Martial Law: The Fix Is In (Donofrio)
Natural Born Citizen ^ | 12-5-11 | Leo Donofrio

The new Martial Law Bill which affirms the detention of American citizens indefinitely without due process of law passed the Senate 93-7.

Habeas corpus just got knifed in full daylight, left to bleed in the cracks of the Capitol commingling with the blood of patriots who died for this country.

The blood drawn like butter by Senate vampires drooling and gurgling with delight, appetites satiated… for now. Their ecstasy whisps through depraved neurons as their spit foams upon the very name of freedom.

And while there are hints Obama may veto it, my opinion is that the bill has been set up with the sole purpose of having him do just that.

This bill is a gift to Obama in that it will allow him to look like a true man of the people after he does veto it. But the bill is simply reflective of alleged powers already granted. So the veto won’t change anything.

It will only make him look more Presidential for when he finally does use the already existing draconian measures to detain or kill anyone he wants.

Please see Empire Burlesque’s article on this, and all of the links:

“We’ve been mourning the death of the American Republic here (and at other venues) for many years now, since Congress surrendered its Constitutional responsibilities with the “Enabling Act” it passed on September 14, 2001, giving Bush a blank check for “all necessary and appropriate force” against any organization or individual that he alone declared was somehow connected to the Sept. 11 attacks. Three days later, Bush then declared that he had the right to kill anyone on earth anytime he felt like it and there wasn’t a damn thing anyone could do about it.”

I see a lot of bitching and whining now, but how many of you were doing the same routine when Bush was President?

MARCO RUBIO’S SLANTED POSITION ON SB 1867.

Rubio erroneously claims that the bill does not deny habeas corpus to US citizens:

“In particular, some folks are concerned about the language in Section 1031 that says that this includes “any person committing a belligerent act or directly supported such hostilities of such enemy forces.”

This language clearly and unequivocally refers back to Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or its affiliates. Thus, not only would any person in question need to be involved with Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or its surrogates, but that person must also engage in a deliberate and substantial act that directly supports their efforts against us in the war on terror in order to be detained under this provision.

There is nothing in this bill that could be construed in any way that would allow any branch of the military to detain a law-abiding American citizen if you go to the local gun store or grocery store.”

Bunk! Notice Rubio’s qualifier “to detain a law-abiding American citizen”.

What about citizens who break the laws protesting? What about peaceful demonstrations of civil disobedience? What if citizens dispute that the conduct even breaks the law? This guy should never get near the White House (and he’s not eligible).

His statement above is so blatantly misleading, I can only wonder if he anticipates being drunk with power should the country continue its ignorance of the natural-born citizen clause and one day elect him.

Acts of Congress are interpreted by the courts directly pertaining to the words used in the act itself, and not by the speeches of big brother doublespeak cheerleaders such as Rubio. Mr. Rubio is an attorney who knows better.

His statements above are not naive, nor are they stupid. They are carefully crafted doublespeak from a rising star in the political scene who knows how to skillfully crap from both sides of his mouth.

Let us examine the relevant provisions:

SEC. 1031. AFFIRMATION OF AUTHORITY OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES TO DETAIN COVERED PERSONS PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF MILITARY FORCE.

McStain would be happy with a military junta and him as the generalisimo. He is as crazy as a bedbug. I think the guy has dementia. He is no longer fit to be a Senator.

I agree. And it’s funny the mere mention of his name elicits the usual response.

I think Leo might have seen this thread or gotten comments at his blog along the same lines...

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/updates/terrorism/july-dec01/jr_09-14.html

This states the “use of force” resolution… which makes “harboring” “such organizations or persons” responsible for 911 available for execution… But the definition of “harboring” includes:

“To entertain or nourish (a specified thought or feeling): harbor a grudge.”

Therefore, again, if you “harbor” the idea that al-Qaeda did not bring down the Towers… one might be covered under the resolution. Like I said, the terms of these draconian measures are purposely nebulous.

Then there’s the Patriot act as well. My point was that since 911 the government has been issuing these directives with nebulous language that is designed with catch alls to ensnare who they like.

Measures with implications that would involve the indefinite detention of US citizens are unconstitutional.

A case involving the meaning of the word “harbor” could happen. If they want you bad enough, they will use these vague orders as best they can.

This is America and I don’t give a crap how bad the alleged crime is… citizens are entitled to due process of law. Either the system works or it doesn’t… for all crimes. If a person is a terrorist, we have laws to convict them and we have a jury system. Our system is as good as it gets. These measures seem to indicate that the government does not believe in the jury system and that it can’t be trusted. Too damn bad. This is the US and citizenship means total control of the US Constitution, not draconian paranoid measures which avoid the Constitution.

Bush is guilty of this rape of habeas corpus and he does not get a pass from me. I realize that many people who support this blog do not agree. But the people trying to destroy this nation are grateful that you don’t agree.

Leo “

So be it.

After the most devastating attack on our soil in our history, WTC in ruins, thousands of precious souls brutally murdered, the Pentagon .. seat of our defense and military strength .. penetrated and in flames by our enemies with dozens murdered, the brave, brave heroes of Flt 93, vaporized in Shanksville, PA.

all done by savage muslim beasts, who used our systems
and policies against us, aided by willing foreign accomplices who had been graciously given visas by us to live here in the greatest country on the face of the earth .. to plot their evil depravity to hurt us.

A man, human, flawed, imperfect like all of us, was
unexpectedly thrust into this chaos, Pres. George W. Bush.

