Japan Reportedly Refused Obama Apology for WW II
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^ | 15 Oct 2011 | John Semmens

Posted on 10/17/2011 1:00:34 PM PDT by John Semmens

Leaked confidential cables reveal that the Government of Japan declined to accept an offer of an apology for World War II from President Obama.

The grounds for rejecting the offered were reportedly twofold.

On the one hand, there was the question of credibility. Obama was seen as “a person who has given so many inappropriate apologies to unworthy recipients that the value of an apology from him on this issue is dubious.”

On the other hand, there was befuddlement. “We started the war. Its unsuccessful outcome was the fruit of our own inability to carry it through to a victorious conclusion. The shame is ours. No apology is warranted.”

I wish this wasn't satire.

I wish't Cotton was a monkey.

I wish't I had a watermelon.

Japan is worried about China:

It’s not just ramming and intrusions at sea, and infiltrations near Okinawa by Chinese subs. Just this year JASDF air-intercepts of intruding Chinese aircraft is up ***300%***.

China thinks that A LOT of stuff in the Western Pacific belongs to her.

In 5 or so years there will be a war about this, and that dummy was going to shoot his mouth off.

Some stuff has NOTHING to do with our feelings or ideology.

I’m sure Obama thinks WE really started the war by “provoking” Japan into launching a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. In his mind, the Japanese had no choice.

The way the world is going, we don’t have 5 years!

The Japanes have show quite a lot of class and dignity about this issue

On top of their increidble response to the horrible earthquake and tsunami

I am NOT surprised they told Obama to kiss off.

I love their reasons

You couldnt make this stuff up. What a fereaking lunatic pResident? I guess a good question would be what prompted him to apologize in the first place.

The Japanese are much smarter than stupid 0bama. They don’t want to tear the scab off the old war wounds. If 0bama apologized then there would be a lot of talk about the Rape on Nanking, the Battan Death March, their horrible treatment of Allied POW’s, the atrocites committed against the Filipino people, and on and on and on. The Japanese have more to apologize for than we do, and they know it.

That Roosevelt was cutting off Philippine, Indonesian and Chinese sources of oil and gas for Japan is a matter of history. That Japan was utterly dependent upon these sources of oil and gas for its economy is also a fact. One might argue that that wasn't enough cause for Pearl Harbor, or that there were other Japanese belligerencies that were in the equation. But ignoring the reality of an ongoing, massively pressuring oil and gas exclusion war against the Japanese before WWII is simply ignorant. And if such pressure had been put upon the United States, we certainly would have considered war one of the options.

First, Obama’s apologies have little or no value ~ mostly through overuse and to unworthy people. Secondly the Japanese do not want to LOSE CREDIT for starting the war. Last thing they’ll do is give up that credit to a cretin like Obama.

The Philippines were ours and Japan had already invaded China.

But ignoring the reality of an ongoing, massively pressuring oil and gas exclusion war against the Japanese before WWII is simply ignorant.

So if Iran launches a sneak attack against us today that is jim dandy?

Japan was already at war with countries that we considered friendly and was eying our territories in Asia. To ignore that is to be a historical revisionist.

Huh? How was Roosevelt cutting off Chinese sources as Japan had overrun much of China?

Honestly, I’m sure Japan had other alternatives than to attack America.

Or do you part of the blame America for everything crowd too?

I heard more than three liberals actually tell me that. No doubt that Obama believes this as well.

I thought the 3rd reason was because they thought Obama owed his apology to the Germans, not the Japanese. After all, for decades we have ridiculed Adolph Hitler and his toothbrush moustache, making the Germans look like fools for ever letting him become their leader. If we’d just sat back and let the Nazis overrun England the way they did Poland, Danzig, and France, none of that woulda happened...The world would have been spared our evil nuclear bombing of Japan and post-war American hegemony. The Nazis and Communists could have just peacefully divided up the world while USA accepted its role as a second-rate power. Isn’t it obvious that this would have made the world a better place?
