Time has come for me to leave the chaos of FreeRepublic.
Over the past 13 years I always felt that FR was the home of Conservatives with core values that could not be compromised. This election cycle has shown me that I have been wrong in my assessment.
The lack of moral or intellectual commitment by many of the FR members has resulted in the end of my involvement.
I'm sure JR and many others are pleased but know that the early years were great experiences.
God Bless to all and enjoy the next 4 years of Obama.

Whether or not the lefty psy-op you posted is actually from MoveOn is not known for sure. But it is clearly the work of one of Alinsky's better students, designed to sew despair into the ranks of the GOP. And it is clear that you fell for it!

I have done this for three straight elections. I have grown tired of it. I will no longer vote for the lesser of two evils.

I’ll vote. Just not for Gingrich, Romney, or Obama. If I have to write in a candidate that I like, I will.

It’s all opinion, but in my view, it is the GOP. They know who they want before the process starts: someone who will ease the relentless pressure from the media for a “moderate”. The GOP has “liberal light” since Reagan and will not support someone who doesn’t fit the mold. I can no longer reward this behavior with my vote. You may disagree and that’s what is, at least for now, great about our country.

The engineers from both parties are driving the train to destruction. With the pool of engineers available, there is just the slow path and the fast path. The engineers who talk about alternative paths are quickly shelved. If you take the fast path, you can pick up the pieces sooner and start over. Personally, I will not vote for either the slow or fast path.

Over the last few weeks many freepers who signed back up then did not post for a few years and have now been banned or a couple who think because they have been on here that long that we all have to go with their view just because of a date.

No one has to agree with anyone because of the date of their FR title. However calling people who disagree trolls is a ignorant thing to do. Many people have been here a long time and have many ways of managing.
So, you maintain Dr. Williams did write what you posted? LOL! I do believe I refuted that.
As for the other point, I did repeat speculation that MoveOn might have been the author of the hoax, but I did not elevate that assertion beyond speculation. Whether it was actually from MoveOn or not, it was clearly an attempt to demoralize the right by putting words in the mouth of a respected conservative analyst.

I've been thinking lately. Isn't it the Republican's fault that Obama got elected in the first place? If they had principles and acted like they stood for small government when they were in power?
How about if they had taken steps to actually slap down Freddie and Fannie's out of control policies that led to the housing bust?
How about when GWB proposed privatizing a portion of SS, they didn't tell him to STFU and turn around and propose Medicare part D?
What if they had addressed the illegal immigration problem and actually done something about it when they were in power?
Sorry, I've been in a sour mood looking back at what could have been had the Republicans done something worthy while they were in power.
Bush Tax cuts and taking the fight to the terrorists. Not much else comes to mind.

Well, I don’t get this zot. If he was a re-tread he’s been retreading it for 6 years(since 2005). I went way, way back and I don’t see anything that says ‘troll’. He was very witty, had great pics, participated in many different threads, many different subjects, can’t stand Barry the Marxist, makes fun of all Dems..... etc.
But hey, it’s not my decision, it’s up to JR and his mods. I won’t celebrate this one because he doesn’t appear to be a troll. He wasn’t a Perry fan, but that means nothing, lots on here weren’t. Me too. If Romney is the nominee, I will not vote. And it is for one simple reason: I will feel like a jew trying to choose between Hitler and Stalin. It’s best to just catch the next boat out of Europe, if you get my drift.
If it keeps going the way I think it will you won’t have to worry about that. :)
