My name is Daryn J. Moran. I am a SSgt in the USAF stationed in Germany.
I called Pastor Manning of the Manning Report just recently (Youtube video posted below) to share my concern for our country. Boils down that I have not gone in to work last Thurs. and Fri. First time I was AWOL in nearly 13 years. Until B. Obama provides a birth certificate which stands up to professional examination, not even mentioning the seriousness of the fact that his father was never an American, I no longer serve the Armed Forces or take orders.
Basically, I'd rather follow Mr. Lakin, the ex-Army officer who went to Ft. Leavenworth, into war against our real enemies.
My family is in turmoil because I cannot change my heart to support Obama, or protect his criminality. I love America and the Constitution and stand against B. Obama. He should be arrested.

Ummm... you don't know and neither do I know what's going to happen.
We have had an absence of delusional Birther posts to the predicting that either the Court Martial will -- somehow -- remove BO from office, or that the military will be so terrified of letting the case go to trial, that they will let the guy go.
We already know that the military won't entertain evidence that Obama is not a legitimate Constitutional president.
The court martial, if it went that far, would be just about that he was absent from duty and not the reasons why he did it.
The sergeant would likely be offered an article 15 for being AWOL depending on circumstances, but commanders are advised by their local JAG offices if they offer Non-Judicial Punishment, be prepared to take it to court martial if the member refuses NJP. However, for whatever reasons, the commander could be bluffing going all the way to court martial that the member called his bluff by refusing the NJP. It is more convenient, and less paperwork and headache for the commander to remove his "problem child" by ushering him out the door since the subordinate is about to be discharged from the service.

His crime according to the sergeant is AWOL, and it is not his opinion of Obama.

I have been pondering the phenomena of the Obots, and it seems to me that most of the ones we deal with are unlikely to be Obama supporters. I am suspecting they are more likely RNC establishment types, running interference because the old boy network absolutely doesn't like this issue. (They find it so boorish and boring, and WORSE! It turns of Moderates and Independents. (Which I think is the REAL reason for their opposition.))
A long time ago I was arguing with some conservative commenters and bloggers on "Ace of Spades HQ" and when I said they were spiking the issue because they thought it hurt us politically, and so therefore they were putting expediency above principle, they came unglued. They were absolutely foaming at the mouth mad. That's how you know you've got them, when they start screaming at you!
I'm just saying, I suspect most of the people who are trying to interfere with the discussion are not liberals, I think they are RNC party types, mostly from the NorthEast.
Disobeying orders because you personally believe the President is illegal is simple cowardice disguised as nobility. What if a soldier did the same thing because he didn’t think Bush was elected in 2000? If this guy is going to go AWOL during wartime, he picked a lousy reason to do it.

I agree that the military is a lot more concerned with an O5 expressing contempt for the President than an E5. And with good reason.
But this isn't grumbling over a cup of coffee at work, or over a beer after work. SSgt. Moran has committed a military crime in order to create a forum -- his court martial -- in which he can air his political views. That is exactly what LTC Lakin did.
But LTC Lakin either had, or was on course to have, his 20 years in, and he was careful to attempt to frame his actions in a way that he sought judicial relief.
This knucklehead has been posting for months that he is being involuntarily separated, with 13 years in. So when the court martial weights his punishment, it won't have to come up with a term of imprisonment in addition to depriving him of his pension, and retirement health care, it will just have to come up with a term of imprisonment. Plus, he didn't just refuse an order, he called on Americans to lay hands on and arrest, without a warrant, the Commander in Chief. I still put the minimum term of imprisonment at 150% of what LTC Lakin got.
As for an Art. 15, forget it. If this guy missed a few days work because of marital problems, or depression, or a hangover, he might, since he is being involuntarily separated (so he posts) anyway, get an Art. 15. Rather than use all the resources required by a court martial, his CO might decide to use non-judicial punishment, and stamp the guy's discharge papers with the sort of re-enlistment code that will keep him out of the service unless the Chinese Marines are landing at Long Beach. But this guy is guy is getting a general court martial.
Certainly, a retired CDR knows the difference between a soldier and an airman.

The lengths that folks will go to here to spin are just amazing. No...his seniority is based on his rank and time in grade. Period. It has jack to do with time in service. Anyone who spent more that a day in the military knows this.
Sorry, I thought they all swore to do that if required. Pardon me Mr. Sunshine patriot, but it would have been easier if people like you had joined the chorus demanding answers before things got this bad. Yes, they are not supposed to March into Maryland and arrest the Maryland State Legislature.
Any assertion of political interest or interference with the operation of the political process — you know, elections, legislation, law enforcement, things like that — would be CONTRARY to their role as explicitly defined in the Constitution and in such places as the Posse Comitatus and Insurrection Acts.
An act passed exactly BECAUSE the Military marched into Maryland and arrested the Maryland State legislature. (among other things.) Please do not prattle on about the Military's need to be "A-Political." It is a fiction that only lasts so long as it is needed, to be replaced by the reality when necessary.
Fortunately, throughout our history, the Military has tended to act with a clear perception of and loyalty TO that concept — this despite profound provocations like The Civil War, the Bonus Army marchers and 9/11.
The Military did what it was told, even when the results were an unmitigated disaster, and officers should have resigned rather than follow such horrible orders. Vietnam, that product of the Illegal election of Kennedy, is one example of the consequences of the "I was just following orders" mindset.
We lauded the Wehrmacht Dissenters, and despised the "following orders" troops, yet the accountability we have demanded from them belies the arguments people such as yourself present now. Whether they be heroes or Villains, depends on which side wins the conflict I suppose.

Hello, my name is SSgt Daryn J. Moran. Today I am Absent Without Leave from my duty assignment for the USAF in Landstuhl, Germany. I no longer follow orders while they refuse to hear my case that B. Obama has a fake birth certificate and has lied to us all about it.
I’m at home waiting to be picked up to go to the brig.
I do not support B. Obama in any way, shape or form. I was due to get out soon under an administrative and Honorable discharge for a “Personality Disorder”, because I told them homosexuality is sin. And, about the President. I will not wait to get home to the States, all cushy in my house before fighting back against an illegal and lying President.
I am telling everyone now, that B. Obama should be arrested. It’s simple. Arrest him, or me. But I won’t follow anymore orders from a gay, lying, weak, treasonous military.
