Michael Savage is wrong. Liberalism isn't just a mental disorder.
It's the result of having a lobotomy with a rusty and dull scalpel. Here's my proof:
Recently, the commie fingersniffers at Talking Points Memo ran a story about how some bougerois socialist from academia, Susan Feinberg of Rutgers, "caught" Republican Congressman Paul Ryan with two bottles of $350 wine at his table at the swanky Bistro Bis in Babylon...er, uh....Washington DC. The "outraged", and according to Ryan, drunk as hell, Feinberg demanded to know if the men Ryan was eating with were lobbyists. (They weren't. They were economists Cliff Asness and John Cochrane.) After she finished her own very elobarate and expensive meal, Feinberg then marched over to Ryan's table and asked the Congressman how he could live with himself, since he was paying for expensive wine while cutting benefits for poor and elderly. (It should be noted that Ryan paid for his meal and one of the bottles of wine.)

Now, this column is not about defending Paul Ryan. It's about defending capitalism and showing how incredibly stupid the 2+2=5 Left truly is. From the Talking Points Memo propaganda piece:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Feinberg, an economist by training, was even more appalled when the table ordered a second bottle. She quickly did the math and figured out that the $700 in wine the trio consumed over the course of 90 minutes amounted to more than the entire weekly income of a couple making minimum wage.
'We were just stunned,' said Feinberg, who e-mailed TPM about her encounter later the same evening. 'I was an economist so I started doing the envelope calculations and quickly figured out that those two bottles of wine was more than two-income working family making minimum wage earned in a week.' "

Here's the funny part: Feinberg, as an economist, should know that Paul Ryan's expensive wine actually created more jobs and more wealth than any government program could ever hope to. After all, Ryan's purchase helped to pay the maitre d of the restauant. And the head chef. And the sous chef. And the kitchen porter. And the busboys. And the wine sales rep. And the wine distributor. And the winery. Just like Leonard Read pointed out in his mind blowing essay "I, Pencil", no product on God's green and cooling earth can be produced by just one entity. A product is produced by the effort of countless people and countless numbers of people benefit from its purchase. This isn't just "Right Wing rhetoric", this is an undeniable fact, just as it's an undeniable fact that the countless numbers of people who who benefit from the purchase of a product are also people who purchase products. This creates an endless cycle of wealth redistribution that the government, despite how clever it thinks it is, can NEVER reproduce. (Oh, you don't believe me ? Ask anyone who is a LEGAL immigrant from the former Soviet Union, China, Cuba, or Venezuela how well the forced redistribution of wealth works.)
The reality of the situation is this: the American Left is nothing more than a bunch of bougerois socialists who are economically illiterate morons. They will never understand how their idiotic attempts to help the so-called poor harm everyone. They will never understand the fact that the forced redistribution of wealth creates a far larger wealth inequality than capitalism does. (The politburo always lives better than the proletariat. I can assure you that Hu Jintao, the dictator of China, lives waaaaay better than a slave...er, uh....employee at FoxConn.)
God help us all.
She is having dinner at that restaurant since she views herself as one of the nomenklatura, one of the elites. Another limousine liberal playing the phony class warfare game.
Her comment though that Paul Ryan should have given the money instead to a charity reminds me too much of Judas Iscariot.
I think it as a mental disease because of Evan Sayat’s speech, and, of course, listening to the logic of Savage over a decade. Liberals can change as Sayat did—but it is rare. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaE98w1KZ-c
KGB agents who defected in the 70’s stated it was the brainwashing and conditioning by cognitive dissonance that the Marxists put into the public schools when John Dewey, the Fabian Socialist, redesigned the school system— the Prussian design of forced government schooling—to create “group-think”. It is why we had the sexual revolution—the curricula promoted moral relativism (McGuffey Readers were all about God and moral absolutes that Dewey dumped).
