Like showing disrespect and contempt for Americans in uniform.
A femal member of the Coast Guard was harrassed and spit upon as she walked by the Occupy Boston demonstration.
Fox news (MyFoxBoston.com)
The Coast Guard in Boston confirmed that a woman in uniform was harassed and spat upon near Occupy Boston protesters.
The woman was walking to the train and said protesters spit on her twice, called her foul names and even threw a water bottle at her.
Now, the Coast Guard is warning all staff working on Atlantic Avenue to avoid those protesters while in uniform.
Devon Pendleton, a spokesman for Occupy Boston, doesn't believe that those male protestors are actually part of the movement....

Need I say more?
and the police?????
Thanks you jerk, Bloomberg!
guess we won’t see that in the NYT.
I had that happened to me while going home from Camp Pendleton, on leave in 1970.
The place was O’Hare.
The result: One Hippy turd arrested by Chicago Police for: Assault, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Possession of Marijuana and a couple of other charges that I have since forgotten.
This is AFTER the Chicago cops pulled me off of him. He was unconscious, had a broken jaw, and at least a couple of broken ribs (according to one of the cops).
I made my connecting flight with no further incident. One of the officers insisted that he carry my duffle bag to that gate.
Same behaviour Viet Nam vets and Viet Nam Era vets got...why should we be shocked. These are the same kinds of creeps of the 60s and 70s...
They are treating the “first responders” with the same kind of contempt.
Betcha this won’t make it on MSNBC — only fictitious expectorations from phantom Tea Party members.
We should send R. Lee Ermey down in uniform just to see if some jackwagon wants to give this a try again...
Today, in almost every locality I can think of, you’d do serious time and he’d be free as a bird, with a very viable and lucrative lawsuit against you. That’s how much things have changed since 1970. I wish I had the resources to start looking at other countries.
WTH???
REMEMBER WHO IS PRESIDENT and what he just allowed in the military!
Yeah, right.
I am glad you were able to give that hippie what he had coming.
Nowadays like a another post here has pointed out, even laying a finger on a miscreant would be unthinkable as much as it would be hard not to do.
The military just trying to protect its members...I remember when my recruiters couldn’t wear their uniforms onto some university campuses due to picketing during Operation Desert Storm. And, I remember other recruiters’ offices being shot at in Detroit and burned out in LA...trust me, we would have all rather been doing our regular jobs in the military even if we were doing them in a warzone—having to avoid confrontation with our own American citizens (even if those citizens were very anti-military, anti-establishment, and probably pro-communist/Marxist/socialist/anarchy) was very demoralizing, frustrating, and mostly infuriating!
I feel nothing but shame from your comments.
America’s heart is proud and free. Our military have that heart and go willingly to defend us from our enemies.
Yet, we citizens, are weak. Our own service members must hide their identity from so called ‘citizens’ here because true American will not defend them nor will we prosecute or shun the social engineers who make our own military hide from our own citizens on our own soil.
Do you see how wrong this is? They are too busy on their own assignments to deal with the citizens and inhabitants of this country so they don’t wear their uniforms proudly on their own soil.
Its shameful.
We are to blame.
What? They should start walking in pairs, in uniform, right past the protesters! Have a couple of beefy friends NOT in uniform behind them so that if trouble starts, THEY can be out of it, since they're in uniform, but the perps will get what's coming to them.
The republican party should have its members escort the uniformed service people past the ‘demonstrators’. And I am serious when I say this.
Yeah, by all means, don't confront your adversaries. That might show backbone!
At least now military vets who’ve proudly served aren’t treated as rudely as those of the Vietnam and Korea eras were...I remember being told by my mom to NOT tell people where my dad was (Vietnam) and be “low key” about us being a military family...thank goodness things have changed!
And, in spite of those hate-filled folks who treated me and my recruiters badly, there were even more good, patriotic Americans who easily wanted to shake our hands, tell us their stories, buy us a meal or coffee or a soda. I am sure those good people way, way outnumber the types who are using up their 15 minutes of fame with the OWS junk.
