....You dont have to settle for Washington and Wall Street insiders who supported the Wall Street bailout and Obamacare individual mandate. You dont have to resign yourself to voting for wasteful Washington spending culture of earmarks and of deficits and this ever rising debt that weve got, said Perry. You dont have to vote for a candidate who would allow Iran to wipe Israel off the face of the earth and then ultimately America. You dont have to you dont have to stand for that. You dont have to settle for that.
Im the limited government conservative in this campaign thats going to get Washington a complete overhaul. I believe that the federal government should do a few things, do those few things real well, and get out of the way and leave Americans alone.
With the controversial Sheriff Joe Arpaio standing at his side, Perry focused a good portion of his quick six minute speech on border security, drawing large applause from the crowd when he vowed to secure the border within one year of taking office.
Heres my pledge to you: We will secure that border. We will shut it down within one year after my hand comes off of that Bible, said Perry to a boom of applause from the crowd.....
...You have my back on January the third and Ill have your back for the next four years in Washington, D.C.

Excellent graphic!
Perry is the only conservative running that can actually pull off a victory for us. He’s got the experience, the organization and the money to do it.
Godspeed Rick Perry!
He does a good job of drawing a distinction between himself and other candidates. When you get right to it, only two candidates in this race have the funds or access to funds to not get buried by Obama - those two are Romney and Perry and I know which one I’d rather see elected.
Regardless of how much you like Gingrich, Bachmann, Huntsman, Paul or Santorum, they lack the cash to go the distance or to win a protracted primary battle. They will need to coalesce support quickly to have any chance at all.
Romney has his own personal wealth and Perry has access to great resources which he has used to build a strong network of donors and advisers.
While I like Bachmann and Santorum and feel they are more conservative than Perry in some regards, they don’t have the funds or the networking to wrest the nomination from Romney. I know Perry got off to a bad start on the campaign trail but I still think he’s the best shot we have at uniting the party, defeating Obama and overhauling Washington.
Closing the border... such a novel idea, but at the risk of getting hammered by Perry supporters, I was under the impression the Texas Governor signed a bill providing funding for the education of illegals in Texas, or am I wrong?
Texas passed a veto proof bill in 2001 and Rick Perry signed it and stands by Texas' right to deal with the immigration problems the Federal government has left the states to pay for and deal with. Of all the candidates, Gov. Perry understands the border problem. It isn't a campaign talking point for him. He truly will seal the border, kill off the cartels and NO amnesty (just as he's been asking the Feds to get off their butts and do for years). More
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

Although I would like The President to cut congressional pay in half and send them home, the assertion is laughable. He is running for President, not Supreme Leader.(Obozo already has that)
Tweet from a reporter with the Perry campaign:
“Perry pounds his fist in his hand and lets out a woop when introducer calls Sheriff Joe a tough as nails sheriff.”
....”Perry appeared alongside Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the controversial Arizona lawman who found himself the subject of charges by the Justice Department earlier this month that he violated civil liberties. Arpaio, who briefly introduced Perry at the start of the event, called it a sneak attack by the Obama administration but suggested a president like Perry would allow him to continue his work unfettered.
In a Fox News interview after the charges were revealed last month, Perry defended his supporter, saying that people were out after Sheriff Joe.
Arpaio campaigned with Perry in New Hampshire just after Thanksgiving. But his presence seemed much more effective in Iowa, as did Perrys pledges to shut down the border with Mexico within a year of taking office. That promise received applause and cheers from the enthusiastic audience.”
Of course it is if that's how you see it. The people VOTE for their representatives. President Perry would campaign for candidates who agree with less pay, less time in D.C., smaller staffs, smaller government; use the bully pulpit. You think the voters won't cheer those campaign appearances?
You say Perry wouldn't be "Supreme Leader" but you seem to feel we are stuck with a "Permanent Ruling Class." I don't. Perry supporters don't.
Perry was the first of the non-Romney candidates the media first spotlighted and then went after to destroy (their modus operandi this cycle). He may well end up being the last non-Romney candidate standing.
another tweet from the campaign trail today:
“In Clarinda, Perry accidentally introduced as governor of California. Man corrects himself and says “he’s governor of a big state” #oops
a follower tweeted back:
“If he WAS the Governor of California, this would would be a much better place. “
PERRY/PALIN?
That's not fair to bring that up...During campaigns, the candidates are allowed to say anything they want...We can't hold it against them when the election is over...
