Los Angeles, CA—It was just after midnight when Christopher Lasseter was walking his little dog in Brentwood. He watched a man he now knows to be Andrew Breitbart crossing Barrington from The Brentwood.
Beritbart was walking without apparent distress in the direction of the Starbucks across the well-lit street. Once Breitbart stepped up on the curb, as Lasseter put it, “He fell hard like a sack of Potatoes.”
A man unknown to Lasseter called 911. The 911 operator told them to begin chest compressions on Beritbart until the police and paramedics arrived.
The very top photo shows where Breitbart died on his back with his head close to the lamp post on the left and his feet under the newspaper vending machine to the right.
Lasseter described Breitbart’s skin color as bright red.

We will be waiting with bated breath for the Medical Examiner's and the Toxicology Reports to know exactly what cut a young man's life short.

I had a cat that died of an aneurysm (at least that was the vet’s theory). I was in the kitchen making a sandwich when I heard her collar clink against her water bowl. I turned around and she was laying there, limp. It was like someone had flipped a switch.
What I don’t get is how a heart attack or aneurysm can kill so suddenly. It seems like there would be enough reserve oxygen in the blood to keep you conscious for at least a few tens of seconds. It seems strange that it can have such a sudden effect.
It’s the drop of blood pressure. The systems just collapse.
I’m with you on this one. The “bright red skin” detail is designed the draw in the suckers and get a rumor started.
I was not much of a follower of Andrew’s. To me, he always looked very unhealthy and as if he had a drug problem. Obviously not saying he did drugs, but he looked that way on the times when I saw him.

Me, too, and I’m still horrified.
Dermal absorption is possible, especially with fat soluble compounds. There are a number of formulations made for cutaneous absorption used on livestock, people, and pets. Some of the organophosphates (nerve agents) used in cattle to control internal and external parasites go right through the skin for systemic distribution. Both chlorinated hydrocarbons (egs. DDT, Aldrin, Dieldrin) will readily penetrate the skin and cause seizures. The Calcium (Ca) and potassium (K) would both require IV administration, but both will cause cardiac failure. A hot tea made with Japanese Yew extract or Oleander extract, will both cause heart failure—Ask yourself how easy this would be?
Isn't is ventricular fibrillation, unlike atrial fibrillation, that can cause sudden cardiac arrest?
I've read and hear that The Brentwood is very dark inside, so it would have been harder to detect someone committing a foul act.
One breath of it and the next step one would hit the ground, as it shuts down the body's central nervous system, to include heart and lungs. I only seen one person dead because of it. But was all the more horrible as he fell into an acid frac tank. It was very hard to take when we fished him out, as the acid had had time to act upon skin and flesh.
Everything about Andrew's death has tinfoil written all over it.
A few years ago I “fainted” while shaving. Lost consciousness, but came back quickly once down. Thought it was the flu or something. With a second episode within a year or two, I was able to discover that if I ducked down immediately when the “spell” was coming on, I would not lose consciousness. The eventual diagnosis was atrial flutter and with ablation and a pacemaker, the fainting problem seems to have gone away.
Don’t know if my case is typical, but there was very little time to respond to anything.

Would cyanide show up in toxicology findings? Would just his face look flushed or would it appear so on other parts of body?
I had an incident with potassium - very, very low level of potassium. Dr. ordered a pure potassium drip. I though of chewing my arm off at the shoulder it was so painful.
Next time I had a similar low potassium reading, the doctor had the potassium diluted over a longer period of time. I only felt a little discomfort.

My heart breaks. I used to live in Brentwood, I know just where that is, I’ve been to restaurants in those little “courts...” it hurts worse knowing where he died. I’m losing it.
I love a good mystery or conspiracy but not this one.
At least Rush seems to have his gatehouse filled with bomb sniffers and the like. Andrew was walking alone on tree lined dark streets in neighborhoods where no one pays attention to anyone and a lot of people are famous.

I’ve always wondered how scrubbing works. I thought anything on the Internet was like Vegas.
What goes on the Internet, stays on the Internet.
Just curious: how does scrubbing work? Can things from the wayback machine be scrubbed?
Could he have shook some one’s hand? Could it be a crowded bar where people run into each other and someone jabbed him with something without him even knowing it?
Could someone touch the glass he was drinking from? Could something have been put into his drink? Did someone go to buy him a drink and fuddled with his drink or glass then?
All kinds of thoughts going thru my mind on the bar more than what might have happened as he was walking away from the bar.
Got to go; black helicopters circling.
Breitbart - RIP
I just want to say that that area is plenty light enough at night to tell if someone’s face were ashen or beet red. It’s quite well lit with many restaurants, gas station, etc.
Of all people, Andrew should have conducted his life with a MUCH higher degree of situational awareness, despite the relative safety of the neighborhood he lived in.
Of all people, he should have been more acutely aware of what sort of deadly enemies he was making. The man had to know that he had a target painted on his back. Knowing that, it was irresponsible of him to casually walk to the nearest bar for an evening drink.
