Even if you are fortunate enough to have a retreat out in the country getting to your safe haven maybe impossible during upheaval. Roads blocked by wrecked and fuelless vehicles will stop most bugouters in their tracks. Maybe you were born lucky and can make it out safely before the balloon bursts, then what? People in rural areas, will start shooting if threatened by mobs of refugees fleeing the city. Don’t expect to be welcomed with arms outstretched. Most country folks don’t trust outsiders; you will likely be greeted with a load of buckshot and not the cup of fresh coffee and meaningful conversation you hoped for.

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.
I think that we are at the very least in for a collapse much like that of Argentina’s ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yerKMQc7-w&feature=grec_index), but as a armed society with a very large entitlement minded population our collapse will be much more violent and I see many many small business wiped out by flash mob looting, and large scale violence (look at what happened just this past Memorial Day and 4th of July weekends)we are seeing these mobs grow bolder and bolder like:

If you are an urban dweller, your Plan B ought to be the same as Plan A—sit tight. Because the people in Mayberry are all armed and have been shooting varmints since they were thirteen. Your Saturday night special is no match for well-zeroed hunting rifles with telescopic sights and the usual shotguns wielded by people who have actually used them.
I’m a bit lower than that (1500) and about 90 mins. NW, but the terrain is definately in our favor. Pinchpoints, sightlines etc. have all been identified and discussed. Gas wells and lines abound, so energy will not be a problem. Just have to change orifices from propane to NG. Most folks have water wells and there are several NG and many gasoline generators also. All the talk started in Dec.08 and it has just been evolving since then.
A friend called a couple days ago saying they were talking to a contractor who was telling them all about prepping and stocking up. They were so amazed that he’d said the same things I had told them two years ago. Of course, as far as they’ve gotten is knowing two preppers.
I can only hope those punks bring bricks to the gunfight.
At 200 yards or more, it wouldn’t matter.
