Something for those who have taken an ABSOLUTELY NOT NEWT stance to consider; In spite of anything Newt may have said in the past, when he was lightyears away from being POTUS, I believe we are dealing with a completely converted Newt at this point.
I base this on his recent books, DVD, etc. The DVD was a review of all the scriptural quotations and appeals to Providence which are sculpted into the government buildings in DC, as a rebuttal against the lie of Separation of Church and State. The latest book is A Nation Like No Other, which describes the Founding of our Nation as it truly happened.
Newt at various times in the past, has spoken out as a Progressive and an admirer of Roosevelt, Wilson, et al. I do not believe he still holds those views. I believe Callista and her parents led him to faith in Christ.
Finally, building on that belief; If Newt were to be elected POTUS he could go one of two ways; As a Progressive, continuing on a path somewhat like Zero has us on right now. Or he could do what I think he has ALREADY TOLD US he intends to do by his writuings and his Contract With America, etc. on his website.
Our Nation is at a crossroads in several respects. Its make or break time. The next President will either repeal Obamacare, fire the Czars, cut taxes and spending, etc,. and set us on a path toward recovery and prosperity, or he will preside over the conclusive slide of our Nation into bankruptcy and oblivion.
Newt does NOT want to go down in the annals of History as the one who completed the destruction of America. He knows that if he turns our Country around and salvages our Freedom, our Liberty and our Greatness, he can EARN the right for himself to be remembered as the Second Coming of several Founding Fathers rolled into one. I believe to my soul, that Newts vision at this time is to be the man who returns The United States of America to her Constitutional Foundations. I believe that is the intention behind his pronouncement that if he becomes POTUS he will teach a History Course on our Founding, on the net or on TV.
I believe he intends to knock the fallacious Separation of Church and State lying hoax into the round file, where it belongs, and teach the people about the Godly underpinnings of our Founding, which is REALLY what made us a GREAT NATION!
I wholeheartedly agree with you. The ‘establishment’ GOP makes me sick. I have had enough of their candidates. Weak sisters, dull as a thud: Dole, McCain, GWB, etc. That is not to say that these weren’t decent human beings...like romney...
I like Newt.
IN JUST ONE WEEK, WE KNOW THESE ABOUT NEWT:
1) He is for Obamas payroll (social security) tax cut extension on LIBERAL grounds that philosophically, you cant keep Bush tax cuts for the rich and not extend social security tax cuts
2) He is against Romney earning money in the private sector working at a capital firm and equates that to him peddling influence for Fannie/Freddie
3) Takes military option off the table vis-a-vis Iran by claiming a military strike is pure fantasy
4) It comes out that he worships FDR (probably more than God?)
5) He loves Andy Stern the SEIU guy
Did I miss anything else?
Did I miss anything else?
yes, 4 more years.
You mean the Newt who spoke yesterday characterizing Romney's work at a venture capital firm as "bankrupting companies and laying off workers", which Krauthammer said you would "expect from a Socialist"?
Newt and Improved. :)
You'll hear plenty more before Iowa. The Tea Party is quickly getting up to speed on the Pied Piper of Politics, and when they do, I don't think they will want to play the part of the hypnotized children in that famous story.
Mark Steyn dislikes him.
All we are saying
Is give Newt a chance
Did I miss anything else?
yes, 4 more years.
You’re right.
We’re in a bad situation.
Compared to whom?
Newt is worse than Juan McMcain and he is very deceptive about his true inner core beliefs. If we were disappointed with some of George W Bush’s liberalism on some big government spending, Newt WILL break your heart!
Has Mark Steyn said who he likes?
We’re screwed.
But will he tear down the groves and high places?
It needs to happen...
I agree with you there.
Newt may be unpredictable and situational, but I don’t think anybody would doubt his patriotism and that he will do whatever it takes to save his country from self-destruction.
I think both Perry and Newt have that much in common.
I will not vote for Gingrich and Romney in the primaries.
Not to my knowledge. But you may want to check. He was, however, against Newt.
I’m for Perry so I am not unbiased. :)
