This morning on Fox & Friends, Clayton Morris had Democrat Ellis Cose, Republican Strategist Ford OConnel, who worked for the McCain/Palin campaign in 2008 and Amy Siskind of The New Agenda.
Ellis Cose goes with the usual media talking points; Palin is yesterdays news, polarizing, her numbers are low etc the usual stuff youde expect from a democrat who spends most of his time trying to explain to the world how irrelevant Governor Palin is but cant stop talking about her. Im not even going to bother rebutting him.
Ford OConnel, while saying that Governor Palin will have to work hard, says that the bottom line with Governor Palin is that with her you never know, shes a tireless campaigner and she could do very well in Iowa. In other words dont underestimate her.
Amy Siskind makes an interesting point, something that Ive never really heard any one make. Siskind argues that contrary to what the media and the left try to tell us, Governor Palin is the only candidate in the GOP field that can actually unite the country and bring people together and is the only one who can actually deliver solutions. She says that if you look at Palins record as Governor she was able to explain to the people what needs to be done and then was able to bring both sides together to work together. Palin is a different type of leader at a time when the country is looking for a different type of leader
Cose actually concedes that its an interesting argument.
Sarah Palin has a unique style and a unique talent to foster cooperation that I dont think anybody else in the GOP field does
Americans now are looking for solutions. There is two people I think that can deliver solutions, one of them is Sarah Palin because I think if she comes into office shes a different type of leader than anybody else in the GOP field, based on what she did as Governor. Where she was able to explain to the people of her state what was needed, which is clearly something our leaders are not doing, and then she was able to get both sides to work together. There is nobody else in the GOP field thats been able to to that.
Watch the video:
I don’t think the GOP would have a problem uniting behind Rick Perry, and probably a number of dark horses as well.
totally agree. it’s Palin or nobody.
Hey, right now I am uniteing around the dictator in Libya.
I agree. I don’t see Palin as unique in that regard. I see Republicans rallying around Bachmann, Perry, Palin and perhaps others.
I would vote for him if he was the nominee but I won’t donate to him.
I agree.
Sarah Palin would inflame the libs like nothing imaginable. When McCain announced that she had been selected, I knew libs that stopped everything to campaign against her. McCain bothered them. Palin terrified them.
Palin cleaned out the Alaskan Government. The RINOs are afraid she will do something similar in D.C.
No one will “unite the country”. We have 20% of the population that are hardline socialists. They won’t unite around anyone who isn’t a socialist.
I believe that Palin alone really wants to reverse years of creeping (and sometimes bounding) socialism. But the liberals who worship Obama will hate her every minute and for every socialistic law and regulation and EO she overturns. Even as the US once again turns toward prosperity, they will hate her and be convinced that she is destroying the US.
Unifying, sure, that’s what we do after a nominee exists. Even if it’s McCain.
But the point of the writer was that Palin has a proven ability to get people to work together for the good of the state, crossing ideology and political party. I’m not seeing that in any other candidate.
bump.
You missed the point. Siskind's point is not that Palin is the only candidate who can unite the GOP, but that she's the only GOP candidate who can unite the American public. She uses Palin's record of uniting Dems, Reps, and Independents to get things done in Alaska as proof.

Thanks The Bronze Titan. Whoops, this got moved right out from under me into Bloggers.
For me, it's PALIN or BUST! Just being upfront. The rest of them are just part of the same ol same ol establishment as far as I'm concerned! Everyone can whine ABBO all they want, but that's the way it is. The country wants to get suckered into BUSH 3.0, then so be it. They can reap the rewards.
Thanks for the ping!
This is no joke. The Mediots have known this since Sept ‘08.
Palin has the magic that can penetrate traditional voting patterns, and that is going to blow up the DC conspiracy for ever.
