Prayers please. I had eye surgery to replace my lens with implant. I suffered a torn retina which was repaired and supposedly looking good after 2 months, so I was cleared to have the other eye done.
Last Saturday, over a couple hour period, the original eye suffered a drastic event and I was diagnosed with a retinal detachment which encompassed the macula and nearly the entire body of the retina - effectively leaving me blind in my left eye. I saw the doctor again today and will have reattachment surgery on Thursday.
It goes without saying that I'm afraid my left eye may end up seriously compromised and if I had any idea that the left eye would self-destruct like this, I would have not had the procedure done on my right eye too. While the right eye appears to be OK for now, I am really worried that it might suffer a similar fate (no signs now, but the prospect is next to terrifying).
Please offer up your prayers that the right eye remains viable and that the reattachment is successful to give me at least a modicum of visual acuity in my left eye.
Also, if anyone has had a similar experience/surgery, I would appreciate knowing how it worked out.
God Bless in advance for your prayers. - Bob

God Bless you and all the others that have offered their prayers. I know they can do amazing things - thanks for the hopeful comment.
You are going to be FINE. I am always right about everything! So you need to relax, maybe have a cocktail and thank God for your lovely wife. My friend who had two detached retinas at the same time has no vision problems whatsoever. These doctors today know what they are doing and that was almost 20 years ago.
Seriously, God Bless You and stay in touch with us.
God Bless you and all the others that have offered their prayers. Thank you for the prayers - both now and on Thursday.

You are very sweet, mom. I’m so touched by your post and I’m not the one who has a trouble today. It’s people like you who will one day lead me back to church.
I’ll add you to our Parish Prayer list for successful surgery on both your eyes!
Prayers up!
nobody has any real pull.

But as you say GOD Hears All prayers.
My prayers are with you. My late husband was blind the last 15 years of his life.