He sprung into the role of the most critical person in the globe on that shocking and horrendous day, with the world
on tenterhooks, fearful, awaiting what America would do, what would and could HE do.

The nation, the world are nervous, scared, there’s a lack of calm and confidence in our security. Businesses, the whole economy are shaky, the airlines are on the verge of floundering badly. He’s got all these issues on his plate:
our safety, the state of the military, the global and national financial markets, our infrastructure, etc. etc. Everyone’s jittery, uncertainty and fear are rampant.

This man virtually lived with his cabinet, our allies and the top experts assembled in the fields of defense, national infrastructure, the financial markets, airline and all major business sectors, etc., on his mind and agenda 24/7 for the entire rest of his term.

In the process, he projected clarity, decisiveness, level headedness, good will and good humor and STRENGTH. He inspired calm and confidence, and he was relentless in providing for our security and safety, the MOST important
clause in the Presidential oath.

The above scenarios of the chaos on and after 9/11 is nowhere near the extent of the turbulence and stressful days and hopeful days .. just a little blurb .. and we ALL remember all of it from those frightening times.. and we WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT WAS DONE *TO* US~!

Day and night, his constant companion was work, worry and concern with our safety issues and defense .. untold hours, days, months and months of consultation, deliberation, calculation, brainstorming, planning, recalculating, monitoring, executing his #1 SACRED DUTY AS POTUS .. keeping the USA safe.

Yes .. thank you, Pres. Bush and thank God ... his diligence in pursuing and securing our safety was successful. Against ALL odds and predictions, we had no further attacks here for the rest of his term.

Fact is, the more we’ve relaxed our policies, the more we give foreign terrorist animals ANY rights or legal benefits they don’t deserve because they’re NOT US citizens, the more attempted attacks have grown.

The ‘nicer’ we are, treating them as common criminals rather than the strident and intractable, twisted TERROIST WAR-RIORS they are put in military proceedings at Gitmo, where our homeland ISN’T, the weaker and more vulnerable we look, and savage beasts smell weakness, fear and vulnerability; therefore, the increased incidence of attempted attacks.

We are weakened .. desperately, terrifyingly weakened.

There’ve certainly been more serious, thank God blocked, attacks here since BHO took the helm, aided by the phalanxes of theoretical attorney choirs, arguing for the “rights” of these beasts.

How do they deserve ANY rights from the country they’re trying to destroy? I don’t think so .. and I doubt the Founders would’ve given 2 secs of consideration to coddling of war criminals intent on bringing us down. Only the misguided or bleeding heart lawyers and judges in the theoretical legal argue for that, and they’re hurting this nation and us .. terribly.

God forbid their son or daughter was beheaded by one of these vermin.

And, in what logical universe should an American citizen attempting a terrorist act upon this nation NOT automatically lose his citizenship? Insanity.

I admire and am grateful for all Leo’s years of diligence
and research in pursuing the truth of BHO. I pray he
reveals references or uncovers a truth that’s undeniable, actionable and conclusively resolves this issue once and for all and the reign of madness by this master of American destruction, please God and soon.

And also .. I take GREAT umbrage and deeply resent the Monday morning quarterbacks, post event critics, imperfect humans as well, who attack Pres. Bush and the attempts he made in those days and the entire remainder of his term, as best as he could do and muster, to protect us, with all appurtenant advice and counsel from all the experts, under extreme urgency and duress.

Eschewing the phalanxes of legal scholars and pundits imbued with shallow, selective cherry-picking legal theories, lacking DEADLY SERIOUS, big picture, real DEADLY consequences and REAL WORLD perspective, I’ll take those precious, peaceful nights of sleep and the calm facing the days with Pres. Bush at 1600 Pennsylvania ANY day over our reality today with this most virulent doctor of deception, vengeance, retribution, and anti-Americanism, bar none.

God bless Pres. Bush, God help us, have mercy on us, save us.

I don’t disagree with you. But when a bill like SB 1867 passes the senate.... My God....

Its all based upon law to be found in the USA Patriot act. It isn’t even writing new law. Its reaffirming what is already on the books, and it does open us up to a government beyond any semblance of control - under leadership willing to use it like that. I don’t know about you, but I don’t trust Obama as far as I could throw his angry wife.

When we have laws being written which cold be abused as this opens us up to, we are in grave danger from that government.

Shoot, given the fact I disproved Hawaii’s illegal stance that no long forms are ever given out, which led to enough pressure being applied to Obama to force him to release that apparent forgery of a long form.... does that make me a dangerous dissident of the government? Will the regime come and arrest me? That I even have to ask the question disturbs the crap out of me, and like it should everyone who vocally disagrees with this government.

My dad had a problem with the USA Patriot Act in this regard, and I have to admit, that he was right to question it. The Government should NOT have the right to hold an American Citizen with out trial for ANY amount of time, let alone indefinitely.

Benjamin Franklin said, “Those who would give up essential freedoms for temporary security deserve neither.”

In 1787, before our current constitution was written, there was an armed rebellion in Massachusetts of veterans of the revolutionary war and small land owners who believed the courts were being unreasonable and tyrannical in their methods of executing foreclosures on farm properties. This very short lived conflict is referred to as the Shays Rebellion, and is believed by some historians to have provided the impetus for creating our Constitution.( It was a very few months later that the Constitutional Convention was convened.) Later that same year Thomas Jefferson wrote to a friend regarding this rebellion saying, “…God forbid that we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. …We have had 13 states independant 11 years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country ever existed a century and a half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
