained it to him, and told him young treyvon went to the store for skittles and tea, he looked at me and said, “ Pot and speed, ehhhh..”.... even he knows what that term meant....
Well that closes the case right there! Her feelings, her magical intuition, her deep introspection of the human condition, and skillful generalization toxicology... what else is there to know?
Oh I don't know, perhaps Ursula would entertain and perceive some value in the revelation of FACTS? The judicial system has traditionally been the place where this could occur. She should check into it right after consulting her magic 8-ball (not a crack reference).
Wait a minute! Was this actually written by Debbie Whatshername Schultz? Something in the extreme level of idiocy, the incoherent utterings of a buffoon that seems her style...
She's not trying to sway anyone's opinion now is she?
