Acting Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) Director Ken Melson defied orders from the Obama Administration and testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chaired by Representative Darrell Issa (R-Calif) over the July 4th weekend. The testimony concerned details on the growing Fast and Furious (also called Gunwalker) scandal in which the Administration facilitated the sale of weapons to Mexican gangsweapons that have been linked with over 150 murders.
Attorney General Eric Holder denounced Melsons testimony as completely unauthorized. It is not his responsibility to decide what information will be disclosed to Congress. Holder warned that this breach of confidentiality may require Mr. Melsons termination.
Unofficial sources report that the US Navys Seal Team Six has declined the assignment to terminate Melson citing the Posse Comitatus Act. This Act limits the use of military forces within the United States borders. Only if Melson were to leave the country could he be legally terminated using such means.
The scandal is also having international repercussions. Mexican Senator Rene Arce Islas has demanded that US Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and US Attorney General Eric Holder be extradited for trial in Mexico for their roles in arming Mexican gangs. At best, the sale of automatic weapons to these violent criminals is a demonstration of gross stupidity, Arce asserted. It has undermined both the law and safety of the people of my country. Those behind these sales belong behind bars. They are not fit to govern.
In related news, the Obama Administration has announced a series of executive orders will be issued in order to ensure a measure of federal control over how guns are bought and sold within the US. With Congress dragging its feet on gun safety issues, the President is acting on his authority as Commander-in-Chief to restrict access to firearms in this country, said Press Secretary Jay Carney. Events have shown that the notion people can be trusted to determine whether they need weapons is incorrect. Too many of the wrong people are obtaining unneeded guns. Its time for government to take the lead in deciding who should have the right to bear arms.

Lighten up, Francis.
Would not this statement alone be the basis for a lawsuit for "retaliation"?
Got me good!
did he catch you believing it? :O)
Wow! I’m having a hard time finding the satire. These people are getting really scary.
Good job, John (again). Thanks for the ping.
Thanks for the ping John. Appreciate it. Another good one.
This makes me wonder what is going on behind the scenes, behind the media moving screen of circus trials. (as a footnote, the OJ trial displaced the Congressional hearings on the actions of the BATF and FBI at Waco from the airwaves). Sometimes I wonder...but ‘what if’ is only one letter away from ‘what is’.
LOL!
Most freepers are very interested in Fast and furious . The whole point I am sure you understand is to use the ignorance of the public so that obama could crack down on the 2nd amend. for the citizens....We dodged this bullet, with this corrupt, thuggish dictatorial admin. and their co-conspirators in the MSM.
I don't see your point and thanks for the compliment of calling me an old goat... Maybe you need to work on your sense of humor. It appears that you have none, nor any appreciation of good satire.
He catches someone with everyone of his satires, most laugh it off for not catching on sooner. It appears you got mad instead. Your loss...
Good post, you “old goat”. ;o)
I was hoping this would be your topic this week. You didn’t disappoint. ;o)
thx :O)
I guess you missed the “Semi-News/Semi-Satire” tag under the headline?
That said, I’d rather ‘waste my time’ reading satire (even bad satire, which this is not) from a regular contributor to this site than comments from someone who so quickly labels another Freeper ‘STUPID’ simply because HE got taken in by a satirical post.
Good job!
You said it better then I.
>>You and your article...STUPID. Not clever, not funny, a complete failure.<<a
Are you being sarcastic? It was absolutely hilarious. At least I thought so. ;)
This was a good one! I love the satire, but it still made me glad I drove most of the last of my stuff from Seattle to my farm in Kentucky last weekend - including all my guns and ammo.
On a side note, I get no internet access here at the farm without using satellite, which ain’t happening. But then I got this great smartphone which is also a “wi-fi” hotspot. I get good coverage here though the data is not 4g or even 3g. But it’s what I’m using now and there is no reason to upgrade to “real” internet service. I can live without “fast” youtube. :)
