ANN Coulter + LAURA Ingraham = PALIN ENVY
9/8/2011 | vanity

Posted on 09/08/2011 10:46:53 AM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

Ann Coulter + Laura Ingraham = two Ivy League BA holding women w/ law school degrees who at some point in their life, likely dreamt of holding high political office (Coulter almost ran for Congress in Connecticut!)--but neither had the courage to challenge the old boy establishments of which they hail from, so they instead "followed the rules of the system" (as ivy leaguers are trained to do) and settled for the sole outlets by which feminist-minded women (the conformist breed of feminist) can gain the kind of stature they were desiring:

This meant settling for something "easier" and less adventurous aka: professional punditry and criticism, sitting on the SIDELINES of the arena, while catering to heartland audiences all while "living the elitist" life they supposedly decry and stand above (both are notorious for DATING liberal, PRO-ABORTION, elite MEN. Ingraham dated Keith Olbermann, Ann Coulter dated liberal NY Congressman Andrew Stein.)

Did they offer valuable insight and contributions to the conservative movement? OF COURSE! Are their writings worthwhile reading? SURE! Do they have some honest convictions behind what they say? Absolutely.

BUT at the end of the day, they are WOMEN, trained to believe in ever-so-limited roles for influence. SARAH PALIN threatens their STATUS. Yes, the free-spirited woman from Alaskan wilderness, with a husband of 25 years, 5 children with a Down's Syndrome one to boot, and an actual RECORD of *TANGIBLE* ACCOMPLISHMENT -- not just an archive of commentary written behind a desk in a nicely lit Manhattan apartment! YES. OF COURSE, they resent Palin -- however subconscious this resentment may be.

Their whole lives have been defined by working within the system--never truly challenging it. ANd here coems Saintly True-Christian, Naturally Pretty, Provocative (in a non sexual way) and Controversial without even trying--> Sarah from Wasilla with a journalism degree from podunk, Idaho (ironic isn't it? No J.D. like the others?), and she actually has risen ABOVE the system and demolished the strongholds of the very old boy networks Ingraham and Coulter have kissed up to their whole lives, with their ever well-maintained blonde hair and carefully lotioned legs.

As the years pass them by, their looks harder to maintain, and the landscape of the media changes, the last thing they would want is someone to outshine their "starpower" roles within the conservative movement and its legacy. You betcha they don't want Palin to be President. She steals all the attention!

Palin has been brought to honor by GOD for "such a time as this" and the people of the world feel shamed and confounded. 1 Corinthians, Chapter 1 at work people. READ IT!

Up next: a similar observation about the subconscious motivations of "real conservative" MEN who tout Perry over Palin even though they know Palin is the better candidate. Similar case of Palin envy and status anxiety, but for different reasons. Don't let em fool ya. I will not let the inferiority complexes of insecure people decide for me who will take on leadership of the free world thank you very much.

I must agree. Nothing Coulter or Ingraham said about Palin is logically coherent.

“Sarah Palin threatens their status.”

This nails it, and it applies to all who are part of the permanent political class.

You make some good points, and with due respect, some not so good ones.

First, I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t a bit of Palin envy in the mix. So I’ll grant you that. In the meantime, I choose to enjoy all three being on the scene.

But you stray in some other assumptions. Coulter takes a lot of slings and arrows and has not worked the system so much as she has created her own system. She has a unique place on the stage (as does Palin). So I think you reached here to make a point that does not exist.

Now perhaps this is true of Ingraham, who as late as a few years ago was still apologizing for Dan Rather as a fine and unbiased and professional journalists. SHHH - she doesn’t want anyone to remember that. SHHH.

But even Laura has greatly improved on radio and TV IMO - for the most part. The O Reilly Factor is much better when she hosts.

I think it’s fine to opine that there is some Palin envy here. But to trash what Ingraham and Coulter bring to the mix I think weakens your case, which can probably be made. Again, with all due respect....

Normally I don’t even bother reading a vanity post unless it’s a request for prayer. Glad I read this one. Well thought out and well written!

I’ve always liked Laura’s show, but I read some of one of her books and she sounded kinda like a pompous ass, frankly. She was trying to be funny but complaining about stuff she had no right to complain about. And it really was a sort of “ivy league rich bit**” thing.

I really like Coulter both in print as well as in videos, but she does sort of turn “ugly” regarding the Palin thing.

I still like ‘em both, but they are not perfect, obviously. The Palin thing really does seem to bring out the worst though.

Interesting article. Envy and Pride are two of the most prevalent, destructive emotions, which are quite common in very good people, but to a much lesser degree than in evil people. Pride and envy continually rear their ugly heads, so it takes intentional effort to combat it.

“she has created her own system”

Let’s admit the system created by Coulter is based only on saying things that shock people, from the comfort of her elitist abode.

On the other hand, Palin has actually worked, against extreme odds and at great personal risk, to overthrow corruption in favor of liberty.

Thank you for your response Wright. I did acknowledge in my entry that they have offered valuable contributions to the conservative movement and do have some genuine convictions.

That being said, at the time of greatest reckoning for the conservative movement and the future of this nation as a whole, which is NOW, they have chosen to act like jealous high-school girls and are fearing for their status rather than the future of this nation.

Same goes for Bill O’Reilly and a host of other members of the establishment.

sounded kinda like a pompous ass........I agree and do not listed or watch her anymore.

I remember when she used to be on a panel on Fox commenting on George W Bush’s speeches she and that little toad William Kristol used to giggle on like little school children making poopie jokes, no thanks.

Laura Ingraham is a fine soldier in our ranks, but she is one of those people that goes for laughs despite just being an unfunny person.

I remember a few years back Ingraham dropped the ball on a Fox News 5pm show. She would open the show with about 75 seconds of comedy based on the day’s news. It was brutal. Horribly unfunny. She just doesn’t have it.

They can’t stand the idea (besides being a successful business woman, mother, and basically multi-talented, beautiful woman), that Sarah is more witty than either of them.

I don’t believe that I said anything negative about Palin - I love her story and have been a bigtime supporter since she had a 2% name ID. What Coulter has accomplished does not take away from Palin or vice versa. They are both pioneers.

And to educate you where you are lacking, Coulter built her career on giving conservative speeches at liberal colleges. In fact, she still does this and still does a lot more face to face functions than almost anyone on the national pundit stage. She answers questions spontaneously on a routine basis in front of friendly and unfriendly crowds. She does NOT stay cooped up in her elitist abode, so you are wrong about that. And she does not just shock, she uses humor as a rapier to skewer liberals with a skill few have.

But apparently the Palin bots will not allow us to love Palin and another. Shame.

My theory is, if Palin won the presidency, so many problems would be fixed that the “authors”, Ingrahm and Coulter, would have little to write about.

I’ll not buy another one of their books until they put the country before profit.

Ingraham is a Connecticut snood!

It’s becoming even more difficult to stay pretty with High-Def TV showing all the details!

Have you seen Bill Oreilly without makeup? Hideous, and gooly.

Fair enough, and as I stated up front, I do think you are onto something with the jealousy thing - at least to a degree.

Both of them OUTRIGHT refuse to watch ‘The Undefeated’. That demonstrates their absolute terror when confronted with Sarah.
