New Low: 17% Say U.S. Government Has Consent of the Governed

Fewer voters than ever feel the federal government has the consent of the governed.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 17% of Likely U.S. Voters think the federal government today has the consent of the governed. Sixty-nine percent (69%) believe the government does not have that consent. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here .)

The number of voters who feel the government has the consent of the governed - a foundational principle, contained in the Declaration of Independence - is down from 23% in early May and has fallen to its lowest level measured yet.

Taxation without representation.
Government without consent of the people.

Why there is no outright revolution kind of amazes me.

As America continues to decline more and more each and every day, Rasmussen still has Obama at a solid 47% approval rate! This is a higher approval rate than ANY other polling company right now. How the f&ck is that???

I’m actually surprised that that many Americans are aware that the U.S Government is supposed to have the consent of the governed.

Without the consent of the government, the government can no longer justly exercise power over the people.

The MAJORITY of Americans did not and still do not want Barry’s Communist ObamaCare. It was rammed down our throats by our “public servants” for their minority (In the original sense of the word.) voter base as a payback for their votes and the union knuckledraggers who won’t be subject to the rationing, outrageous taxes and other bull**** that comes with a socialist/communist “health care program”.

from Wikipedia as of 2010 - in the United States - Black or African Americans, alone 12.6% Some other race alone (Mestizo, Mulatto...) 6.2%. They seem to be the only ones who like him..... hmmmmmmm

Obviously 83% of voters are wrong, according to the freepers who claim our Republic has been ruined by the eeeeeeeevil "democracy" and we have SO much direct democracy now that we're headed towards "mob rule". Everyone KNOWS government is held hostage by a simple majority. Why, I bet the government is going to INSIST that ALL 300 million Americans vote on whether they want Obamacare, gays serving openly in the military, the debt ceiling deal, bailouts, and the appointment of every Obama adminstration czar any day now.

Most americans get that, but their elected officials don't.

A small minority of freepers aren't aware of this either -- they will insist the founders simply wanted a "Republic" WITHOUT the people as the ultimate source of authority, and that state legislatures are solely responsible for everything that's not the federal government's job.

Rasmussen words their questions carefully to give Obama credit for the smallest amount of confidence as a positive. I was reading the polls earlier today and they said that 47% had any degree of confidence in Obama. That way, unless you are ready to toss him out of office, it is counted as a positive.

Rasmussen still states that any generic Republican would beat Obama by 5% points, so even that doesn’t jive with the 47% approval. It should be, at the highest, 45%.

Actually, I think that what it said was any degree of confidence, so they probably asked to rate the percentage of confidence that they have in Obama from zero to five. Anything greater than zero gave him a positive.

The 47% approval came from today’s Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll. This number has been pretty stable since late-2009. While things continue to get MUCH worse, according to Rasmussen, the public’s view of Obama have remained essentially the same for nearly the past 2 years...?? No freaking way. No other polling outfit has shown this.....

Just because we are on the cusp of an oligarchy? Less than two weeks ago a majority voted to relieve 523 Congressmen and Senators from any input to lawmaking. I predict this illegal ruse of twelve Superdudes to write laws will soon become standard procedure.

Gee!Whatever gave the Public that Idea?Afterall it seem that the government under this administration seems to do what it wants to.There seem to be No legal consequences paid.

One Branch of the Government seems to be just as corrupt as the others.
