The dollar collapse will be the single largest event in human history. This will be the first event that will touch every single living person in the world. All human activity is controlled by money. Our wealth, our work, our food, our government, even our relationships are affected by money.
No money in human history has had as much reach in both breadth and depth as the dollar. It is the de facto world currency. All other currency collapses will pale in comparison to this big one. All other currency crises have been regional and there were other currencies for people to grasp on to.
This collapse will be global and it will bring down not only the dollar but all other fiat currencies,as they are fundamentally no different. The collapse of currencies will lead to the collapse of ALL paper assets. The repercussions to this will have incredible results worldwide.

Foreign merchants will either refuse dollars completely, or will demand such high prices in dollars as to make trade impossible.
.
>> “will we not get paid?” <<
.
Yes, the usual amount, but it won’t buy anything imported, and the price of what you can buy will be so high that you cannot afford it.
You really haven’t worked this thru?
With the collapse of the dollar, all governmental agencies would shutdown. Federal, state and local.
Cops, firefighters and teachers won’t be employed. That’s just the start
Following the lack of govt, banks and infrastructure will collapse. Any deals you had are null & void, as the country under whose laws the contract was written no longer exists.
Your property won’t exist... unless you can personally defend it.
Food? Good luck. How many farms are left?
Think dawn of the dead and you’re getting close to what it’ll be like in the major population centers
That’s a good one. I’ll also preface my 72 hour kit update with it as well. Big revision on the way, complete with pictures.
And thank you for all of your good work. I’ve referred members of our home owners association to your site.

I definitely would not want to be in jail in an inflationary collapse!
Uhhh, No! At the very least, it's noticing where the exits are now that we've enter the crowded theater.
What about the disaster of overestimating danger?
Do the prudent thing and put some water, food, ammo, cash and maybe "real" money aside just in-case and maybe sit next to an exit since it's kinda smoky in here. Where's the danger in that? At least you wouldn't be an immediate burden to others if the SHTF.
Germany recovered after their currency collapsed in the 1920’s. It’s funny how people have been piling into gold for years now and driving the price up, while the asset Germany used to back a new currency that led to recovery, real estate, is selling at rock bottom.
I'm leaning more toward a soft landing....depending on where you live.....large cities or large enclaves of liberal parasites could get real dicey.
Flyover country will work together and make thing work...as we always have
So if you have to get 666 on the back of your hand or on your forehead to buy food, will you do it?
My God, I hope you have people that will look after you!
Well, very large corporations often wish to get in bed with the government in order to have tax revenue steered their way overtly through outright subsidies or to subtly bend policy to favor themselves and damage their competitors to the extent possible (GE?). To the extent they engage in that behavior, they are sucking the life out of the citizenry. Big business and big government are often two sides of the same corrupted coin. An individual or a people trusts either at their own peril.
I understand the whole big corporations who use government to their advantage, but THAT wasn’t the connotation in the video I saw.
Which currency or currencies will the dollar collapse against?
If you can answer that, we can both get rich.
Garde la Foi, mes amis! Nous nous sommes les sauveurs de la République! Maintenant et Toujours!
(Keep the Faith, my friends! We are the saviors of the Republic! Now and Forever!)

As long as the dollar remains the reserve currency of the world, your dollars will be good. I am of the opinion it will, but I'm a no expert...( but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn once ! )
What will happen is those dollars will be worth a whole lot less (reduced buying power) depending on counties who hold dollars do with them. Think worst case scenario (Zimbabwe) or inflation in the best case scenario in the 20 % + annual range
will the govt confiscate our bank accounts and 401's?.
confiscate 401 K is highly likely if 2012 doesn't remove the ursurper from office.
He will need the cash to pay off his pubic sector union thugs to get them to do his bidding
Yes picture your bank closed and your ATM card or credit card won’t work. The grocery store is only taking cash and everyone is trying to get stocked up at the last minute. Within hours people will just start filling up their carts and leaving without paying. The stores will be stripped in less than a day. There will be a lot of chaos and rioting in the cities. Within a few days people will be running out of food and they will be branching out foraging. If you have food you better be prepared to defend it. Living in the city or the burbs is going to be dangerous and unpleasant.
I am well capable of handling myself.
I'm just not into fear mongering or buy into apocalypse rhetoric
I am preparing for the worst case scenario... hope you are...
You know how many of you lived highly financially responsible lives, preparing for a good retirement, denying the good things in life, so you would never be financially dependent upon anybody.
Whereas, I went on exotic vacations, spent my money on booze and broads, never saved one nickel for the future when it could be spent immediately.
I think I win this one.
I quit right there.
Once it is necessary to restore legal, constitutional money it will take about six months to be up and running again - assuming the regulatory state is dismantled.
Do you consider the news coverage about the rioting in Greece to be “fear mongering?”
Again I say the guy is right just for all the wrong reasons. They are many large corporations stacking the deck with the help of the ‘Bammy’ government.