The constant brainwashing and conditioning by schools and media create little useful idiots who can not reason and use logic or science. Like saying homosexual acts are “good” and biology says two men can marry. Marxist ideology is stupid and easy to debunk...that is why logic, reason and science have to be destroyed in the children. That is why the government schools have employed evil people with sick perverted ideas, like Bill Ayers, to write curricula. (and he wasn’t even the worst). These Marxists have been writing the textbooks since the 30’s and your children’s minds (and ours—not mine as much, cuz I went to Catholic schools—but even now, Catholic schools are infiltrated with Marxists and secularists and sodomites, and they use textbooks with indoctrination by that sodomite and pederast and collectivist, John Maynard Keynes.
Gato writes about this subtle Pavlovian/Skinnerean methodologies that destroy the logical foundation of children....they are told Big Lies as their foundational knowledge...and you can never build knowledge on it. They treat children like infants who need permission for everything so initiative is destroyed and they humiliate (peer pressure in one-age classrooms) the children who excel and think outside the box.....the ones who used to be the movers and shakers and geniuses in America. They are driven to drugs by the sheer boredom and demeaning treatment which undermines their dignity. and the cognitive dissonance includes destroying their fixed beliefs—in other words, schools tell children their parents know nothing—just like Al Gore did in that global warming speech to 10 year olds a year ago. These people are evil.
Could someone please just burn this bimbo at the stake?
This liberal kook was of course enjoying a very expensive meal, while condemning Ryan for doing the same f'ing thing. And I'll wager a thousand bucks that she left a crummy tip. I've never met a liberal who wasn't a cheap bastard when it comes to their OWN money. Heaven forbid they should part with some to help the lowly waitstaff.
:)
Spending Other People's Money is the whole point of Communism. OPM is the religion of the leftist masses.
Liberalism is a direct result of marijuana use.
Actually, I agree with Feinberg. Ryan should have been drinking something more modest, say, Bali Hai, Boone’s Farm, Red Ripple, or Annie Green Springs. Fine Commie wines that go good with really cheap Mexican brick weed, the kind that’s all stems and seeds.
That fits Alan Colmes to a T.
Yeah. My new kick is to try to show conservatives WHY lefties are the way they are. Lefties have no principles UNLESS you understand the point I made.
There is one principle that they stand by steadfastly: give money to (or appease) anyone who might possible hurt them
Once you understand that point, everything else becomes crystal clear.
I am disturbed by the tone of this article and many of the responses. Just because we disagree with with a political position doesn’t mean we have to insult the people who hold it. The way to change minds is through intelligent, logical debate, not through insults and name calling.
I know people of all political points of view who I like and respect, including liberals.
I joined Free Republic a few days ago looking for a thoughtful discussion of conservatism and free market theory. At this point it seems like this is more a place for venting anger. I am disappointed.
But you are not disturbed by the hypocrisy this article describes? What would you have *calmly discussed* with this flaming liberal who made an embarrassing scene while you were having dinner in a public place?
No pot on earth is that strong. Perhaps it’s heroin.
:)
Your point was succinctly made and I agree %100.
You know their neurons don’t fire, they backfire. Makes everything they do bass ackwards.
Articles that explain how modern liberals suffer from a mental disorder.
They’re not interested in helping the poor, they’re interested in using the poor as an excuse to line their own pockets. In a society based on economic equality, someone has to decide who gets what. The “deciders” get wealth and power without measure. Libs aim to be the deciders.
If you’re serious, hang in there. People are (or become) conservatives for many reasons.
Some were born conservative. Some became conservative through routes that other conservatives don’t like (Like you, I became conservative through reading Ayn Rand).
We don’t always agree. Nor are we (on what is, after all, an anonymous message board) always tolerant of beliefs which differ (perhaps quantitatively rather than qualitatively) from ours.
We are living in an era in which many, many conservatives feel that their entire way of life, entire belief system is under attack by “regressives”. We are angry. Some of us are violently angry. But if you are on our side, you are on our side - even if it might take a little time (trust me, more than a “few days” on FR) to fit in.
Stick with it. Respond intelligently and intelligent FReepers will respond back.
