Is President Barack Obama counting his eggs before they even hatch in regards to the Presidential elections of 2012? It sure seems like he is doing just that. At a time with a still struggling economy, which includes the debate about the issue of raising the debt ceiling in the American national debt during in the days leading up to the July 4, 2011 Independence Day holiday. Add to that, and with what is going on in a number of states that are having major budget battles, including Minnesota which brought about at the beginning of a new economic year today, a government shutdown for that state between a Democratic governor and a Republican majority state house.
For President Obama, during a political fundraiser in Philadelphia, PA, on Thursday night, gave a speech which IMHO was the REAL START to the 2012 Presidential campaign. He explains about the frustration of the last two and a half years. He speaks like he still has much more time, such as five and a half years, like as if he EXPECTS to be President AGAIN. Has President Obama ever took the time to think that a second term in the White House is ALWAYS and EARNED TERM? Regardless of the political party, a second Presidential term can only be given if there has been success and ONLY success in the first term. But President Obama sounds so over-confident in himself. He has no positive record to speak of. Yet he counts his eggs before they hatch. From a transcript of his speech last night: And, Philadelphia, I know there are some of you who are frustrated because we havent gotten everything done that we said we were going to do in two and a half years. Its only been two and a half years. I got five and a half years more to go. (Applause.) And there are look, there are times where I feel frustrated. But we knew this wasnt going to be easy. We knew a journey like this one, there were going to be setbacks, like there were setbacks during the first campaign. There are going to be times where we stumble, just we stumbled sometimes during the first campaign.
This speech should send a message to concerned Americans that the GOP candidate for the 2012 USA Presidential elections has to not only be a principle American but a TRUE conservative, one who will get to work to clean up the mess left by the experiment in overgrowth in both federal taxing and overregulations. Mr. President Obama, if I was you, I would NOT count my chickens before they hatch.
The only eggs this man can count are the ones he’s laid.
Can he count?
If he didn't play basketball he wouldn't know what sweat is!
I think he’s going to anger a lot of people with his arrogant pronouncement, “I still have 5 and 1/2 years in office.” Any president with a lick of tact would have said something like, “I still have a year and a half, and with the voters support in 2012, 4 more years...”
That is the right way to go about it. The second term is EARNED.
I’m afraid he will get re-elected as there will be alot of shenanigans. And, we know that is the left’s specialty.
If no shenanigans, he’ll get wiped off the electoral map in a landslide.
Just my $.02
May as well count 'em.
My big concern also. Look for more close observing of voting places by many concerned Americans come next year. Voter fraud could be a possible issue of a DESPERATE left.
AMEN!
Well, we do after all have 57 states....so YES HE CAN!
Someone screwed up the metaphore.
You count your *chickens* before they hatch, not your eggs.
The American national character seems to have a streak which actually LIKES arrogance and braggadocio in public figures.
I remember how Cassius Clay/M. Ali acted in a similar fashion (at least he had achievements to brag about) in the ‘60’s and I thought that would be his downfall with the public. But, no-—the people ate it up.
I don’t claim to understand it for a minute but I think we are seeing something similar with Zer0, which might explain why voters rate his policies at 32% approval while he comes in personally at nearly 50%.
we do like arrogance in our public figures that have actually achieved something. M. ali was a great boxer, obama has not achieved anything
If he was laying eggs I might have some hope.
However what comes from his A$$ is not eggs.
What comes through his mouth is much the same crap as what he
issues from his - - rear end.
Sounds to me like he knows the election is fixed already
You get the message, counting those same chickens, even before they hatch while they are still eggs.
That is a recipe for TROUBLE.
