Remember when the Army Engineers blew the Birds Point levee in early May? Now we know the real reason. ~Ed.

Two HUGE intel leads in my email box this morning from way-back contacts that Ive had for years, that are actually somewhat connected concepts.
1. File this one under Now It All Makes Sense. A Missouri farming and ranching contact just got off a conference call wherein he was informed that the federal government is sending out letters to all of the flooded out farmers in the Missouri River flood plain and bottoms notifying them that the Army Corps of Engineers will offer to BUY THEIR LAND.
Intentionally flood massive acreage of highly productive farmground. Destroy peoples communities and homes. Catch them while they are desperate and afraid and then swoop in and buy the ground cheap. Those evil sons of bitches.

There are folks who are confused as to how the situation with regards to the Missouri River dams could be the fault of the Army Corps of Engineers. After all, isnt the amount of rainfall an Act of God?
This is not a FLASH flooding dynamic. This isnt happening because it rained three feet in 24 hours. The largest factor in this flooding is the runoff coming from the melting of the snowpack in the Rocky Mountains. The snowpack is precisely measured and the number of acre-feet of water that will be drained into the Missouri River basin each spring is a precisely known value. If you dont believe me, pull up the website for ANY ski resort. They will have DETAILED snowpack depth data updated on a near-daily basis. One could work up usable data based just off of the ski resorts but we also have frequent and detailed snowpack measurements coming from the National Forests and National Parks. I am hard-pressed to think of a meteorological dataset that has the precision, reliability and lead time that the runoff from the snowpack has. The Army Corps of Engineers knew to the acre-foot how much water was coming, and when it would arrive (summer tends to happen at roughly the same time each year).
Knowing that we had a RECORD snowpack this year, the ACoE should have opened the Missouri dam system up starting early in the spring so as to gently and gradually draw-down the reservoirs and give each dam system enough slack to absorb the snowpack runoff. They intentionally did not do this, and citing wildlife habitat concerns in collusion with the Marxist-Environmentalists, they kept the reservoirs full, thus ensuring that when the snowpack runoff arrived, it would have nowhere to go. Again, this was all 100% unnecessary and 100% intentional. I dont care how many C- affirmative action hires they have, there is absolutely no way that this was a function of being surprised by water that has been measured and sitting in the Rocky Mountains for MONTHS. Snowpack of Quantity X inches yields runoff of Quantity Y acre-feet. It is a liner function that any Beavis or Butthead could have looked up on a table.
I find myself worried not just about farmground, but about low-lying residential areas in both Omaha and Kansas City.

Just think what would happen if Soros controlled the supply/price of grain.
Oh. Thanks.
Then here are a couple of others to consider:

I’m not sure some folks here are getting the full implication here.
The land we’re talking about here—Missouri River bottomland—is some of the richest and most productive agricultural land in the world. Among the justifications for the mainstem dams on the Missouri River was precisely to prevent exactly the kind of flooding which is now occurring.
Does that clarify things a bit?
I don’t know if the conspiracy allegation is true. I do know it is plausible. (i.e. there are means, motive and opportunity . . . )
Say what you will about Colin Powell, but he had a point when he said “you break it, you own it.”
New Deal-type big-government Federal flood control projects broke the natural flooding cycle of the Missouri. This encouraged a LOT of non-agricultural development in the bottomlands of the Missouri valley, which were bottomlands precisely because they did regularly flood. That is exactly what made them so agriculturally productive.
The Corps of Engineers and the Federal Government own (as in are completely and totally responsible for) what happens in the Missouri River valley now.
When big-government programs fail, they fail catastrophically. And I do not use the word “catastrophically” lightly.
The Missouri River mainstem dam system has failed. Catastrophically.
And the New Deal, big-government mindset is to blame.
two quotes from the article:
“Intentionally flood massive acreage of highly productive farmground. Destroy peoples communities and homes. Catch them while they are desperate and afraid and then swoop in and buy the ground cheap. Those evil sons of bitches.
“Bottom line: Soros, through Ospraie, is buying up farmground. Please also note that the hotlink citation above is dated June 26, 2009. My contact says this has been going on for two years and also remember what I told you about farmground prices inflating wildly, especially in Illinois. I have personally confirmed farmground in Illinois selling for $13,000 per acre within the last month, whereas that same kind of ground in Illinois was going for $5,500 per acre the day Obama was inaugurated.”
am i reading this wrong? to my eye, it looks like the land is currently being purchased for more than twice what it was going for just 2 years ago...and that is being called “buying the ground cheap”. i must be misreading/misunderstanding something?!?

Did anybody think Pigford and Pigford II would be enough?
I didn’t think so...
“Just a silly question ....
If this land floods every couple years, and every couple years the US Govt has to pay to have the flood damage fixed up - wouldnt it eventually make sense for the US Govt to simply buy the land; so no one else builds in a flood zone, and then files a flood claim every couple years.
Not knowing the specifics, as the paragraph had very little detail - just a question.”

I dunno, this part sounded mighty persuasive...

In other words, estimating and preparing for the Spring Melt is not rocket science. This gives details that the gumming deliberately planned and exacerbated the flooding.
It’s well known that Fish & Wildlife and EPA has, since the nineties, been working hand-in-glove with the likes of The Nature Conservancy to tie up private land with newly designated endangered species so the greenies can buy it up for a song.
I read some recent accounts explaining how Missouri River basin environmentalists have been busy over the past decade interferring with the Corps of Engineers’ flood control projects either directly or indirectly. They claim that the river should be allowed to return to its natural state.
The Fabian globalist Marxists use environmentalism and global “change” as tools to effect socio-economic changes to gain control for themselves and to pave the way to globalism. As Soros said, the U.S. and Israel stand in the way of globalism.
What you describe is true, but I do not believe it accurately explains the factors at work here. First, as I understand it, the area saved was not densely populated, but a small community of about 2400 people. Second, the whole problem may have been avoided. Read post 21 for more details.
At least in my town this is no longer true. Developers must build retention basins to offset roofs, driveways, sidewalks, etc. Flow from the basins is to be limited to the rate of runoff that would exist if the paving hadn't been done. One shopping mall west of town has a huge retention basin next to the parking lot. I'm on the storm water board (a volunteer board) so I manage to keep up on these details.
THIS WHOLE THREAD IS FANTASTIC, there is a lot of information here.

1) we have occasional droughts
2) we have occasional floods
Now let’s see if we can think of something here...
Since our biggest disaster is government right now, let’s just keep this under our hat...
http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/06/the_purposeful_flooding_of_americas_heartland.html
“Congress created a committee to advise the Corps on how best to balance these competing priorities. The Missouri River Recovery and Implementation Committee has seventy members. Only four represent interests other than environmentalism. The recommendations of the committee, as one might expect, have been somewhat less than evenhanded.”

BUMP!
It just feels weird to have been hollerin my head off for the past two decades and still see these stories come squigglin out from under the rocks the media bury them under and then see people gittin excited about the GovernMental-EnvironMental merger of church and state!!!
It's just sickening to watch the deep penetration and perversion of our government's original purposes, just to fulfill the needs of those "true believers" who will enslave us with being reverting us back to serfs of the big government landowner/King!!!
It's government gone mad, driven there by activists, funded by billionaires and others with too much money and time on their hands who don't really believe we should have any other god but government with THEM and their EnvironMental apuratchicks at it's controls!!!
