It will be Perry for the GOP

Gov. Rick Perry will win the GOP nomination for the presidency.

Here's why. Mitt Romney is a certified RINO, a ruling class Republican of the type that spawned the Tea Party. There would be no Tea Party were it not for big government, country club Republicans like Mitt Romney.

Herman Cain does not have the money or organization to go the distance, Newt Gingrich is too flawed personally, Michelle Bachmann is out of gas, and Ron Paul is and will always be a fringe candidate. Rick Santorum has yet to gain any real traction and that is unlikely to change.

Rick Perry, on the other hand, has the organization, experience, resources and, most of all, the values to go the distance.

Lots of unknowns about the 999 plan as to how it will impact the individual. I’d like to see the list of what isn’t going to be taxed at the Federal Level and who isn’t going to pay that tax. In other words what and who will be exempt from the federal tax.

State and local taxes will at least remain the same or as you say maybe increase if possible.

But the most important part of the plan is how does Cain intend to get it implemented? He can’t do it by the wave of his pen so he must get the Congress to act. That isn’t the easiest thing in the world to do.

What do you mean? 9%=.9 + 9%=.9 =18%=.18

18% of $10,000 is $1,800 hence $10,000+$1,800=$11,800

Did you mean math fail for you?

Perry screwed the pooch with his comments re: illegals. That was a deal killer for a lot of people.

Cain shows promise, but, as was pointed out, he has no campaign organization established, and nil in any campaign treasury.

Newt is flawed, to be sure, but he is unquestionably the most qualified of the lot, though m,ost qualified does not often equate with most electable.

Santorum is good, but, also as pointed out, just has no traction. I don’t know why, unless he has the most incompetent campaign staff in years.

If it comes down to it, I can live with Perry, especially if he appoints John Bolton SOS and Sarah Sec’y of Energy. And, yes, I’d like to see Newt play a major role in a Perry Administration (or in anyone’s administration). Perry would be my fourth choice, though, behind Cain, Newt, and Santorum.

I don’t like Romney at all.

Your logic is sound, I’m just nitpicking.

10,000 x .18 = 1,800

10,000 + (10,000 x .18) = 11,800

See, this is why I am convinced Perry is going to win. God rules in the kingdom of men.

I have heard Perry called a fake Christian by supposed Christians. Now you are here to insinuate not only is Perry gay, but he loves porn.

By the way The Movie Gallery was one of the largest VHS movie rental chains in the south and some had an adult section. This was before Blockbuster took over the scene when many VHS rental stores were small family owned operations. But you knew that.

I thank the Lord Jesus Christ he sends people like you to encourage me in Perry's inevitable victory. While Perry and his people talk policy, his opponents go into the gutter.

Check out his latest speech in PA. It's very inspiring, not in the Herman Cain "I'm gonna build a 20" electric fence on the border with barbed wire and sign that says "this will kill you" on it"

It's more of a positive 1st step plan to tap into energy as a first part economic jolt to the system. CSpan.org has the video. Watch it and you will not regret it.

I'm for Perry but just like Perry is getting cheap shots on immigration, Cain is getting cheap shots on his tax plan.

9-9-9 is a HUGE improvement over what we got now with regard to the federal tax situation. It's not how I would like to see it fixed but at least someone has stuck his neck out regarding fixing the problem.

I like, btw, what both Cain and Perry feel about the EPA. I like what they both think about social issues. I like what they think about energy.

These two are both so much better than what we were stuck with in 2008 my head spins.

A Freeper shouldn't rip either regardless of who he wants.

If somebody says something stupid in a debate or TV interview -- and that would be Herman -- just let it go.

Just say no to Romney.

Now explain that to seniors and those living under the poverty level while Obama tells them you want to raise their taxes by 18% and tax grandma's medicine.

Do it all while talking foreign policy, environment and job creation and make it stick.

He can’t do it by the wave of his pen so he must get the Congress to act. That isn’t the easiest thing in the world to do.

And the chances of that happening are "slim" and "none". There will be carve outs for the "poor" I understand that has already been stated on his website. What will they do, give people a card to say they are "poor" to present when they are shopping so they don't get charged tax? They do away with the tax code, so who determines what is a direct cost and what is an overhead cost for determining the taxable base?

If the 9% is added to a new home but not a used home, who would ever build a new house? The same for cars. Who would be willing to buy a new car and pay an additional 9% when you can buy a used car and save that tax?

Romney's appeal has remained flat while Cain's appeal/poll has risen

Romney is known and boring; Cain is new and unknown.

Perry would be trounced in a debate by Obama. He can’t even hold his own with GOP candidates. I listened to the last debate on radio and Perry sounded pathetic and full of nothing but platitudes, whereas all the other candidates offered specifics. He will lose big time to Skippy if nominated. Folks, we are in a bad situation now. I like Cain but I’m not sure he can win.

Cain is new and unknown

As you say the preacher from Antioch Baptist Church North - Atlanta isn't a known just yet. If he maintains his rise in the polls expect the powers that be to apply a proctoscope and then we may know a little of his history, associates, dealings, beliefs, etc. Until then we are pretty much clueless.

*That is just federal taxes, do you think the state taxes are just going to go away?*

You add that state taxes to all of that NOW!

Why are ‘conservatives’ just peachy with TONS of taxes that they can’t see, but as soon as they’re visible, they have a fit - EVEN WHEN THE VISIBLE TAX IS LOWER.

You pretty much nailed it. Perry will get stomped by Obama in any debate, and unfortunately that will be the lasting impression on the voting public. Cain has the correct positions on almost all the issues but lacks experience in the political arena. While some may count that as a positive, IMO he will be vulnerable in the general election. If he makes any kind of gaffe the ‘Rat media will crucify him. I guess that leaves Romney (not my preference) as our best hope to give Obummah the boot, but even that is problematic, and would be a very, very difficult choice, almost a Morton's Fork “decision”.

"There will be carve outs for the “poor”"

I have a problem with that line of thinking.

At every stage of our country's Socialist development, the percentage of "poor" has always increased. The "War on Poverty" was supposed to alleviate poverty. It has not, and there are now more "poor" people than ever before.

Besides, it is high time for the "poor" to start paying their "fair share" of taxes. Yes, I say we need to raise taxes on the "poor", and I am serious!

No more means testing, no more "carveouts", no more freebies, and no more BS!
