Just saw this story in the NYTimes speculating on whether Ms. Governor-of-Alaska-for-a-while Sarah Palin will announce she is running for president.
I am fascinated that Utah’s Oct. 15 deadline for a list of potential candidates is the first hint that we’ll see, nation-wide, that she intends to toss her hat (expensive like last time?) into the ring.
Other than that, who cares? All the other GOP candidates have flamed out — the latest Great Political Hope (a hint at the old “Great White Hope” construction, but Cain is black) Texas Gov. Perry is in the process of making a ass out of himself, proposing to get American Troops involved in the Mexican drug war, as if we don’t already have our troops involved in enough expensive quagmires around the world. Perry is apparently doing this to look tough on immigration because his statements that letting school children of immigrants stay in school was being humane was apparently was too wishy-washy for the Tea Party crowd, and these brave bold leaders in the GOP don’t dare offend the tea party.
Seriously, they all do it. The Tea Party crowd — old white rich and pissed off Republicans — farts and these guys all change their minds to demand it smells like roses. Are they really leaders? Or followers?
And who are they following? Old white rich and pissed off Republicans.
The GOP presidential race is looking more and more like a clown car with a never-ending supply of clowns. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad.

When I see a post that looks suspicious, as did palladin`s, I do a quick 45 second look at their in forum posts.
This guy Palladin is like a rash on Palin threads making indecent comments one after the other.
If I had the time to do the same with all the people that came to Palladin`s defense, I imagine I would find the same with them.
If his defenders had any cred, they would have first checked his in forum posts before they came to his aid.
So please keep the graphic in circulation, you are indeed hitting them where it hurts.
Personally, I believe that Palin has decided long ago that she will be running. However, due to the type of campaign she intends to run, it does not make tactical sense to formally announce any sooner than she has to.
Believe it or not, when she does announce and the campaign gets underway, people are simply not going to remember (or care) that she did not get into the race until fairly late in the game. Hell, most people can't even remember what they had for dinner three nights ago.

That said, with regards to the substance of the matter. She could blow off Utah with impunity.
Oct. 15 is meaningless. Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, however, are much more important.
I really want Palin to run, if she doesn't she has her reasons and I'll sport someone else. She can run on her own time table, I am not going to tell her what to do, unless she asks of course. This running years before the first primary is just stupid. I mean states are moving up primaries, I am expecting primaries for 2016 to be showing up soon, with cries if you don't declare by 2012 you can't win in 2016.
This whole declaring on someone else's time schedule and months and months before primaries is just annoying.
I was a big Sarah fan, but her supporters on FR have changed me. I don't give a damn if she runs or not. The name calling that you just got is a prime example.

The post you’re referring to stated that it was the attitude, as a general matter, of the Saint Sarah worshippers that had turned the poster off, and that the name-calling the Cultists are currently engaging in on this thread was a perfect example of the sort of objectionable behaviour the Cultists engage in. That is not the same thing as saying that they stopped supporting Palin because the Saint Sarah Cultists were calling the poster names.
