Vitacost dropped Rush Limbaugh as a sponsor yesterday. Seems that the company is already trying to backpedal after receiving tons of negative feedback.
Yesterday's message:
Wed like to address an issue with our radio ads -- one of which aired on the Rush Limbaugh radio show. To put it frankly, Mr. Limbaugh's recent comments have been unsettling, and many of our fans have voiced concern that Vitacost endorses these views. These comments are definitely not in line with our brand values, and in listening to our fans we've decided to remove our advertising from the program.
And today's soft reinterpretation:
Here at Vitacost.com, our goal is to take the cost out of healthy living by offering thousands of healthy products at affordable prices. To promote this mission, we launched a national radio advertising campaign in January that airs on many different programs, including the Rush Limbaugh show. As a result of the derogatory comments Mr. Limbaugh made on his program, we decided to remove our advertising. We appreciate and support Mr. Limbaughs right to voice his opinion, just not how he delivered his message. Our decision was in no way a statement about Mr. Limbaughs or his listeners political views, but rather his lack of respect for another human being. Vitacost.com takes healthy living very seriously, and we believe that respect for others is a huge part of that healthy lifestyle.Thank you,
David Zucker, CMO

PS: If you're on Facebook, "Like" Vitacost. I have been dropping bombs every time they post a new entry on their Facebook page!
PPS: see the last message I posted to yesterday's thread (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2854873/posts) -- I did some comparisons between Vitacost and other vendors who were mentioned. Swanson and iHerb came out on top; Puritan, close second.
Yeah, and part of a whale’s tail. Literally, a piece of tail....(Go on, pull your ads...)
Get a Bissinger’s or Merb’s catalog, or go to the tribal chocolatiers in OK.
my post at your blog:
Guess who is working feverishly to put the supplement companies out of business and to keep those of us that depend on supplements from getting them through onerous legislation? That’s right, liberals. The same liberals that Rush fights every day. The same liberals that feign insult when they put a FRAUD of a woman up as their spokesperson and have her claim that tax payers need to buy her rubbers and pills. OMG. I will switch ALL of my supp business to Swanson’s. Good job vitacost. You kneejerked and lost.
He also sincerely apologized...three times. something libtards are incapable of but they sure do excell at insulting us.
You obviously don't listen to Rush, or if you do..you don't understand him. No one who listened to him believed that HE believed Fluke was a slut....he was satirically coming to an absurd but logical conclusion based solely on her absurd and ridiculous "testimony" which was very long on emotion and very very very short on facts and reality.
I am a long time customer of Vitacost. I order a LOT from them. I just went on their chat and had them pull up my account. Then I told them I had to fire them. They gave me the usual nonsense that you already posted and then she got a little upset. I told her that my decision to fire them was purely a business decision just like their decison to pull advertising. They don’t care. They really do not even understand that Congress is trying to pass a law to make vitamins illegal. They will be gone in a minute when that happens.
“Well when a single women comes before Congress and basically tells the world she needs more free contraceptive ideas... ...she’s one of three things.”
Was it even a valid session of Congress or some sideshow hosted by Pelosi?
He should be more sophisticated. He changed the debate from religious freedom to a bunch of nonsense.
It was a sideshow set up by the Democrats!
Sending your ad out to 15 million Less people in this economy is a seriously stupid mistake. Then top that off with thousands of letters and phones calls telling you they are done with your product. I expect more will back peddle before this is over.
Oh, but it is! You are participating in a concerted effort by foes of Limbaugh to force him off the air by eliminating his revenue. Own it, coward.....and the consequences.
I've done a lot of shopping with Vitacost in the past - usually when I place an order it's in the $150 range. No More! I've been transitioning to Swanson - they now get all of my business.
I decided not to buy from them anymore so when I got an email from them today, I decided to unsubscribe from their email list. At the bottom it asks why and I checked other and wrote...You decided to drop Rush Limbaugh so I decided to DROP you!!
He never outright called her anything. He asked what would a person be called who wants someone to buy their contraceptives? What would you call someone who wants you and me to pay for their sex? Only after asking did he suggest that she was a slut. I support Rush all the way and will not and did not think he was out of line. She is a slut of the left.
Sharies berries, proflowers and several others that dropped Rush also advertist on TV...they probably figured there won’t be much of a drag on their business with the TV advertising getting their message out....I am sure they weighted the results before they made the business decision. I don’t use their products anyway so I cannot quit using their products..
A plant.
A nympho
Or nuts.
May I add: utter disgrace, shameful, trollop, floozy, jezebel, whore, scum, skank, shameless, harlot, heathen
That's my list (for now)
click report abuse, ask question, they adm. or mod will respond..I usually start out with I am not reporting abuse on this post but have a question.....
Don’t know...Just what I saw.
I like his nonsense. To bad you do not have the capacity to understand.
Damnit. I have meant to do that for a couple of days.
LOL
